This is StyleXNetworks first ever post on LowEndBox. Their company was founded some 10 months ago and are based in Ashburn, Virginia. As StyleXNetworks use OnApp, VPS servers have: Automatic Fail Over, so in the event of hardware failure, all of your data will be migrated to standby nodes; Auto-Scaling, you can pre-configure limits for your VPS, so that OnApp can add more resources to your instance if you’re server requires more – this will also help with load-balancing and SAN storage, enterprise-class storage, with multi-layered security, a self-healing architecture and automatic hypervisor failover. I managed to find a few reviews, they all seem positive, but it was when they were offering free beta VPS. If you’re a current customer, be sure to leave a comment below!

sorry for the very bad uptime ! do not recommend !
If you are having any down time issues then you need to open a support ticket with us because we haven’t had any issues.
I had almost the same reason. My VPS was down in the first month that I gave it a test drive and that too of 30min approx. I was not impressed by the failure of “auto failover” on one of their nodes (which I was on)
May be they have improved their network now but after the initial first month I requested cancellation (actually 23 days to be exact)
I disagree! I have two StyleX VPSs (128MB & 512MB) and they’ve been GREAT! StyleX Networks has one of the nicest panels around (OnApp), and their network / equipment is top-notch quality.
Stylex’s address of record in Ashburn is the UPS store next to the Harris Teeter and Starbusck in Broadlands. I recognized the address as I shop there when visiting family.
I don’t think that indicates a problem, as the offer clearly states their servers are based elsewhere. But perhaps the Ashburn connection is irrelevant, unless Stylex’s principal(s) has a day job or experience at one of the local datacenters.
Thats where we receive our mail.
Oh, boy, this is disastrous right off the bat.
Perhaps you can explain a bit more? Not sure how I can even possibly help you with your vague comment without any proof.
Don’t worry about john (LAkid on LET) he does this all the time. sadly it is a competition these days to see who can post a negative comment first without adding support ticket numbers etc to back it up.
Congrats on your post best of luck, never played with an onapp cloud VPS so I may give this a try.
I’ve been a customer for about 3 months and I’m very happy with their service and support. Sorry to see trolls trying to damage their reputation but it doesn’t seem like they are actual customers otherwise they could provide ticket numbers or some other evidence.
I have had a node with StyleX for a few months, and did have some downtime in the very beginning – at one point, I noticed it had been down for awhile, and I guess the auto reboot didn’t initiate, so I had to login to the control panel and kick the instance back on.
Otherwise, the node is very snappy, and has had 99.999% uptime for the last 60 days, according to my nagios instance- only a new missed pings here and there are reported, but not enough to complain about at all.
I am quite pleased with the node overall, and may use it to replace another I have in LA currently.
Did I read correctly, 1 Gb swap for a 128mb xen vps?
Will this not cause excessive IO on the node ?
You read it correct.. Our HV is connected to a SAN storage with multiple interfaces to prevent this from happening. This is also required by OnApp.
Hmmm, 93 pence a month, might just be worth a punt…
Not following what you are trying to say.
You’re very defensive mate. I was actually saying that I was going to take a plan, but I’ve had enough of hosts who over-react to every little comment, so I’ll pass.
I wasn’t defensive, I didn’t understand what you were saying.
Well if you didn’t, I apologise for being overly defensive.
Substitute ‘punt’ for ‘go’ – do you understand what I’m saying now?
Majority of people here just comment with one sentence and expect us to understand what they are saying or the issues they are experiencing. Majority of the problems, well almost all come from users who have tiny or small plan simply because they exhaust their resources and when issues arise they blame us.
For now we’re putting tiny and small out of stock. It brings nothing but abusers and users who constantly DD test no reason.
I honestly did not mean to be defense in anyway, I didn’t understand you.
Now I’m confused. Was that anything to do with what I said?
“For now we’re putting tiny and small out of stock. It brings nothing but abusers and users who constantly DD test no reason.”
Not quite true. I’m just now configuring a Tiny as a backup DNS server and VPN portal. Haven’t used DD at all.
“It brings nothing but abusers and users who constantly DD test no reason.”
Welcome to LEB, unfortunately. :/
He’s not defensive.
If you would have said it to some guy on the street in the United States, you would have been punched in the face.
I think that’s pretty unlikely.
This definitely looks overly defensive to me. And “Hmmm, 93 pence a month, might just be worth a punt…” is far from being unclear.
I think you need to understand that not every comment here is something you need to defend. Some people just comment (opinions, thoughts, “comments,” etc.), and you don’t need to “defend.”
It’s only clear if English (and British English, at that) is your native language…
No, it was a response to the rest of the trolls.
Then don’t respond to a British guy accusingly who clearly wanted to use your services. Punters = shoppers in the UK. Pence = Penny.
He wanted to use your services, and you blew it.
People are daft. (google that)
Tiny/Small sales plan does not exist!
I think one of the posts above was saying the smallest plan had been withdrawn from sale because it was attracting users who were causing issues.
In such a case, just say: I’m sorry!
Really disappointed.. :( was gonna use it for a project..and was cooking a for a LA location with this pricing. Anyone know of a similar priced provider? paid monthly?
@Honestjim
Contact sales@stylexnetworks.com and I will work something out for you.
“I wasn’t defensive…..” shows you are defensive again, If you reply my these words, one more proof :)
How so? Please elaborate on that since you are so good at reading people. Oh and I am being defensive this time. Literally.
Tiny Cloud VPS – I was about to order this, but couldn’t find it anymore. I just want to use it as my private VPN server, as I find the ping latency is excellent (and the price as well). Can you help me here?
There is an error in the post :
Can’t order tiny cloud small cloud. those url orders are redirect to starter cloud.
