SoftShellWeb started submitting offers for LEB readers in August and did a great job bringing good offers to LEB readers during Black Friday. I noted in one of my roundups that they have an amazing green hosting commitment: they plant a tree for every month you have hosting with them.
They’ve got some December specials for you all, including some based in Taiwan which is not a common location.
- 1GB unmetered transfer (fair share) in either Taiwan, Amsterdam, or California, starting at $39/year!
SoftShellWeb is a registered UK company. You should check out their Terms of Service and if you agree, you can pay with PayPal, Alipay, Debit/Credit Card, BitCoin, UnionPay, WebMoney, Moneta, QIWI, India Netbanking, iDeal, SOFORT Banking, DOKU, DragonPay, Boleto, Banco do Brasil, Alfa-Click, Malaysia e-banking, Pago Fácil, Rapi Pago, Red Pagos, and/or Bancontact.
Remember that the LEB community would love to hear about your experience in the comments section below!
Here’s what they had to say:
“At SoftShellWeb we love December and the Happy Holiday Spirit! Therefore we made some special deals for the community that helped us grow and expand our services onto 3 different continents. As the demand for unmetered bandwidth grows we have decided to offer unmetered plans in our Amsterdam and California locations, which are suitable for almost all clients. We are looking forward to expand our current offer and to meet the requirements of our clients and the low end community. 2020 was a truly unique and special year for us with all the help and trust that we received from this community that has helped us grow and set a foothold in the industry.”

It’s a bit confusing to say “1GB unmetered transfer (fair share) in either Taiwan, Amsterdam, or California, starting at $39/year!” and later in post “Taiwan December-1: 200 GB transfer”
Hello,
The unmetered plans are in California and Amsterdam. Please do understand that Bandwidth is very expensive in Taiwan region.
“The unmetered plans are in California and Amsterdam. Please do understand that Bandwidth is very expensive in Taiwan region.”
That’s fair enough, the issue more that the text suggests that unlimited is also available in Taiwan (I’m in Hong Kong, so Taiwan was very appealing)
Hello,
Apologies for the misunderstanding, however currently its not possible to offer unlimited bandwidth in the Taiwan region. If you require a different amount of bandwidth you can contact us via ticket and we will provide you with a custom quote, or you can choose additional bandwidth for your service during the ordering process.
I hate this industry standard of listing resource as unlimited with an fair share policy. There’s no details of limitation in the terms. There’s a note that if you are using an abnormally large amounts of bandwidth your account can be terminated. What define an abnormally large amounts of bandwidth? More than 200GB of transfer as it’s offered for taiwan’s server? I hope this sale tactic will go away and that in the future we will be able to know exactly what service we are paying for.
Hello,
You can use a fairly large amount of Bandwidth with our unlimited plans! However we do not allow bandwidth hogging and abusing the network, therefore the fair share policy in order to allow for fair usage by all clients.
Price increase of 9 dollars in less than a month
