Cameron, from domVPS, writes me to inform us of his latest offers in Cheltenham, United Kingdom! This included a Raspberry Pi offer!

domVPS has been around for a while, with listings going back to 2011! These offers are all hosted on fully owned hardware, packing: an Intel Xeon X3450 @ 2.67GHz CPU, 32GB DDR3 ECC RAM, 4x 500GB hard drives configured in RAID10, and a 1Gbit/s uplink. I’ve seen several Raspberry Pi offers, but those were all colocation offers. To my knowledge, this is the first hosted Raspberry Pi offer we have! And it’s a nice offer at that. By default, SMTP ports will be closed to prevent spam/mass mail. If SMTP is required it can be opened by submitting a support ticket! Feel free to share your experiences with this offer in the comments, or at LowEndTalk!
domVPS accept PayPal for payments. They also offer a 7 day money back guarantee. They have recently setup two-factor authentication for clients to access their WHMCS billing account, by using time-based keys that can be used with Google Authenticator. The two-factor auth is an opt-in service which is not required by default. Proxy, VPN and Adult content is allowed. IRC clients only. As usual, take a look at their Terms of Service before signing up.

we should see more of these Raspberry Pi offers! and its cheap as chips!
What exactly can you do with the raspberry pi?
I use one as my mediaserver here at home and my DC hosts one for me at there datacenter in Oostkamp Belgium, use it as a web/mail/dns server.
Its limited by the not so fast cpu… good for static stuff, not so good dynamic.
But its a dedicated (small) machine, just for you…
What distro is Raspian OS based off of?
Debian 7 based.
Price is showing lower for the Pi on their website?
Must be their billing period – ignore!
perhaps thats an excluding vat figure on teh site?
Yep it is
Subtotal: £5.83GBP
UK VAT @ 20.00%: £1.17GBP
Total Due Today: £7.00GBP
First price without VAT, than showed with VAT for EU citizens
After a year would it mine?
Nice idea, give a cheap device worth 25$ for a rent for 12$ per month :)
And what this mean exactly? – Own your own Raspberry Pi in a Real Datacenter!?
Full marks for doing something a bit innovative with the Raspberry Pi offer.
btw a raspberry pi cost 35$ 512MB B version
But don’t forget your paying for the service too, bandwidth etc etc
For the Raspberry Pi – what make / class of SD Card? And any chance of extra (USB) storage on them? Anyone who gets one please post SD card stats!
Its only rent, not a get own after some time
I like the idea of the Raspberry Pi setup, but would prefer an option to eventually own the machine after X months of paying. Tough to justify $11/month when you could buy and build a Raspberry Pi machine for basically 8 months of service at that rate.
You’re forgetting the cost of the colocating it and power and IP space and bandwidth though…
I am impressed with the services domVPS provide. Cameron is a really nice guy and easy to deal with. I also really like the new UK location!
Thanks, Ben
why not just buy a Raspberry Pi and EDIS will host it for free?
FREE is not a FREE ,Edis a tricky with it, cost of IP, BW etc applied
Wrong. EDIS is hosting the Raspberry completely free of charge. Including Power, Bandwidth and Management to Hardreset your PI. Stop talking BS if you have no clue, thanks.
Hah :) What reason they do that? OK drop their VPS go to Pi for free. BS
How about if device or OS crashed? Travel to Austria for replace or repair 35$ device? Hah..
Because they can. Listen to Florian, because you’re talking out of your ass.
black you are idiot, or freeloader, or both, and have no idea what are talking about :D
EDIS are hosting my RPi for free too. I’m not sure why you think that we’re all lying about it? The thread on LET about it is here: http://lowendtalk.com/discussion/16090/edis-austria-providing-colocation-for-raspberry-pi-for-100-free/p1
Edis is doing it for free , 100 GB bandwidth included
EDIS also increase prices too much, and remove cheap yearly deals now all out of LEB range..
Then why don’t you go with EDIS and stop complaining about what domVPS charges? If domVPS wants to stay in business for a while, then they need to charge something.
I was just mentioning it for other people who weren’t aware it was an option.
EDIS own the DC in Australia
Shouldn’t be last tag be uk (http://lowendbox.com/tag/uk/) instead of united-kingdom (http://lowendbox.com/tag/united-kingdom/)?
Austria ups
Is there an advantage renting raspberry pi compared to Atom dedi for example?
No, the atom’s at ovh or whereever will beat the Pi hands down. Prices are similar but you get a lot more with the atom than with the Pi.
Thanks for confirming my thoughts.
r u serious for what i can see these offers are useless and over priced 100g bw lol 8 gig sd
£7
or get a dedi for £7 atom with full 100mp line give your head a wobble
Nice having pi offers, congrats
So did anyone order the Pi server? How is it?
I wanted to try it, but it’s out of stock :(
