Boomer.Host: Free Stickers with Every Order! $7.95/Year for a 1GB VPS!

Boomer.Host Logo

Hello, Boomer.Host!

Some hosts are deadly serious when it comes to their names and some prefer a bit of humor and I don’t have to tell you which category Boomer.Host falls into.  However the proprietor seems serious about it – at least enough to have enough capital to operate for six months.  Proceed at your own risk.

However, you’re not risking much.  $7.95/year for a 1GB VPS is a pretty extraordinary offer.  It is OpenVZ 7 and for some reason, you’re only getting one ipv6 instead of the standard /64, but for these prices it’s hard to complain.

All US clients will receive a free Boomer.Host sticker with their order!

They are registered in US (as DFDB LLC, 2021-000991618). Their Terms of Service is available on their web site. They accept credit cards.

Here’s a little about Boomer.Host in their own words:

“We have been around for many years and we’re now more than 2 year old. We fully own all our VPS server hardware and have collocated it with Josh at Data Ideas. We specialize in OpenVZ 7 VPS with the goal to make it as affordable as possible for any application.”

Remember that the LEB community would love to hear about your experience in the comments section below!

“SMTP and all mailing ports are also blocked permanently”?

Not much use for any business if cannot send email.

Sure, but this is to stop abuse. Many other major providers such as Digitalocean also completely block mailing ports.

Did you know that the mailing ports are actually only blocked on IPv4, so you could still use this service to send mail over IPv6.

No, I did not know that, or did not see that stated.

Major providers may block mailing ports, but those of us that buy VPS boxes for business use avoid those providers. I buy up small vps boxes, sit on them for at least 6 months to make sure they are solid, then recycle them for small local businesses. Small local businesses count on email to survive and I have not had a single one abuse email services – but I know my customers.

Anyway, thanks for reply and wishing you much success.

Perhaps a brand-new $8/year service with no reputation and an ironically-trashy mascot is not what a mission-critical business should be relying on. I’m sure it’s a great deal and they’ll do their best to provide quality services (perfect for hobbyists and extreme deal-seekers), but “you get what you pay for” still usually applies at some level.

    • Yeah it’s very good. Another thing is that my ISP doesn’t have support for IPv6, but with this I can setup a VPN and get IPv6 :)

  5. Apparently NameCheap is doing Black Friday differently this year and offering deals from Friday-Monday and not limiting stock.

Will the price be fixed or change in renewals?

      July 29, 2021 @ 3:11 am | Reply
      • Price might change to match inflation. Although it’s not really a price increase then, just that your dollar has lost purchasing power.

In short, I plan to offer same renewal price.

“Do you have permission to install irc server?” You can install what you want on your VPS as long as it’s nothing illegal.

Good offer, but I was surprised to find not only outgoing SMTP but even incoming SMTP blocked. That’s a bit absurd and I certainly hope for it to change.

  9. Customer:

I have just purchased a VPS and IP forwarding doesn’t work. Using a RHEL clone with masquerade and ip forwarding in the configuration. Was planning to use as my private website and tailscale (wireguard) box. I did try and create a ticket but it just takes me back to the support page.
