LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

DiverseWeb - £2.50 128MB VMWare VPS

DiverseWeb Via this WHT offer. Looks like DiverseWeb, who took pre-order packages at the end of May, actually went live and started providing really low cost VMWare VPS hosting. For £2.50/month (USD$3.73) + the current promotion you can get

  • 128MB memory
  • 5GB storage
  • 50GB/month data transfer
  • VMWare

As of the location of the server, rather than SingleHop, Wholesale Internet it is now at HostNOC in Scranton. Moreover, you can also use promo code FREEWINDOWS to get free Windows! Although I am not sure how well would Windows run on 128MB of memory (unless it’s Windows 95 that you are using). Moreover, I am not sure where you can get free Windows license. But I guess everything is possible if you can get VMWare license at that price point :)

  1. Hello,

Thank you for posting this, we can offer low cost VPS hosting due to buying licenses in bulk.

  2. I highly recommed DiverseweB as they really do REAL 24/7 support at a BUDGET price.
Although I didn’t order anything from them I talked to their member of staff for around 2hrs just to understand how they do things and etc…
I am going to try them out at a later time and we will see ;)

  3. What about the VMWare license? Which VMWare product are you using? ESXi? Server?

    July 1, 2010 @ 8:43 pm | Reply
  4. Hello Admin,

We use ESXI, understandably ESXI is not permitted in a commercial environment with the free version but we use a paid version, upgraded to a premium license meaning we can provide Vm’s commercially on ESXI (Proof available by contacting us)

@ Jimmy, thank you for the recommendation, yes our support is better than the big dogs because we care for customers, and do what we can to help out with anything (even if it is not related to our services).

Our ping tests from the UK to our US servers is the best we have ever seen, pinging at an average of 80ms from our home based office in Doncaster (UK).

Ping: 64.120.229.130 (VPS Node IP) or 64.120.134.29 (Shared Server IP)

We look forward to a healthy relationship :)

    Our current node specs are:

1000mbps Uplink connected to E1000 NIC
    Vmware ESXI OS

We are soon to be using the following super servers for UK VPS hosting [ETA 3 months]

    Sun Fire V40z
    4 x Dual Core Opteron 880 @2.4Ghz x 2 cores [4 x 2.4Ghz x 2 = 19.2Ghz]

    1000mbps Uplink
    Vmware Server OS

    Thank you

  7. Hey there,

What RAID card do you have with that thing? I know for a fact no form of software raid, nor intel fakeraid, works in ESX(i). Did you also admit to using a RAID0 on a a customer facing box? I don’t mean to be a jerk by bringing that up but please, if you’re in this market, don’t treat your customers data like it’s worth nothing. When one of those 1TB’s dies, and trust me they do, you’ll be stuck either giving out complete refunds to everyone and hoping for another month, or worse, in the LEB deadpool.

You can’t use “Vmware Server” for anything customer based, PERIOD. On top of that, it runs on top of a full blown OS so even with a nice fat box, it’s going to die horribly past a hand full of VM’s.

As I said, I apologize if I come off as a bit of an ass, but comeon….

    Doesn’t Frantech sell VMWare VPSs?

How about your own VPS hosting?

    As mentioned, ESX :)

ESXi can also be licensed up to allowing it if I remember right. This is why I only mentioned VMWARE Server in my write up, nothing more.

    Thanks!

so, your own vps hosting is not recommended by yourself. (sorry if i don’t understand correctly)

  15. Hey there Bekanosky,

I think you’re getting a little off track :) My comments were simply aimed towards his comment about some of his servers, this isn’t to start a turf war with them or anything.

VMWARE is great, the free version known as “vmware server”, is OK for home use.

    Thanks,

  16. Hey guys. Serious off-topic here which is supposed to be about DiverseWeb :)

    In short,

    – DiverseWeb uses ESXi
    – Frantech uses ESX
    – Apparently you can lease VMs if you use ESX (and probably ESXi)

    July 3, 2010 @ 9:50 am | Reply
  17. Yes we do use ESXI at the moment on a commercial license, I have not actually tried Vmware server yet so I will not be just chucking it in and using it I will test it thoroughly first ;)

Yes ESXI is great, its a bare minimum and uses a max of 20mhz CPU to run so its the perfect environment, and its based on Linux so I may modify it to allow remote reboots and kvm and things :)

I am not sure what RAID card we use as it was supplied by the DC and we did not get gory details lol, but we take a backup of VM’s every 2 days anyway and store them on a 1TB external, we use thin provisioning so it is never 1TB in total ;)

The maths dont work – £2.50 including VMWare instance AND Windows license?

    July 3, 2010 @ 2:46 pm | Reply
  19. @Anonymous

Absolutely correct, Unless they are losing money with every sale something more long the lines of fishy is going on, No I’m not saying that’s the case. I am just saying i don’t see how they are offering VMWare & Windows @ 3$/month. The math just doesn’t add up. It’s not possible. But by all means if they figured out a way to do it then go for it. However the market is already saturated enough, There’s no need to saturate it more if there is more to this story than being told.

  20. SPLA licenses come no where near close to this so there is a hugh loss involved.

Also looking at the ip allocation per node the processors would simpley not with hold that number of vps servers even with two allocated per vps.

  21. Look like this guy is really dodgy, Well at least to me he looks a bit untrustable:

    1) All the emails he sent me where using Incredimail (Look really naff and not a good sign when you see the “GET INCREDIMAIL NOW” Gif at the bottom of every email.

    2) He stopped talking to me as soon as I mentioned about the fact that he had domain privacy on the domain of diverse web.

    3) £2.50 VMware Licence AND Windows is nowhere near profitable.

Think i might get a email sent to nominet :)

  24. Guys we are not dodgy, our details are hidden because we made a mistake when registering the domain and now cannot change it.

Our address is available to anyone who requests it and as a small host we are not currently a registered business, we are home based until we get a bit more established.

Ben, we stopped talking to you because your emails was rude, not because of whois.

  27. Yes. Their current IP address at HostNOC is not responding to ping. I have also seen their IP changes from place to place. Over the past 3 months they have been with

    – Singlehop
    – Wholesale Internet
    – VooServers in UK
    – HostNOC

Not surprising if they are on the move to another provider for their website.

  30. Well, I really can’t say i didn’t see this coming (Although I’m not the one that called it this time!) (You know who you are :P)

Anyways, Windows/Vmware at 3~5$/month is simply not sustainable and we all know that.

I really hope everyone who had service(s) with Diverseweb had backups because i think these guy’s threw in the towel for good. Because Diverseweb obviously visits Lowendbox (Or atleast they have, and replied according to the above posts.)

    Good luck

  41. lmao these guys are con artists i just won a $120 paypal dispute from this loser here is what he told paypal

8/26/2010 16:19 PDT – Seller: The user was paying for web hosting services, after several emails to the client informing him that using HACKING TOOLS on his VPS’s is against our TOS he continued to do so. Doing this caused our service provider, Burst.net to close all our servers down including our corporate site http://www.diverseweb.co.uk. This user was in direct violation of our terms of service, a cached page of our tos can be found by searching google for http://www.diverseweb.co.uk/terms.html We tried to reach a resolution with the clients but they continued to breach the terms, which in effect caused our entire business to be shut down by our provider.

    lmao what a joke
