Fliphost – $7/Month 2GB SSD KVM VPS in Los Angeles

Tags: , , , Date/Time: July 5, 2013 @ 11:57 pm, by Humza

Alex from US-based Fliphost sent in an offer for some of his new special SSD KVM based packages, in a new location, LA, as part of their 2 year anniversary as well as some OpenVZ SSD plans.

SSD KVM1

  • 4 vCPU Cores
  • 1GB RAM
  • 7GB SSD Disk (RAID10)
  • 800GB Bandwidth
  • 1Gbit Port
  • 1 IPv4 address
  • LA location
  • KVM / SolusVM
  • $4/Month | Order
  • Code: 947GNKYPLX
SSD KVM2

  • 4 vCPU Cores
  • 2GB RAM
  • 12GB SSD Disk (RAID10)
  • 1TB Bandwidth
  • 1Gbit Port
  • 1 IPv4 address
  • LA location
  • KVM / SolusVM
  • $7/Month | Order
  • Code: JPAIC1V28T

Note: All prices are prorated, so the checkout price may appear less than the recurring amount. Also once stock is sold out the promotion will end.

We’ve all seen the abundant 2GB RAM OpenVZ offers, but rarely do we see a KVM equivalent which Fliphost are providing today. Fliphost were founded in June 2011 and were just celebrating their 2 year anniversary, they have featured back in May with a 1TB storage plan, so they’re not new to ‘going overboard’ with resources. It will be interesting to see how this performs, so as always do share your experiences below. Alex informs us that the servers they run are Dual E5-26XX’s with 128GB RAM and 8x Intel 520 SSDs in hardware RAID10 with the LSI 9266/9271 card. It is also worth noting that these KVM special plans can be ordered yearly for the price of 10 months, if you submit a ticket for it.

SSD Yearly

  • 2 vCPU Cores
  • 128MB RAM
  • 5GB SSD Disk
  • 500GB Bandwidth
  • 1Gbit port
  • 1 IPv4 address
  • Dallas location
  • OpenVZ / SolusVM
  • $16/Year | Order
  • Code: K0DIAF9OY3
SSD Yearly 2

  • 2 vCPU Cores
  • 256MB RAM
  • 5GB SSD Disk
  • 500GB Bandwidth
  • 1Gbit port
  • 1 IPv4 address
  • Dallas location
  • OpenVZ / SolusVM
  • $24/Year | Order
  • Code: O4AH3P3EYC
SSD 1

  • 2 vCPU Cores
  • 512MB RAM & vSWAP
  • 10GB SSD Disk
  • 1TB Bandwidth
  • 1Gbit port
  • 1 IPv4 address
  • Dallas location
  • OpenVZ / SolusVM
  • $4/Month | Order
  • Code: LEB1

Alex also dropped in some yearly and monthly OpenVZ based SSD offers too, featured above. Fliphost have thrown in a few ‘bonus’ services such as their self restore backup system (OpenVZ only at the moment), free Rage4 Anycast DNS and Offloaded SQL (available with a ticket). It does seem IPv6 is lacking at the moment however. Payments are made through PayPal and refunds are processed on a case by case basis. Prohibited activities are simply anything illegal in the US, as well as Tor exit nodes and anything that can affect the performance of your neighbours on the node. As always do read the ToS before purchasing.

Um… How do I access SolusVM? The solus subdomain doesn’t work.

    July 6, 2013 @ 6:12 am | Reply
    • perennate:

It’s probably disabled for security reasons. If the WHMCS SolusVM module is enabled, you can access it via WHMCS by clicking on your VPS from the Services tab. For reinstall, most likely you should open a ticket.

We have an auto reply setup if it is out of those time just so that clients don’t feel they are being left in the dark.

That’s just the default WHCMS template. My ticket was answered only after 8 hours. It wasnt a life or death situation, but still I was used to other providers responding in a couple of hours.

      • We have another system that auto replies as well, besides that one.

We are always looking into ways to improve our service. Support is one of those ways. Most times tickets are responded to quite fast.
