We saw SoftShellWeb most recently back on December 23, 2020. They’re a UK company that offers hosting in Amsterdam and Taiwan. The first is common – the latter definitely is not!
In their last post (and the one before it), they shared some pics of their office, which was pretty cool, and we’ve discussed their green hosting initiative in the past. For every month you have service, they plant a tree through the Eden Reforestation Project.
So with hosting in semi-exotic locales and green hosting initiatives, not to mention a well-decorated office, SoftShellWeb is not your run-of-the-mill hosting company and deserves a look.
Their WHOIS is public. They are registered in the UK. Their Terms of Service is available on their web site. They accept PayPal, Alipay, Debit/Credit Card, BitCoin, UnionPay, WebMoney, Moneta, QIWI, India Netbanking, iDeal, SOFORT Banking, DOKU, DragonPay, Boleto, Banco do Brasil, Alfa-Click, Malaysia e-banking, Pago Fácil, Rapi Pago, Red Pagos, and Bancontact.
Here’s a little about SoftShellWeb in their own words:

Props for the green hosting concept! Very nice.
Less than 10 months after use (12 months contract), without giving specific reasons, they simply turned off my VPS. Sent an email saying “Suspension Reason: ABUSE” and no further explanation. Tickets are not answered. However, during these 10 months, the VPS did not work perfectly – there were intermittent shutdowns and malfunctions. Never deal with this provider, it will be more expensive for yourself!
