Vladimir from CheapVPS emailed me an update on their LowEndBox offer. Two months ago it was 4 pound for 256MB KVM with 25 available. How the offer has shrunk! :) Only 10 available this time, and £3/month (~USD$4.92) for the following VPS
- 128MB memory/128M swap
- 10GB storage (on 15k RPM SAS drives)
- 250GB/month data transfer
- 2x IPv4 addresses
- KVM/SolusVM
Direct sign up link here. PayPal or credit card. 20% VAT is payable for those who need to pay them. CheapVPS claimed to be “Experts in KVM administration (we’ve been offering KVM since 2008)” — before KVM was even supported by SolusVM. Servers in Maidenhead UK with BlueSquare (test IP: 213.229.125.102). 96MB had done an extensive test of CheapVPS’s service when I posted their KVM service last time. They have also sent me the IO test result from their SAS-drives setup:
root@debian:~$ dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync 16384+0 records in 16384+0 records out 1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 4.23768 s, 253 MB/s
YMMV with a full server though. CheapVPS is an established brand since 2007 (though gone through some change-hands).

Thanks for posting the offer LEA!
Regarding the comment “before KVM was even supported by SolusVM” – this is correct, we had our own panel for managing KVMs before we moved them over to Solus. We also joined the Open Virtualisation Alliance last month to promote KVM adoption.
Cheers,
Greg
