LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

HostKana.com VPS Offer: 5GB KVM VPS for just $10/mo

Keith from HostKana just sent this offer over and I’m happy to share it with you all. This is the first time that we’re posting them, but they seem to have a few great deals that they’re willing to make LowEndBox exclusive, so we’ve decided to pass them along. Let us know what you think once you’ve had some time to test them out.

Their WHOIS is public and they are a registered company in the USA (#2016-000737015) and you can find their ToS here and the AUP here.

They accept PayPal, 2Co, Stripe, and Bitcoin.

In their own words:

This offer is for our Pooled Resource VPS product. Our Pooled Resource VPS product is unique because it allows customers to deploy VPS on-the-fly in any of our locations. In addition, we are one of the only KVM-based providers offering Pooled Resource VPS.

This offer is 100% exclusive to the LEB community.

If you purchase the “Big Kana” for one year, we will extend your due date by 3 months. That’s an extra 25% savings on top of this offer.

HostKana was formed in the final months of 2016 when there was a clear need for innovative hosting solutions that fit the needs of budget-conscious clients. With specific emphasis on the Pooled Resource VPS offering, HostKana is ready to take the market by storm by being one of the only KVM-based providers to offer Pooled Resource VPS. In addition, HostKana is offering DDoS-protected infrastructure, weekly backups, IPv6 support, and many great locations for these VPS. HostKana is currently offering VPS out of France and Canada.

What happened to the $7/mo limit?

    February 22, 2017 @ 8:54 pm | Reply
    • MasonR:

2/3 of the offers are below the limit, so this still qualifies. The last (more expensive) package is there just as an option to go bigger, if desired. Plenty of past offers on LEB follow this same principle.

    • MasonR:

But I do agree that the title of the offer should reflect one of the packages that are below the monthly cap.

I am interested in the big kana, how much would be the actual billing price per year, has any control panel,

        Regards,

        • The Big Kana is billed at $100 a year and it comes with ControlPanel to start, stop, create and destroy VPS but not CPanel, which you can either install yourself or purchase from HostKana for $15 a month.

Try to order the The Big Kana here at LEB and sends me to standard plan. Your site says 7 big kana left in the “LowEndBox – VPS Pool Hosting” section, that links also sends me to standard plan?

Ordered at 6am CST this morning and still no service… Finally got setup but no pool is working, cannot get IP to respond. I hope and pray this is only a fluke.

Windows is available to install? If so which? And if i buy the big kana resource pool, i can create more then 1 vps with my purchased resources?

    February 24, 2017 @ 4:28 am | Reply
  8. Nitin Naresh:

Worst of the worst services, I purchased the The Big Kana server from them 5 hours back.

None of the resource pool, I created works, it seems that a novice with no idea about hosting, cloud and resource pool has started a hosting company. No technical knowledge.

No feedback and response in last 5 hours. Do not recommend them at all.

I am going to dispute my money with paypal, I paid them for the entire year and if they do not resolve the issue, I will dispute my money with paypal today itself.

Yes, and also they will not give you 5 IP Addresses just one only .

5.7.1 During the first fourteen days of service you are entitled to a full, no questions asked refund excluding as set forth in sections 5.7, 5.7.2, 5.7.3, and 12.5; as well as exclusions listed in section 2 above. For the remaining time your refund will be prorated and factored at the full discretion of HostKana.

Part of their ToS. I’m gonna request a refund…

  11. Thanks all for the feedback. I did not like the fact that the owners of the provider did not refute even a single claim. There is only one Lowend provider who has successfully done the virtualization. I am not sure if I am allowed to mention in a post on another providers.
There is one provider who gives it and they are very responsive.
When I wanted more resources, they migrated me to the higher plan without any down time. I can assign any resource to any of my VMs and it is dynamically (no downtime).
The mentioned features are all possible, but I guess you need to have a mature provider.

I signed up with HostKana for their Big Kana plan. It took several hours after payment for them to activate my services. They have to manually provision the IP address once you create your VM. The first VM took a few hours for them to respond. The second VM has taken them a few days with only a “transferring to support department” even though the ticket was already in support. They have been nice and the VM seem stable but with a resource pool I should be able to create/drop VMs as needed and not have to wait several days for an IP address to get assigned.

I have put in a cancellation and refund request.

Had high hopes for these tried them out with the big kana and all went well for about 6 hours then i lost the ability to boot or reinstall vp’s in the cluster i submitted a ticket and got a explanation and found they had apparently resolved the issue, went to build another vps and again the same problem in the end i decided i was wasting way to much time and requested a refund, after 4 days still no refund it took the threat of opening a paypal dispute to have them return the funds.

    Shame but lesson learnt

    Not recommended!

They offer poor service and even more poor support. Lost 2 times the connection in 1 week, and after raising a support ticket waiting for ages for a response.
On their website they claim average response time of 23 minutes???…which is just a lie.

I cancelled the service, there is better value for money outthere.

Going on month #2 and my VPS is down again. Sent a ticket in over 5 hours ago and still no response. Their WHMCS panel cant even connect to the node. I think I’ll be cancelling soon.

Well, after 48 hours of “We’re trying to figure out why our node is down” replies, I cancelled and requested a refund since I havent had any service since my last payment. We’ll see how that goes. This company is a fast sinking ship.
