      I too ordered one when they did their last special. One thing I notice is that they seem to restart their servers very often, every day or two they restart it. It has been up something over 11 hours now for example.

    • You’ll receive a pool of bandwidth resources based on your plan, and you can allocate/distribute them to your VM(s) however you like. All VPS are deployed with a 1Gbps port.

    Support says me new reason each time: network problems, another client, node problems, whatever.

    Hope they will refund money, as it just wasting of money.

      I deleted my VPSs in the pool after the support staff was not telling me why the virtual servers were randomly going offline. I requested a cancellation but no answer so far. This service is not production ready. You are better of with a low-end dedicated server instead.

            I’m pretty happy with my BigFootServers pool, their Dallas location has been fairly stable/consistent for me. I can’t comment on their LA location yet as I have no experience, but I’ll try to spin up another DNS server there, and report back with the uptime statistics.

            I can’t say the same, but I guess… YMMV? especially in the world of LEB VPS’s.

            The point is though if the product page advertises 99.9% uptime and the actual uptime deteriorates to 25-33% uptime after a few weeks it is not acceptable regardless of what you are paying. At the time of ordering the plan was for only 8 instances which has now changed to 10. There was no way for me to have known let alone predicted the unreliable service let alone the difference in reliability of location of the servers. Now they want to credit the amount I paid for a service, that I did not receive as advertised, to stay with them and waste more of my precious time. Their excuse is a “guarantee period” when in reality if they fail to deliver the service the guarantee period cannot apply because the service was not delivered as advertised. The issues with the datacenters are not my problem it’s theirs to deal with. They should factor that in their business plan and not expect customers to pay for a service that is not being delivered. Neither should customers be treated like potential spammers or scammers. If your resources are limited but you advertise lots of available resources in your products it is false advertising.

    Dear BigFoot, been with you for a week or so. Thus far totally satisfied. I got flamed on LowEndTalk for saying so. You don’t have any friends over there that’s for sure. I would kindly ask that you add US East services: VA, NY, NJ one of those large data center locations/NAPs. Any chance for that any time soon? Finally, and this is a long shot… but a European footprint would be fantastic, followed by Asia. Try to keep it at the same pricepoint–that’s the key. Please advise.

    Concept is great but I do wish I had not paid a year up front.
    Unable to allocate vswap myself … support has to do it for you.
    If you are running any program for large CPU utilization for more than 20 minutes they will kill the program and then will continue to kill it if you restart it within a matter of seconds. Which means crypto MN guys stay away as initial daemon builds do use some decent processing power on initial wallet sync.
    I know if I cancel I lose all my money, so stuck with this.

    great idea though guys and no doubt has an exploitable market.

  23. Just a waste of time and money. I ordered a 2 VPS Instance Pool and it was the worst decision I’ve ever made. The total uptime for the VPS was 15% (YES FIFTEEN)
    i opened 2 support tickets in total and got the generic reply “Your VPS is working fine”. Man you really changed my life -.-
    after sending a screenshots of the backend says IT IS OFFLINE he finally believed me i got “We have resolved your issue.Kindly verify it from your end.”.
    and in the very next day the service went down again :)
    I requested a cancellation 2 days ago and got nothing until now

    Not a good service for cryptocurrency Masternode hosting. Crypto currency Masternode hosting is not the same as cryptocurrency mining but for whatever reason Bigfoot simply suspends account for holding a masternode wallet that uses very little CPU and very little bandwidth.

          I am using an Opteron X2150 dedicated server on servdiscount.com and the performance is great for the price. The support staff do a reasonably good job as they resolved all the issues that I had albeit my command of the German language helped a lot. I think they do know English as well.

      Good. I hope they continue to kick out the stupid miners and masternodes people in order to keep the service stable for people like me who have a legitimate use.

      I don’t have any issues with BigFootServers here either, I think it is just the people who are hosting bitcoin hosting that are complaining because they get suspended. Reality is, bitcoin hosting/mining/masternodes causes high CPU and deteriorates the performance for the legit people like me.

        I know mining stuff is very high intensive cpu but masternodes you are wrong about it, here running two masternodes in a little vps without any problems of cpu abuse or anything else:

        18:53:15 up 85 days, 2:06, 1 user, load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00

        I think maybe some mistake people do or enable mining stuff in their daemon/wallet conf I don’t know but don’t blame masternodes if you don’t know about it.

          Yes. Masternodes typically only use 20-45 mins of CPU time a day. A few use a little more. The rest of the time they are idle.

          I think part of the problem is the stat they monitor is the average load which includes the CPU waiting for I/O. Since these are on spinning drives (I believe) it exaggerates the “cpu load” of masternodes during those time. Once the load is “high” (cpu+I/O wait time) for 20-30 mins their system will reboot your VPS (automatically I think)

          There are plenty of use cases that are fully, without question, within their terms and conditions that can cause this too. As seen in some of the other complaints people have had.

          The solution in these circumstances, IMHO, is to find a server that does not share cores across servers and preferably on a SSD instead of shared spinning drives. i.e. a less fragile server.

          I recommend they remove the mining example and keep the crypto-currency restriction or add masternodes as an example too. As someone who knows the difference, when I see distributed computing and mining together as restrictions I would not consider masternodes to fall into that category they seem to be describing.

          They are very responsive and nice though

          NOTE: the opinions stated are based on extended observations. The actual reasons may be different.

            Chris, that is not even the problem. The servers that I was on did not even work for hosting bog standard low-traffic email and websites. It has been the worst OpenVZ service that I have ever used.

          Good luck getting your money back from those crooks. PayPal “resolved” the dispute in those liars’ favour. Alex claimed I used the service to its fullness when it takes time to set it up. At random times they would shut down the VPSs which renders emails and web hosting inoperable. These people need to be banned from Low End Box because they are ripping people off for very poor service.

    I have had nothing but issues with their service, server always going offline. I asked for a refund and they kept giving me the run around and said they would give me a refund then pulled the rug under my feet, citing their TOS and 3 days.. They strung me along for 2 weeks, I wouldn’t go with them because their reliability is horrible, but because their customer support is terrible.

    Think the morale of this story is, if it’s too good to be true and to research VPS companies, not only for their reliable server, but the customer support to.

    Here is the past 2 weeks of the circle jerk they gave me..

    Please cancel and refund me, I have had nothing but constant connection issues with my vps pool, it doesn’t stay up for more than an hour without going down. It’s impossible to get anything installed and tested. I can’t move any production sites or databases over to this service and have any confidence that I wont have issues.     Bigfoot does not create backup snapshots of its vm containers for disaster recovery.
    If you have any sort of issue their response is “it crashed, recreate the VM”. They have the option to rebuild, but trying that did nothing, just broke it more.
    I asked them for logs. They say they don’t have logs.
    I asked them how did they know it crashed if they didn’t get some sort of kernel dump at least.
    Now they want to “check into it”.
    Seems that thesupport team is not native english speaking and their first response is to put the workload on the customer rather than ivestigate.
    Not impressed.
    Trying to stick it through in case they get better, so far 3/10 because I can at least deploy a server. Nothing else gets points cause I seen nothing ense orth talking about.
    I work in the industry at an enterprise level. this was supposed to save me running servers at home, not so much so far.

Some notes on commenting on LowEndBox:

  • Do not use LowEndBox for support issues. Go to your hosting provider and issue a ticket there. Coming here saying "my VPS is down, what do I do?!" will only have your comments removed.
