      I agreed with you back in November/beginning of December. But since then I have had almost 100% uptime and no other problems. I was even so pleased that my box was up and running good I bought a second one (the $15/y in Dallas). It is also pretty darn good.

          My node is VZ70DLTX. I have to wait for more than 12 hours to have it fixed, and it’s working now. It’s better than no maintenance at all, but I have to rethink to use this service if I want to use this vps for a critical business. I think I want to give a try for another month.

    Seriously if anyone paying $10/yr shouldn’t complain much. There is always the option to dispute via Paypal.

    Occasional downtime on certain nodes but otherwise pretty decent for personal proxy and some very light webserver/sql load. I’m on the 256/512M plans not 128 though.

  4. I have 1 chicago VPS with good uptime & performance, 3x $15/year Dallas for testing & web proxy and a $10/year Dallas for my dns.

    I had a $10/month Dallas, but unfortunately the CPU power & I/O cannot cope with the beefy RAM, so no matter how I tweak it, the performance is not as expected, so I just dropped it and I just stick to the low end packages.

      Likewise. I’ve been quite happy with the performance of my two VMs in Chicago. Then again, they’re smaller VMs, and I’m not trying to run Minecraft or mine CPU bitcoins or something intensive like that, but, still… good network, good uptime, good price. Dallas might be a very different experience, I dunno…

    I’ve had a $10 VPS from 123systems for nearly a year now and the service has been mediocre at best. I/O is fast at times but horrible during some hours. Tickets are closed with no response on a regular basis and support is about as rude as it gets.

    The only thing that makes this worth keeping is the price and datacenter locations. It’s hard to find a VPS located in Dallas (or most anywhere else, for that matter) near this price.

We got a VPS from 123systems just to use for backups of backup nameservers (2nd layer of backups), and they were great until they insisted that we pre-pay for a year for a multiple month discount. After that, they (I actually think it’s only one guy named” Chris”) became awful. Trying to scam people I guess…It’s a shame considering how great they were prior to that. Always received a response within 5 minutes of opening a ticket, very polite staff, willing to help out in any situation, etc.

    To elaborate:

    We had a filesystem issue where our disk quota unexpectedly jumped to zero, and after opening up a ticket it was randomly closed 8 hours later without any response. Upon inquiring, we received this reply word for word: “This has been corrected for quite some time, you simply had to go check.” That’s not very good customer service…in addition, the problem seemed to have been corrected at least 5 hours after we opened the ticket. Now of course we inquired about this, and once again the ticket was simply closed without a response.

    We ignored it, as this isn’t a critical VPS, and moved on. Well I decided to ask again about 2 months later. Just like before, they closed our ticket a few hours later and did not respond. At the same time, I also opened a ticket after noticing that our VPS appeared to be rebooting about every 10 days. Chris M (the same person who replies to every single ticket) replied: “It appears the container is online now, if you have any further problems then let us know. In the future try to open tickets within 24 hours of the incident.” Again, pretty terrible customer service…the current status of the ticket is “Postponed.” Not quite sure what that means…

    Already moved our business elsewhere. We wouldn’t have put up with this had it been something we actually thought we would need.

    Yes, you can’t expect much for such low prices, but it’s still money wasted if you are only using it for non-critical purposes like we were. Glad we didn’t spend any more money on it then we did. In addition, these people (or person) are/is clearly just a scam. I really don’t want to see people waste their money on scams, whether it’s $10 or $1000.

    • I’ve always questioned their attempts at a $10/y VPS on a 100% rented platform. The VM’s must be sold simply as float for the month and not as something to actually make a profit on.

    They suck. If you order something with add-ons you have to log a ticket to have the add-ons applied. That is if he tickets do not misteriously dissapear. The speed at times is very back. You type a letter and it takes 3 seconds to appear on screen. Very frustrating.

    I have had a VPS with them for a year now. So far I have liked them for the cost but tickets take a long time to get fixed if its support/technical related. But it looks like either speed stepping or they have been taking away cpu core resources by lowering the clock speed.

    and i just put my website to the vps few days ago

    3 days ago i got an email, they suspended my vps
    This is a notification that your service has now been suspended. The details of this suspension are below:

    I guess I do not need to go around and dig out how many bad reviews there is for them, and I am not saying they are perfect, however for what I have paid (15USD a year), I think it served well as a backup box.

    I know this isn’t 123systems tech support, but a bit of public exposure sometimes does wonders.

    Does anyone have any idea of how long it normally takes for the add-ons to be applied to the VPS? I was expecting 48-72 hours but right now I’ve been waiting for almost two weeks after paying (obviously).

    I was reasonably happy with my 192MB special, after all for USD15 a year it worked and the uptime wasn’t that bad. But the complete lack of any tech support is annoying.

    And yeah…if you start a support ticket with them, you’ll pretty much be talking to yourself.

    Also, I guess a Paypal dispute won’t do much good as those aren’t tangible goods, am I right?

    Sorry for the off-topic post, I know those are annoying.

    Well i have to say that 123systems has defiantly gone down hill since i joined them a year ago.. One vps has been of line for over a week now and every support ticket has mysteriously vanished from their support system. Have even emailed Andrew direct and he has not replied to to two emails.. Wish i had not renewed with them a couple of weeks ago.

    Lowcost but this a bulls*it vps…
    if unfortunately you have a DDos attack your server is nullrouted for 24 hours…
    Iptables modules are disabled… so you can’t secure your self

    and support is very very slow… you can get your vps after 1 week if you make a new command… 1 to 2 days to get a response if you ask the support… for 5 tickets >> 0 resolved…

    pannel disabled for a time 0 exploit… a big bullsh*t hoster ! as custumer am very disappointed.

    Been with them for 3 years now. Had a few outages but not much to speak of until now. Server went down in the beginning of July with no explanation. Filed a ticket and eventually got a reply they are moving the container to their other data center and that I will receive a mail with a new IP-address. Now it’s 4 weeks later and August since server went down and no mail in sight. But they dare to send an invoice and expect me to pay for no service at all. I’m afraid I will take my business elsewhere.
