  1. Good price. One question I always wanted to ask. Are they using shared storage for the virtual machine or local datastore?

A quick question, Ive used VMWare before on my homeserver but it was a cupple of years ago, if i buy one of these i will be able to put any ISO on it i want? And how do i get the ISO on it? E.g is there a “remote file upload” or can i supply a link to a file on the internet and will it download it for me?
(i live in a rural area so uploading a ISO of 3/4GB would take me the best part of a week lol).

    Thanks,
    Will

    • We have two options:

      1) You can attach an ISO from your local PC.
      2) You can ask us to attach an ISO for you, even a custom one as a long as you provide a direct download link.

A third option is available on our EU servers which is an NFS share access which allows you to select an ISO from our servers for the more common operating systems. We will deploy the same functionality to our USA locations in the next few days.

Whats the speed like when you attach an ISO from your PC? Like does all the data still have to go over the internet so is really slow unless you have a fast internet connection?

Also, are you able to add e.g Windows 7 Image to the datastore so i could just add my own serial?

        Thanks,
        Will

I assume you could install any old OS on it, remote in, wget/whatever the ISO you want, then upload it to their panel from your VPS?

It is really good and they responded me when I needed it for assistant.

what is the cost for extra BW?

    April 8, 2012 @ 4:35 pm | Reply
    • Yes as long as the VPN is for personal use only. Extra Bandwidth $10 per TB.

I am willing to give my forum friends accounts to pass (and be protected from) our ISP monitoring
        is this allowed?

just an opinion, I think as long I am not abusing or jumping over “my” vps account limits, it is ok to do whatever legal with it like selling vpn accounts.

        April 8, 2012 @ 7:39 pm | Reply
        • VPN / Proxy access must be recorded and logs provided if requested by us or legal authorities. This is why we are very cautious about the reselling of VPN services on our VPS nodes.

    • Each Host has Gigabit connectivity and then each VPS node is restricted to 100mbit.

Since the coupon code works for the US locations too, are we allowed to order the US location using the coupon code?

Or was that just a mistake and the coupon isn’t valid for US?

I would very much rather get a US location.

    April 8, 2012 @ 7:59 pm | Reply
    • No this is a limitation of WHMCS. The coupon may work for all locations but we may decline it if it’s used for a non UK location. It really depends on availability at the location you selected.

      April 8, 2012 @ 9:35 pm | Reply
      • Di Wu:

So, are you saying that for certain US locations, the coupon is legitimate? Can you just tell me which US location (if any) I can use the coupon for please?

        Thanks

        April 8, 2012 @ 10:32 pm | Reply
  9. The only one at this moment would be Phoenix. However that might change depending on availability.

    April 8, 2012 @ 11:14 pm | Reply
  10. I suggest the coupon code can used for all locations .

Kakashi hope you can accept .

    April 9, 2012 @ 1:58 am | Reply
    • The best thing to do is to just check with our Live Chat or email admin@corgitech.com and I you will get an up to date availability status on our nodes. I just had a new client enquire about our NYC location and we could accommodate him. So the best thing to do is ask.

We don’t have the capacity at our USA locations for this offer to be guaranteed. Besides the Phoenix location in the USA and UK locations in the EU, we are at 80-85% capacity on our servers. The final 10% or so is reserved for clients that do not use any promotional code.

Since we don’t oversell we can’t allow this code to be used at any location.

These guys are solid. My VPS with them has performed impressively so far (I’ve had it a bit longer than this post has been up), support is excellent. Not all DC are available all the time so you may not get it where you want it, but like I said, their stuff is good!

Probably the best VMware VPS provider out there…

We have a couple of different VPSs with them since last year (Linux and windows). And tried US/UK and NL (currently all at UK/NL) … The quality is really great for the price.

I should also add that its not always about the service and its really important who you deal with. In terms of Corgitech the owner is a really nice guy.

And the service/support provided is definitely not low end. Its absolutely worth the price without the 50% discount…

I have been a really happy customer with Corgi Tech since January. I got their Ultimate VPS (2 GB) plan on a super good deal posted on WHT. Support is crazy fast. Junaid is very nice and helpful. It is obvious he wants his customers happy.

    Hi,

i too can vouch for Corgi Tech’s professional service and quality of the product. I’ve hosted a site since feb in their dutch DC, and while there has been disruptions (DDOS targeting other customers), I’ve received fast and detailed information, not only regarding the disruptions, but Junaid has been fast to offer solutions.

Performance is very good too, both in terms of I/O and CPU.
    Typical DD-test:

     dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync
    16384+0 poster in
    16384+0 poster ut
    1073741824 byte (1,1 GB) copied, 5,20178 s, 206 MB/s

There is definitely a learning curve on vSphere compared to solus etc, but once you get to know it its quite neat.

I now have 2 nodes from them in NYC, and I am pretty happy. There were some issues with the Dallas location, but that was out of my hands and Corgi’s; I ended up having my node in DFW moved to NYC, and it has been a better experience so far.

I signed up to corgitech a few days ago, I have had issues that they tried to fix for me but ended up reinstalling (was most likely problems created by me) the servers are very fast! and support is at hand very quickly.

I am hosted in the UK, but wonder if I can get more ram for the vps?

    • Yes it is for the life of the VPS. Either the UK or NL would be fine for Eastern Europe. However we don’t have any more room in NL.

    3-4 slots – USA East
9-10 Slots – USA WEST (Phoenix)
    50+ – UK

The rest is pretty much full.

  27. First time trying out a VMWare VPS. Junaid has been exceptionally tolerant of my worrisome demands, cant say that for many out there. However, i do really wish he would come up with a backup addon product that one can use to save snapshots of the VPS.

    Good work Junaid.
