IPv6 is currently only available in the UK, but Jack informs us that it will be available “soon”. Just how soon isn’t quite clear. I’ve had a quick look over their previous thread, and all of the reviews seem to be very positive, which is always a good thing to see. If you’re a customer, make sure you have your say in the comments below.

DotVPS accept payment via Liberty Reserve & 2CheckOut (Credit Card & PayPal Accepted). Servers are provisioned instantly and you can enable/disable TUN/TAP and PPP from the control panel. I bought a yearly VPS recently from Jack. At first there were problems getting the DC in UK to enable rDNS for IPv6 but after few days since I signed up it was fixed. So far the service has been excellent.

1.Type Chinese is not polite to others
Everyone type English here just because others can understand better. A lot of U.S can speak Spanish, and how will you feel if everyone communicate in Spanish here?

      2.Your “no love” is bullshit
If you don’t need it, just close this page. Ignoring this offer is better than posting this meaningless thing. Your post can’t neither help other visitors nor the provider improve service.

  10. Dave:

I signed up for one of the larger offers yesterday and from the limited testing I did last night all looks fine.

There was a payment problem when trying to setup a recurring payment (“Unfortunately your payment attempt was not successful. Please try again or contact support.”, I’ll try again next month, I’ve paid for a single month for now) but once I’d got that sorted provisioning was quick.

Quick question: Is is possible to purchase a bit more drive space, perhaps by getting one of the smaller offers and merging them? I’d not need the extra memory, cores, or IP addresses, but could easily use more than the 50Gb space.

(ignore the question unless you think the answer relevant to other buyers: I’ll raise a ticket for it through the proper channel!)

    • Hi Dave,

Thanks for your custom, I tried to get the recurring payment thing fixed however WHMCS blame 2Checkout and 2Checkout blame WHMCS…

Also another reason I wouldn’t really want to use it is this: http://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/9359 , Many providers seem to have issues with disputes as clients can’t seem to cancel their own Subscriptions.

I’d need to merge the same plan with the plan you had only, sorry.

I cancel the vps and request a refund they dont refund me, i request again the vps if the refund was not possible they said they cannot revoke.
    I DONT RECOMMEND IT!

    • Stop spamming all my LEB offers.

Where did I ever state that you would get an IP that hadn’t had CPanel used on it before?

You cancelled the VPS… Our TOS states no refunds on Virtual servers and Yes you cancelled it due to “ip was already using the trial license”.

I don’t recommend any other provider to take you on as a client.

      Hello,

Mentor, I am not sure why you want a cPanel trial. Please look in to IPv4 and limitations, IPv4 are rotated and are rotated regularly. This is because of the limit numbers. Be happy you have a IP and your note NAT through a shared IP.

Regards to your issue, you should have contacted cPanel, their support is great and I recommend looking into contacting them as the problem is with cPanel and not DoTVPS. If you requested a new trial and explained to them I would say they would be more than happy to help.

On another note, if you wanted to use cPanel generally used by companys, if your going to use it, it would be wise to just buy the key. If its for personal use check out Kloxo.

I have been with them for the past 3 days and I must say I am over impressed. I was considering to my self “Wow thats is a really low price, whats the catch” as we all know the saying “When something is to good to be true it generally is”. In this case I think this is that 2% of the time When something is to good to be true it true. Great service, I have a teamspeak server on mine and we have had a fantastic service so far.

Their tech support and sales team are so great at replying at 1AM in the morning, just a great job. Keep this up!

Bought this VPS 5 days ago and the server has now been down for 30hrs.

Multiple tickets has resulted in multiple excuses, School boy has attacked the server, the whole server has been taken offline and now apparently Jack has sold the company so no idea whats happening.

I was told we would be back online at 1pm. That never happened… I submitted a ticket to be told it it would be up within the hour, 4 hours later and still nothing.

I have since emailed Jack and submitted more tickets but getting no reply.

No idea whats going on now. Waste of time and money.

Just want to say despite the issues a few of us have encountered with downtime relating to the message of being sold. (I got a few of the 2gb offers).

Jack has been very helpful in support alongside giving reasonable response times (longest I have waited was 1hr and over bank holidays even had phone support) for the prices we pay.

Also, ordered another server tonight, was setup by the time I loaded my email and seems to be working fine.

    A+ for a great host.

I ordered a VPS with this offer, set up the system but it never worked, as today the VPS doesn’t start and I need to start working right away :(

it’s been 24 hours since I reported the problem and no solution, they state that Fedora is available but it is not. Jack you seem like a hard working guy but if this isn’t resolved I cannot work and then I will need a refund as I have not been able to use the service (I know 7$ isn’t much money but I like to pay for useful services).

You tell me that’s my issue? You are using a stock apache install and have no idea on how to optimise it.

