All Simple - £4.20 384MB Xen VPS in UK

All Simple Here is another UK-based VPS provider. Martin from All Simple Internet Services emailed me their new Xen VPS offer. They have taken their 256MB VPS plan, give it a 30% off discount and then 50% more memory and disk. £4.20/month (~USD$6.73) when you use this ordering link. Again, VAT would be applied by default, but will be removed once you fill in the details and are coming from a country outside of EU.

  • 384MB memory/512MB swap
  • 15GB storage
  • 200GB/month data transfer
  • Xen

They have also moved off BlueSquare and into TVHC2, Reading, Berkshire, UK (see this announcement in their forums). Looks like DediPower and test IP is 46.236.2.20 (AllSimple.net was on this IP for a short while). Also note that they don’t use SolusVM as they use Debian for their base platform — I would have voted +1 for that :)

Company established in May 2010. From the look of it IPv6 is “up-coming”, although interestingly all 4 of its NS have IPv6 addresses.

  4. Pete:

Does anybody have a VPS from both All Simple and VooServers ?

I am just wondering how they compare as both have decent reviews.

    • I have VooServers (both 128MB XEN offer and a custom 512MB XEN). I am in both their DCs (Maidstone & Sittingbourne). Not a single downtime in all these months, support is superfast, sometimes the replies to my ticket come within seconds (unbelievable). They use SolusVM

IO is always above 70MB/sec, network speed is always 7MB/sec+
Sometimes (30% of the day) I am even using 80% CPU core (as reported by Cacti)

I have never tried All Simple. so I cannot say anything about them, but I am a bit concerned over the custom panel but still VooServer-style pricing.

I thought it’s normal for non solus vps provider to have the same (or even higher) pricing than solus (ie: linode, rapidxen/kvm) :P btw, What’s the custom panel looks like? is it web based or cli?

    • Also have a VPS with VooServers – Pretty much the same as above – Disk I/O seems to hang around 70MB/s.

  5. Hello,
Huge +1 for All Simple, Support is great! Usually answer within 15 minutes (though I don’t have to open tickets much since their service so awesome). The servers are fast, good I/O, good network! Give them a try, there servers get good uptime, before the DC move my server was on 98 days uptime (last reboot was me), and since the move the server has been running smoothly:
    12:08:32 up 35 days, 3 min, 1 user, load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00

Give them a go, it’s worth it.

    • Oh and.. No need to worry about the control panel it’s great! Does everything you might need :).

  6. I’ve been with All Simple for a long time now, somewhat around 5 months. I was coming from a horrible provider that gave me nothing but lag and downtime, so I raised my budget and found All Simple, at the time I was up for trying anyone, I first contacted them, found out a bit about what they offer and decided to go for them. Since then, I looked no further – support is outstanding, servers are fast at all times, no downtime or any issues whatsoever, if you do come across something that worries you, Martin is always there to answer your questions and help you with whatever. Martin takes a good care of the company and is a friendly guy in general, worked with him in real life and you can take my word on trusting him.

Their VPS cpanel and client area in general is more than enough to control all aspects of your services, so I wouldn’t worry about that if you are looking for functionality.

I’d say 10/10, the service is just great, really worth the money. +100 for All Simple!

  7. I’d like to also add that I run a busy VPS, including a web server, several game and voice servers, and all of them perform great!

    22:56:49 up 26 days, 9:53, 2 users, load average: 0.12, 0.28, 0.35
    1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 14.5447 s, 73.8 MB/s

Never had any lag on my servers that would be caused by anyone else other than me ;)

I have 3 vps with them and I can say they are the best provider I have. Very good support and long uptimes.

I had a 128mb vps with them, just to test them out. Everything went fine, so now I got this offer to host some sites. Friendly and quick support, nice uptime, the vps performance is fine,
as for the custom control panel, it has everything you’ll need : console access, shutdown, reboot, boot, rdns, bandwidth usage, os reinstallation etc.
Compared to vooservers …….hmm i think it’s a tie, both excellent providers.
Somethings worth mentioning, they offer free dns and 1gb backup space

  10. Waiting until their IPv6 support, I’ll try one.

    • We will be sure to let you know once we do get IPv6, we are still waiting on our network upstream to complete their testing right now.

  11. After having two previous OpenVS VPS’s from this website and having a very poor service with both resulting in raid failures and data loss I decided to try a Xen VPS from All Simple and am very impressed with their service and performance.

It’s still early days to tell how they are with reliability but the reviews I have seen all point to positive.

    Here are some tests

    • Where you got your previous OpenVZs from?

      August 3, 2011 @ 11:13 am | Reply
      • The first one I had was from http://www.itexperts.mu – they apparently had a problem with one of their nodes which resulted in Ovh taking all their servers offline. They said they had DDOS attacks also which resulting in my VPS being restarted from time to time.

Secondly I ordered from http://www.qualityservers.co.uk – the support was good there, alot better then itexperts – however the raid failure lost my faith in them – this might be slightly unjust – but I guess that’s what you get with sub £3 VPS’s

Another +1 for All Simple – I’ve had a server there for 8 months now. Great uptime, superb performance and excellent support. Highly recommended, especially at this price. A million times better than some of the fly-by-night operations.
