WhiteLabelHosting Look, who is working extra hard on the New Year’s Eve :) Here is another offer. It’s from WhiteLabelHosting and it’s their New Year’s Deal. “Plan #1 USA” fits well inside our listing threshold at $5/month. You get

  • 512MB memory
  • 25GB storage
  • 500GB/month data transfer on 100Mbps port
  • OpenVZ/SolusVM

Direct sign up link here. On the form it says “Located in Missouri” which I presume would be in Kansas City MO, where many other Missouri-based offers are. Interestingly SSL was half-working in their last month’s offer, but is completely borked this time. Those are E3-1230/1240 nodes with 16GB RAM and RAID10 drives. Check their last two offers for their background + comments/reviews. Here is one provider whom you don’t really get to see on main stream web hosting forums (WHT), but advertise on HackForums. It might be the type you are interested in, but walk with caution (especially since it’s still a pretty new provider).

    “If an order is above the USD Price of $25 then we will not refund it.

    When ordering services on a longer renewal time than monthly, refunds will not be given.”

    • @ Daniel – That’s just what works for us. The “If an order is above the USD Price of $25 then we will not refund it.” needs to be removed actually because it is from a while back (As you can see we don’t even offer any services over 25$ other than our yearly plans.

      We don’t give refunds for anything over monthly plans. We only give refunds within a 24hour time frame of a new order if you ask for one. We’ve had no complaints about our policy, and we do have a downtime policy so that we will refund if you have downtime for 5% of the total time of your service/renewal period.

      @ LEA – We do post on WHT every now and then, and I will be posting this offer tonight, but we mainly choose to do it for our specials such as our Christmas special that just passed.

    They are running HTTP on the HTTPS port (443), server config error. Make sure to put “SSLEngine On” in the virtual host section.

    The refund policy seems wack to me. What happens if service degrades? I’m glad I didn’t take a yearly deal. That said, the larger monthly deals (VPS3 and VPS4) are attractive if the vps’s are reliable, especially b/c of the amount of disk space.

    • Thanks for the comment. I’ll take a look into the config tomorrow morning.

      The yearly server is running extremely well so anyone who did grab the yearly offer I know for sure isn’t regretting it. Average load is under 1 & we have a lot of RAM to spare for upgrades, bandwidth is plentiful & everyone now has access to 1gbps. I know that there are doubts about whether it will last for a year or not, but I financially planned the offer before sending it to LEA, and I know for sure that it’ll still be there next year :). As for downtime we’ve had around 5 minutes of downtime (for reboot maintenance) on the node since deployment.

      Back on topic, our VPS3/VPS4 is very attractive as we are probably one of the most low priced providers on the net, but it works for us & the majority of our clients are happy, it isn’t as if we’re grossly overselling & in fact our performance peaks above most providers who charge up to triple the prices.

    Had a VPS for one month from Whitelabel.

    Was using the VPS mainly for network testing of Kansas City.

    Network is fast. VPS was 100% uptime. Never noticed any issues (but we were not monitoring the VPS).

    I’d say this was one of the better experiences we had last month with VPS providers.

    This email will explain in detail the actions I am about to take with WhiteLabel and the choices our clients will have.

    Unfortunately due to a variety of reasons, I have made the decision not to continue offering virtual servers in our current state at WhiteLabelHosting.

    Closing WhiteLabelHosting was not an option to me, so I’ve reviewed my options and brought forward the following plan ;

    We’ll be increasing our prices by around 2-3x, clients who do not wish to stay with us have the option to request a backup & transfer your virtual server to one of our many competitors. Clients who wish to stay with is will see an improved level of performance and general service.

    I ask that all clients who wish to transfer open a ticket immediately requesting your VZ file & cancellation.

    If you however decide to stay with us, I would appreciate you also open a ticket explaining not only why you decided to stay with us but if you would like to be moved to one of our new servers. Since we expect the majority of clients to cancel we will also be cancelling a large amount of our nodes, the result of this is that clients who do wish to stay will be transferred to one of our big nodes that will remain online and house all of our remaining clients

    If you’re an yearly customer, read this. You can ignore this email, your server will stay online for the length of your billing peiod and the prices will stay the same, you have nothing to worry about at all.

    I’ve taken into consideration selling the company, but unfortunately I have high expectations for whoever would take over which lowers the amount of potential buyers quite significantly. WhiteLabelHosting is not ran to be a super-profiting business and that is why we can manage with our current pricing scheme, but as I have grown tired of the virtualization market with OpenVZ among other things, this seemed the only fair option I could make. I did not want to close WhiteLabel and force clients into switching provider, nor did I want to stop offering out services entirely, I simply want to refine our business model – at the moment we offer some of the lowest priced virtual servers on the net and I do not feel that I can continue offering these prices while putting so much effort and resources into keeping the company running.

    Thank you to all of our past clients, and our future clients, I’m sorry that this decision had to be made but the company was first and foremost a learning experience for me, I have unfortunately grown tired of the problems we’ve been running into and not having the capital our competitors have in order to fix some of those problems.

    My own Experirence.
    Tickets usually reply after 2~5days,even no reply in many tickets.
    A new renew billing paid the day before yesterday,then suspended my VPS with reason “over due payment”at 08/04/2012 via system mail(But WHMCS displayed 08/05/2012).
    Waht a wonder!
    No reply and un-suspend till now!
