Wire Work Communications got in touch with us a while ago about listing one of their dedicated server plans. They recently got back in touch and confirmed that they were still interested in being listed.

Wire Works Communications were founded in 2011 and are a registered company in the U.S state of Illinois (TEKSTORM, INC (DBA Wire Works Communications). Seen as this server comes with 5 IPv4 Addresses, we would just like to confirm that this server will support Virtualization (OpenVZ, Xen etc). The Coupon Code “LOWEND” will give you 15% off your first month.This is the fourth dedicated server offer we have now listed, since we raised our maximum listing price in October. I couldn’t find any reviews on them, so if you have been a customer of theirs, make sure you leave a comment below.
Wire Works Communications accept payments via Paypal or by Credit Card. They don’t offer refunds for their dedicated servers. Bandwidth is unmetered, meaning there is no monthly limit. IRC websites/servers, Piracy, hacking, warez are prohibited. Adult content is allowed as long as it meets all U.S. laws and regulations. If you click the order link above it takes you to a order form which states you get a L5420 for $39.95 but post says E5410. Not sure if it’s an error or…

Good deal, the DUAL L5420 is faster than the DUAL E5410 anyway.
The plan is incorrectly quoting $49.95 on their website but this site is quoting $39.95. What’s up with that?
Dang they are making a killing! The L5420 servers are just Dell 1U CS24-SC S45 servers which only costs $200. I want to know where you guys colo

The colo at Joe’s Datacenter, in the same building and on same network as Wholesale INternet in Kansas City, Missouri.
Makes sense they can get a full 42U rack for $330 a month. Imagine just 42 of those servers just stacked up at $49.99 a month
Bad thing is these are 2A 120V so lets not imagine “42 of those servers” stacked.
Damn, next month I’d love to go for the DS2 Server. This month I’ve already wasted my budget. -.-

I spoke to Zachary and he said they have an order of servers coming in Friday and another batch coming shortly after. I’m stoked for this offer. Such a wicked deal!
I wasn’t sure about pre-ordering but once I’d researched the prices of dedicated servers this deal was too tempting. :) Roll on Friday! Looking forward to trying out my first ever dedicated server & will be sure to come back to this post after I’ve used it for a while and give wireworks a little review.

I put in a ticket this morning and recieved a response that the servers are in and that they are in the process of racking them, and installing the OSes.

Not a terrible server for what you pay, but definitely not something I think I am going to keep.
Disk speed does seem a little slow, is it just a single drive setup?
Mine has also been set up. :) Andrew how do you do those tests? I’ve just downloaded a test file to check the D/L speed and got these results:

Pretty sad speeds. Haven’t really even installed anything side from Apache MYSQL and PHP.
So Wire Works just called me and according to them my server shipped with the wrong network card. That would explain my speeds.
They are working to get it resolved for me so I am still in love lol!
I thought it was a bit strange when I read your result compared to mine! Well at least you know what you will be getting. :)
Well my network on my server seems to be screwed now, all I did was change my timezone the same way I’ve always done on every VPS I’ve owned and after a reboot I now can’t download anything or connect to any web pages at all. I have limited experience with Centos so I’m not sure what to try. Is your connection still good on yours Andrew? I guess I’m going to have to make a support ticket.
Change your DNS in resolv.conf – here’s a tutorial. Use Google DNS 8.8.8.8 | 8.8.4.4
Thanks Andrew, you were right – I created a support ticket and Zachary responded to me within 3 minutes, he’s fixed it for me by changing the DNS settings like you said. I’m very impressed with how fast my ticket was responded to, top service! :D
Why would my DNS settings suddenly mess up like that? I’ve never had that happen to me before. Just wondering so I know what to watch out for in the future!
I think on a dedicated box, it is up to you to set up your network config where on a VPS they are pretty set by the templates from OVZ or whatever.
Ah I see, I just thought it was strange that it worked earlier in the day – I was visiting websites using firefox just fine. It’s good for me that it messed up actually, now I’ve learnt how to set the DNS servers myself for next time. Always learning eh! :P
I did a repeat test on the same file tonight:

At some points during the D/L it goes as high as 40M/s. If only my internet at home was this fast!

I ordered around 2 weeks. Last week, I called them to ask about my server. They told me coming Wednesday would be set up and they would send mail. I was still waiting this Wednesday. And then when i checked my mail this afternoon. I didn’t see any mail from wirework. That’why I sent mail about my server. After sending about 30 mins. They had refunded. I lost the hope in 1st Dedi server for me. I wanna use the Dedi.
Try not to loose hope my friend. I’m sure there are more on their way, it’s just a matter of time.

How are people getting on with these boxes? How’s uptime, network etc?
Also, it says port speed is 100mbit, but some people are doing wget tests that indicate it’s on gbit. Are they lucky or is that standard?
I have 1gig. No major issues.
Anyone been able to get IPv6 networking functioning on their machine? Other than my IPv6 routing broken, everything else seems decent.
