Have you recovered from this morning’s cPanel price increase shocker, that sadly really isn’t a shock?
Then here’s a pop quiz: which other popular hosting provider software regularly shoves price increases down its subscribers’ throats?
Don’t think too hard.
Yes, Oakley Capital is at it again, raising prices on WHMCS. Because as they “continue to deliver the most comprehensive web hosting automation platform on the market” they have “expanded our products, features, and services.”
Hello,
We are contacting you today to notify you of a pricing adjustment that will affect your existing account, subscriptions, or services.
We realize that any price change directly influences your business, so we aim to provide transparency as soon as possible. This pricing adjustment will be applied automatically from January 1st, 2024. There is no action you need to take at this time and the new prices are published in the 2024 WHMCS Customer License Guide. https://assets.whmcs.com/customer-licensing-guide-2024.pdf
As we continue to deliver the most comprehensive web hosting automation platform on the market, we have expanded our products, features, and services to encompass:
- Increased overall security, purchase flows, and user experiences
- Additional reselling opportunities via MarketConnect
- Integrations for streamlined domain management and registration
- Improved detection and system reporting for custom template and email compatibility
Thank you for your continued business and trust. We understand you might have questions, and we invite you to contact us. Please visit https://www.whmcs.com/submit-a-ticket to open a ticket.
Sincerely,
The WHMCS Team
Seems like pretty weak sauce to me. “Overall user experiences”, “additional opportunities”, “integrations for streamlined”, and “email compatibility” sound like marketing sparkle dust on a nothing burger.
And the price increase is steep!
Product | Old Price | New Price |
Plus (250 Clients) | $18.95 | $24.95 |
Professional (500 Clients) | $29.95 | $39.95 |
Business (1000 Clients) | $44.95 | $59.95 |
Business (5000 Clients) | $99.95 | $129.95 |
Business (10000 Clients) | $174.95 | $224.95 |
Plus was $18.95/month. Now it’ll be $24.95/month. That’s a 32% increase – wow.

Would you say WHMCS will be a 32% better product in 3 months? If so, Oakley Capital must be blackmailing you into saying that because it won’t be.
