IPv6 is only available by request at their Jacksonville location. Also two IPv4’s are available by default in Jacksonville.

Crissic Solutions, LLC was founded in April 2013 and are incorporated as an LLC in Missouri. By the looks of it, Skylar isn’t new to the hosting industry, but he seems to have recently came back to the hosting game properly. He has since advertised a transparency policy and has already expanded past their primary location, Jacksonville, to Los Angeles. Recently, they have acquired some IP space directly from ARIN and have their own AS (AS62639). Their nodes in Jacksonville use the Dual Xeon L5520 and in LA they’re using the E3-1270v3, with at least 36GB and 32GB DDR3 ECC RAM in their respective locations. It was mentioned that LA has SSD caching and hardware RAID. There haven’t been many reviews recently, but the general gist is positive. I also found a single, but detailed, review on LET.

Crissic accept payments via both Stripe and PayPal with a 10 day money back policy as standard. Additional IPv4 addresses are $0.50 in JAX and $1 in LA per month for this promotion. In short, their AUP forbids IRC, Bittorrent, P2P, Warez, spamming, or anything illegal in the USA, however does permit private proxies and VPNs. Interestingly enough they never charge for bandwidth overages, once you hit your allocated limit your VPS’s port speed will be limited to 10Mbit which is pretty handy. Backups are made weekly on VPS nodes but of course you are encouraged to keep your own backups, they also have a fairly detailed step by step process for spam/bulk e-mailing. Their TOS is available here and AUP here.

    August 23, 2013 @ 9:08 pm | Reply
    • We’re looking into the specific IO results in this benchmark, I think some of it may be tied to vpsmon but we’re looking at getting it resolved. We’re showing results significantly better (150-180 on average from the host node) so we’ll see where the issue lies.

For the record, the I/O hasn’t gotten any better. For most of the past 24 hours, it went down, averaging ~45 MB/s.

It’s now back up to around ~70 MB/s but if that’s half of what it’s supposed to be, I’m not seeing it and I have severe reservations that it’ll actually double any time soon.

          August 25, 2013 @ 12:33 am | Reply
        • The primary issue at the moment is the fact that this is a brand new node and has filled rapidly as a result of this LEB post. If you’d like we can migrate you to a different node that should provide better results, but as of now we’re still seeing a sizable IO activity on this node as we received a large amount of orders between yesterday and today that have been provisioned on this node. We are working to get more drives in for a server we have on site to get another node spun up as well.

          August 25, 2013 @ 12:38 am | Reply
        • For comparison’s sake, the node that is being provisioned on at the moment is returning 80.2MB/s while our oldest node that is pretty active and full is returning results of 154 MB/s

We’re actively monitoring services and have removed a few abusers, and are looking into other possible issues with disk Io as well.

    • Just sent out an email to all existing clients detailing our software used to prevent excessive abuse. Disk IO tests are automatically “niced” to not be prioritized over standard non-benchmark processes, which will result in significantly lower and/or widely different results between tests. If anyone wants REAL up to date test screenshots without vpsmon-io being a factor toss us a ticket and we’ll run it on the node.

This measure is simply in place to prevent abuse and make sure our service is running as best as possible at all times for all users. Benchmarking is not considered abuse, just has a lower priority due to the nature of what is being ran.

Well this is a mini review of my crissic experience.
I went to lowendbox to find a cheap vps because i dont know how to work my dedicated server (i hate ipmi)
I choosed crissic because it was cheap and they have ipv6 and the no bandwidth limit is a steal!
SO i order but then saw for some reason i could not pay by paypal, so i decided i had to cancel.
well i didnt mind i had my dedicated server and they were trying to help me – but i decided this is just too much trouble.
so i contacted crissic and Skylar MacMinn replied ainl, that it was no problem and within 2 minutes my vps order was in pending again – so i used paypal checkout (instead of subscription which i could not do)
Order went through and vps was set up – Skylar MacMinn is super fast at replying to support tickets and does take the time needed to help customers.
I had a few more questions and asked about ipv6 – it was all done within 10 minutes.

I will do a full review once i been with them for a month.

    • Ips are relatively new (If you are on the 162.218.xx ip range that was created at the start of the month. 162.220.xx IP range was within the last 2 weeks) — Unfortunately geolocation services can take up to 90 days to update the Location of new allocated IP ranges, and some websites that rely on geolocation freak out and spit out random results.

If you require your IP to have a location proper on it I’d suggest putting in a ticket and requesting to be placed on our 162.218 range, that will update a few weeks ahead of the 162.220 range (note that it isn’t updated at this point though).

OP says “1Gbit port” — I’ve done tests every so often and only gotten around 80-100 Mbits/s on the upload side. Around 230-260 Mbits/s on the download side.
When I do want to actually make use & profit, this may hold me back :3

    Hi,

Is the promo for $1.64 with coupon code: LEB45 no longer available? Because when I want to order it, the price is $2.99/mo. And it said: The promotion code you entered has been applied to your cart but no items qualify for the discount yet – please check the promotion terms

Is there any solution for this?

    Thanks.