They not that bad actually, I with them around 2 mths last few days their hypervisor was down but it’s automatic migration to a stand by node. I can’t figure out how long the auto-fair over was took it’s good if the stylexnetworks can tell us? =)
Their network seems to perform very well in my tests.
Hope to hear about experience from more customers.
Hopefully they get a small server back in stock soon, i wanted to get one.
Network isn’t the best, but my real complaint is that they will randomly reboot the nodes and then not turn my VPS back on afterwords.
Needs AUTOBOOT, like Dewlance.
I’ve used them once for a while and they were okay; no complaints.
Currently the StyleXnetworks was under DDoS attack one of the VM was down and another is working totally fine. What a weird situation.
The DDoS was mitigated within 30 minutes with out any issues. FYI, it was from a tiny VPS plan, hence why we will no longer offer tiny or small. Just brings nothings but trouble.
Totally agree with you, Stop to offering the tiny or small plan that only bring troubles. Anyway I am still happy with StyleXNetworks but its too sad the 50OFF it’s not available now =)
let me know if you promoting 2G plan :)
Bad provider, not recommend!
@sonic either provide evidence or stop trolling the offers eh? ;-)
Uhmm, i forgot ssh password and attemped failded login 3 times. I visit CP and do reset password and login OK. But they send me abuse report and suppend my vps, then let me pay 10$ for re-activation. So i leave them, they ask me pay 10$ coz i dont remember my password??? NO.
You violated our TOS by using our services to send out spam. You just happened to reset your password when one our engineers was suspending your VPS due to abuse.
I signed up with styleXnetworks about a week ago based on the reviews & pricing I found here on lowendbox.com. I initially was having a hard time deciding between going with a dedicated server or a VPS before purchasing, but finally decided to just go with a VPS provider. I had no idea these guys were offering a “Cloud” VPS service, as I’m a bit old fashioned (been with the same simple VPS provider for a decade), and the word ‘cloud’ itself imho is one of the most misused words in IT lexicon. Suffice it to say, I absolutely love the way that they have things worked out as “cloud VPS” — at least for reseller accounts — you purchase your required resources monthly, not a VPS; and within limits, how you divide those resources up and use them is entirely up to you(awesome). It took some time to get used to the concept and how things work in their “cloud vps” setup for me, and Kasra personally spent much time going back and forth in conversation(32 or so emails) working with me to figure out what type of plan would best fit my needs and how to best accomplish my goals(setting up a 5 node cluster to provide shared hosting to my web development clients, and re-sell ‘bad neighbors’ VPS’s — e.g a reseller account). After purchasing the inital resources I require, and getting my cluster set up, everything has been pretty much flawless, and their support is the quickest I have experienced ANY where — for example, I had an issue with two VPS’s I deleted failing to delete about an hour ago, hopped onto the main website and clicked the “chat with us” link and within 10 seconds my issue was resolved — and it’s like this 24 hours a day, not to mention this issue turned out to be MY fault, I just had to ‘unlock’ the machine on my control panel and click delete again(my bad, total PEBKAC). If you’re reading these trollers and wondering if you should give styleXnetworks a try, I say go for it. Though I can’t speak for up time as I’ve only been with them a week, their control panel is easy to use, their service has not gone down once, and support is literally awesome, instant and a click away, 24 hours, all day, every day.
Please can anyone suggest me honestly which one should I choose for Cloud Server among Singlehop and Stylexnetworks. As I liked the Stylexnetworks cheap prices whereas Singlehop is costlier, but cost is not a matter for me.. I only need is up time & performance and guaranteed resources as mentioned in their plans.
Beware of this Scam company, I had my VPS on Tiny package, they terminate it after the due date without even giving a warning that they will erase your data.
If you had other choices , prevent this scammer.
I really do apologize for the inconvenience, however you were sent an invoice with a due date. You failed to pay the invoice by the due date and your account was automatically terminated by the system.
If you had let us know ahead of time that you would be out of town or the possibly of extending your due date then we would have gladly given you an extra day or two to sort things out on your side.
rained23 – I had the same issue. I had a TinyVPS, My invoices used to give me 7 days to pay.
My February invoice had a due date of 24 hours after it was generated without any notice of the change. I logged in today to pay my invoice as usual and my service had been terminated. No notification whatsoever.
I open a ticket and ask them to correct the obvious error and reinstate my service. They reply that my data is not available due to my service being terminated and they no longer offer the same package. Seems like they realised the deal they offered is not viable for them and are just trying to scam people off it. While they do this though, they erase all of my data.
Just to be clear, if payment is not made to StyleX (for whatever reason) before or by the due date, then customer data are permanently wiped at COB? Even if the invoice is generated on an irregular monthly schedule and as late as the day before the date due?
I have or had VPS accounts with at least 12 different companies in past year and I’ve never experienced a policy like this.
If your customer’s data are indeed wiped at the close of the due date for nonpayment, then I hope your shop never makes a mistake- even a minor one. If your TOS and practices are that draconian, you may find any remaining customers are equally unforgiving.
Hi cpaquette. The TOS state a 3 day grace period after non-payment and then a further 7 days for data to be terminated. In this case it seems pretty clear to me that they overextended themselves by providing VPS nodes at prices they could no longer sustain and were trying any trick possible to free up their nodes so they can re-sell them at their new lowest price of $10.99 per month.
Changing the invoice due dates from 7 days to 1 day without notice, no notice of payment being overdue or any account suspension, no notice of impending termination of service and no notice of termination and data destruction. All seems pretty fishy to me.
They stated that the TOS I agreed to was no longer in effect because the service offering was discontinued, but it’s not my problem if they contract with me at a lower rate than they can afford and then decide not to offer that to new customers.
StylexNetworks is closed down and no more in business! people lost lot of data!
