LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

YardVPS - $6.36 512MB Xen in LA Black Friday Promotion

YardVPS Black Friday coming up in a few days and I’ve been getting quite a few related offers. Jimmy from YardVPS sent me their special promo code BFYARD, which gives you 20% off recurring discount on their Xen Linux and Xen HVM-based Windows VPS plans. Their cheapest Xen Linux plan “Tree 1” is $6.36/month after the discount. Direct sign up link.

  • 512MB memory/1024MB swap
  • 20GB storage
  • 1500GB/month data transfer on 100Mbps
  • Xen/SolusVM

They have their own servers and routers in Los Angeles CA (test IPv4: 199.71.213.2 IPv6: 2604:6600:1019::2) and they take either PayPal, AliPay or credit card. 20% off discount also applies to quarterly and annual payments. Nice new clean looking home page, including a Chinese one as I guess they do get quite a lot of customers across the Pacific. However there wasn’t much change in terms of plans and pricing, comparing to a year ago. Check previous offers for comments and reviews.

    • Why’s that?

      • Jim, if you have to actually ask that question, it just shows that you don’t have a clue.

        You’re rude.

You’ve been caught in a number of lies right here in LEB.

You refuse to answer questions and complaints.

        You don’t answer emails.

        Your company spams.

Your company operates an illegal sales mail list with no required opt out, no required physical address listed, and al those other things that have been pointed out to you.

Surprise us. Follow up on my complaints, clean up your act, and run an ethical company.

Feel free to lie once again and say that you’ve covered all this. Last time you did, I asked you to point where you had and you refused to do so.

        • Thank you Jim for proving my point. Once again you refuse to answer a complaint abut your conduct, your actions and about services that were supposed to be provided and never were. The only thing you ever did right was refund my money when you couldn’t even get a VPS set up correctly.

By the way, are you ever going to email me back? Or was that yet another lie?

        • Never got your email, maybe it was sent to my spam? Wouldn’t that be ironic?

        • Sure, Jim. I believe you. ;)

It’s not like you’ve lied to me and others here before.

+1 for YardVPS and “Jim” (Jimmy Lu) being a bunch of amateurs. I used their service for a short time and ended up requesting a refund when their support staff couldn’t make TUN/TAP and PPTP work as they claimed it would. Tried to reason with Jimmy several times in order to get a refund, but ended up having to file a PayPal claim and BBB complaint before I could get my money back. Jimmy also threatened me with action in small claims court — laughable at best over a $15/year VPS account.

I still get outage notifications and email newsletters from these idiots. No unsubscribe link or anything…

I’ll take it that current LEAF plans will remain online? Just paid for my renewal on my $15/yr a few weeks back, heh. :P Might i also suggest removing the OpenVZ links on the YardVPS WHMCS setup? They’re still there.

        • They’ll remain online, just won’t be offering them anymore :)

I was with YardVPS for many months.

I had a Windows VPS for $6.36. I think that was available when they were just starting.

Anyway, there were some growing pains. The new server image gave everybody the same IP for example, but no big issues and good for the price.

The VNC was setup server side so you didn’t have to use remote desktop.

My only complaint would be about my own forgetfulness because when I cancelled in the summer I forgot to stop my paypal subscription so I gave them 2-3 months payment for free.

Oh well, no real complaints though.

Just wanted to add that I had very low usage requirements in terms of bandwidth and processing power. I mostly used the server to run my Kindle Calibre stuff and a few other minor things.

    • If you sent over payments, these would be credited to your account and you can sign up for our services again :)

Haha, I just checked and it is indeed credited to my account.

Guess I could sign up for a few months.

I have been YardVPS for over 6 months now (OpenVZ as well as XEN). It was down only for 1-2 days and I did get much over 100 days uptime. Overall, I am pleased with the price/performance ratio of YardVPS.

or have we to change our plan for another time.

    thanks.

sorry, my English is not good.
I mean, do you accept order to buy VPS, for the date about between 26 December 2011 – 02 January 2012 ?,
because at that time, we have much time (holiday) to prepare our new sites.
        Thx.

Btw, the difference of WARP1, WARP 2, WARP 3 is the RAM size.

How about the CPU ? same 8 cores, but how about the CPU/proc speed, is it difference ? (e.g. WARP1: 2 ghz, WARP2: 2.5 ghz, WARP3: 3 ghz, etc)

        and how about BEAM?
BEAM at the RAM speed should lower than WARP, but how about the CPU speed allocated?

        Thx.

  9. This was a great sale for us, we did roughly 400GB RAM worth of VMs. We have officially discontinued LEAF (OpenVZ) plans and they’ve been removed from the site.

I know this is a old post but nothing has changed and has gotten worse.

In the last 20 years that I have spent in front of computers, running servers, setting up websites and now running a small hosting company I have to say that YardVPS is one of the worst that I have ever come across.

Their parent node setup is horrible see crash error logs images below, I ordered a small server to do some script testing on and in the last 3 months the server was up a total of maybe 3 to 5 days total.

A number of tickets were submitted along with the error logs only to get a reply from this guy Jimmy Lu (Vice President of Operations), telling me that the parent node has been running for more than 212 days. That is all good but if the OS’s have errors or the parent node cannot assign and maintain IP addresses then the parent node being up a so call 212 days does no good.

My advice stay away from YardVPS there customer service is very poor and their products are even worse, if the companies so called (Vice President of Operations) LOL has to respond to their ticket system that says it all.
    Thanks for letting me post.