It then carried on so I shut down your VPS, you booted it back up , I suspended it you then contacted me to say hey why you suspend? in the same ticket I opened, isn’t it obvious?

imagine, im a regular customer then you dont have consideration?

another funny thing is, i am asking you to open my vps for a while to check whats goin on? then you reopen my account after so many hours when i am not online anymore? SO THAT YOU HAVE A REASON to suspend my account again?

  29. jack has no idea about NIX Server LOAD 5.0

mybb, vbulletin, phpbb and other forum boards has a setting NIX server load, you can limit it to 5.0 according to those board softwares.

now, i believe that the nix server load of boards are accurate because i always check my vps, when i try to ping our site to check if it is really accurate by trying to post our link to twitter and facebook and it is realy happen that the server load will get high once the fb or twiiter bot will visit your site.

TAKE NOTE: we done this not ony 1 fb account, 20 fifferent fb accounts + 10 twitter accounts simultaneously share our links.

and when i check the vps load, it really increase upto 5.0, TAKE NOTE AGAIN!!!!!!! why i keep on emphasizing?? because on that particular time only we reach that so called high server load. compare to malicious statement of jack that consistently we have max serverload.. TAKE NOTE!!!! not all the time we reach 5.0 serverload.

and FYI, the board are accurate! when nix 5.0 reaches, message will appear to guest or member that “max server load reach” and in vps aso show and limited to 5.0 then after few seconds the server back to normal load. MEANING, jack has no idea about this. he keep on insisting that simultaneously 5.0 is our serverload. tsk! and also he insist that my vps was 1 core only, and according to him i need to upgrade to dedicated server?? whoahh!!! nonsense!

we also told him that we remove some plugins of our members in fb, which is RSS Graffitti, that according also to forum board communities (vb, phpbb, mybb, smf) hav an issue when the site crawls by that plugin. because rssg will ping/crawl the website’s syndication page then it will publish to fb walls of those people installed rssg the site contents of the website.

and on that time (he keep on suspending our vps), we are wanting to check and share to that certain jack if the server load still increase since the RSS Graffitti has been removed by our 20+ members in their fb account. but how can we prove to him that we already fix server load issue? that is why we humbly approach him to reopen our vps.

UNFORTUNATELY, jack does NOT want us to fix our issue, he is not listening. he keep on insisting that “i need to shift from apache to nginx”, “that i dont have knowledge” to optimize apache, mysql ETC,,,, he is treating me like a child.

    totally disappointed!

jack i want to buy a vps with unmetered bandwidth then i seen your virtual server which seems to be cost 9.95$ and i wanted to buy this then i saw in front page it is written that it unmetered bandwidth(fair usage) and internally i seen that it have bandwidth limit of 1024gb.Please tell me what is true.

And also i wanted to know that i have site and wanted a server for game download for my visitors and i also want 2 more site to be hosted on same vps.And i wanted to know what configuration i need for this.Is 1000gb ok or not or anything else and what more can do with at that price. Please reply fast thanks

  30. DomainBop:

juandelacruz said “malicious statement of jack that consistently we have max serverload.”

Jack is right. If your plan only has 1 core then anything above a load of 1 would be considered overloaded. The fact that your forum software has a setting of “max NIX server load of 5.0” is irrelevant.

juandelacruz said “it is realy happen that the server load will get high once the fb or twiiter bot will visit your site.”

A visiting bot shouldn’t cause a huge load spike unless your VPS is already overloaded. If FB’s bot is causing a spike in your server load you a) either need to optimize your apache configuration ( or switch to straight nginx or nginx frontend proxy for apache) and/or b) upgrade to a more powerful server.

    • another nonsense person..

is it hard to understand that “on certain time” when rss graffiti crawls website increases the server load?

so therefore, it is not true that we simultaneously have 5.0 and above or even 1.0 above load.

Domainbop also have no idea about nix server load.

we tested already, perhaps you don not have visitors on your site that is why you cant justify your statement.

hahaha! jack is right? then if the vps client increases load server to 1.01 “for sometime” then the client need to upgrade to dedicated server??? hahahaha!

that is illogical reasoning Domainbop, same ilogical reasoning of scammers!

FYI, most forum board suggest 5.0 nix server load in a share hosting, what more on my vps that it has only 1 website?????

and again, and again and again..

NOT ALL THE TIME our serverload is 1.0 in above..

irrelevant??? hahaha! appeal to vbuetin, smf, phpbb and mybb Domainbop… ask them why they suggest 5.0 nix serverload, or create a cause in internet that you are more genius about nix serverload that they put in their forum software. told them that they need to remove that.

i checked it last time after you unsuspending my account and i found out that rssg was the issue.

and also want to check my firewall but i got no chance because you suspend my account.

while checking the firewall i had been disconnected and i found out you suspend again.

I just signed up for the $7 deal mainly to put the “too good to be true” idiom to test. I live in the UK so i chose GBP as currency, and was told 4.52 GBP and redirected to 2CheckOut which also said 4.52 GBP. However, after that I was redirected again to another (4th party?) payment system which said 4.73 GBP (?)

I paid it as it’s not a big deal for an one-off test, but what gives? These inconsistencies are not a good sign. Can Jack clarify maybe?

    Cheers

Also, clicking again now on the UK-Maidenhead link, I’m now told 4.49 GBP and it shows the UK flag. This is getting odd.

What will I actually be charged monthly if I stay with DotVPS? It seems like it should be 4.49 but it’d be appreciated to have a confirmation of the actual price and a confirmation it won’t bounce up and down randomly.

Hi Jack, I’m less interested in 2checkout. How about the queries that I raised?

I confirm that I was actually charged 4.73 GBP.

Throughout all DotVPS web interfaces, while signing up, after payment, in the emails from DotVPS before and after the VPS was up, all of them say 4.52 GBP:

        https://www.dropbox.com/s/cvk0ofsnq40anji/screen-20130503-003.png

Yet I was charged 4.73 GBP:

        https://www.dropbox.com/s/8en6dh7wq5hsoms/screen-20130503-004.png

Using the top link on this page right now to sign up, it now says 4.49 GBP:

        https://www.dropbox.com/s/8x7mf43ecrhwp26/screen-20130503-002.png

What gives? What is the actual price? If I keep the current server with you, what will I continue to be charged from next month onwards in GBP? Will the price vary in GBP?

I know the deal is a steal, but I’m asking about the procedure/principle.

        Thanks.

I raised a ticket with DotVPS, and after a reply which didn’t address at all the payment charges, then after a dry “it’s due to exchange rate changing” reply, and then after some more convincing on my part, they finally said they escalated it to 2co – the checkout 3rd party.

This was 4 days ago, haven’t heard anything since. Ticket was also closed (not by me) …

They also said that they did see my messages on LEB but thought that Jack was handling it. But Jack had already said he’s not part of DotVPS anymore before I even contacted them.

I’m cancelling my account based on just that. It was a test anyway, I knew I was most likely going to lose 4.73 GBP (which should have been 4.52).

          Bite at your own risk.

I followed this up with James and it seems a ticket at 2Checkout is still open.

Well, I hope they find a resolution. I requested a cancellation of the account already.

Neil who replied in the tickets has been courteous enough (something to be expected really, rather than appreciated, but there are still children with a temper problem handling support at other providers).

I spoke to James for you, he said you didn’t state the reason for cancellation but he did contact you to see why you’d cancelled.

    Hello Jack:
I test your service year ago for more than 3 months, and i found it very good.
If i purchase 2 services of 3 GB plan, can you merge theme, and what i will finally have (Ram, Bandwidth, cpu … etc)?
    Thanks.

I purchased one of these virtual servers and they look relatively fine..ish.

I just want it for testing personal apps but I got a bit amazed/worried by following:

If i hit top in ssh i get:
    Mem: 3145728k total, 91812k used, 3053916k free, 0k buffers
    Swap: 0k total, 0k used, 0k free, 0k cached

After installing webmin, I can see this:
    Real memory
768 MB total, 26.23 MB used

EVERYTHING IS 4 TIMES LESS. :) Fake advertisement ?!

Had a 3gb VPS for a week now.. Suffered a problem installing a new OS with solusVM so I sent off an email asking for support.. Didn’t get a reply for 2 days (albeit, the weekend, but still).. That coupled with the slow speeds of the server (loading solusVM, connecting via SSH etc) I probs wont be renewing my services :(

    • Hi Chris,

After looking at our database only one Chris signed up last Friday ‘a week’ ago, so I have emailed that Chris, Apologies if that’s not you but as I haven’t received an email from you, I don’t know if that is you or not.

Chris I think its special to you your problem as I have had nothing but fantastic service, I am now considering buying a second one.

I am using a small OpenVZ box in UK from DotVPS. Good and fast network/routings (Maidenhead, UK – Rapidswitch).
Wanted to use a newer kernel and he moved me to another host – one of those limitations OpenVZ has. Really friendly support.
    Looking forward to new locations.

Just got the 3GB VPS (great deal, by the way) and everything is smooth so far, however, the one thing that really bothers me is that they sent me 2 passwords in plain text over email along with the ssh account and the ip address. Please don’t send passwords in plain text. It also raises concern over what kind of format the passwords are stored on the providers’ server.

On a side note, just found LowEndBox. Great site, helped me a lot with comparing vps offers.

    • User is just mad he can no longer attack our website, The user was suspended for sending an attack from his VPS, he then contacted us about it saying he didn’t, when we looked into it fair enough the last login was different to all the others so we lifted the suspension after this another attack was launched from his VPS so we terminated him. Ever since this user has been launching attacks against our webserver.
