  3. Dedicated Customer:

I have a question.. We need to run an L2TP VPN server for our business but in the past have had issues getting it to run on OpenVZ based VPS systems. With KVM we have no problems. Do you guys offer any KVM services? if not would we be able to run an L2TP VPN on your service?

    • We do offer KVM services, please open a ticket with required specifications and I will reply with a price.

I have already one VPS with 1GB RAM, 1.2GB vSwap, 4 vCPU core with another provider. But it is HDD and I am thinking of going for a SSD VPS as well. Your 2GB RAM, 2 CPU core looks good option for me but not sure what would be the real difference between “2GB RAM – 2 CPU core (yours) v/s 1 GB RAM – 4 CPU core (mine)”??

Also not sure if there is any difference between CPU and vCPU and I guess in case of VPS it is all same, right?

    thank you

    September 3, 2014 @ 5:16 pm | Reply
    • CPU = vCPU

Difference between the plans you listed are specifications.

      • shibin:

thank you, yes I understand that the difference is specifications, my question was more about the performance implication between SSD-2GB-2CPU and HDD-1GB-4CPU, any suggestion/opinion?

        September 3, 2014 @ 5:49 pm | Reply
        • Sven:

Depends of your applications. They need a lot of CPU? 4 cores are better (if they dont throttle and if they use the equal CPU on the host node). But if your applicaions benefit by RAM and IO this VPS ist better for you.

          September 3, 2014 @ 6:29 pm | Reply
          • shibin:

            yes, that make sense..

As of now I don’t have any CPU intensive applications or custom applications which consumes lot of CPU power. I have the basic Nginx-PHP-MySQL-Apache setup and running couple of wordpress sites and one mybb forum. There is a lot of hype over SSDs lately and thought of trying one. I guess for my setup more RAM and SSD option would be good (Read/Write) than less RAM and more CPU option.

            thank you

    Hello FTPiT,

I purchased two subscriptions on offer, thanks much!
I am happy with the service thus far.

I, however, want to bring to light what appears to me to be a shocking oversight.

The mobile page for manage.ftpit.com doesn’t use https!! Surely it is should be a forced redirect to https? I am able to login through http and manage my stuff.

Also, forcing https in the address bar leads to a certificate warning.

Please fix at the earliest and disable the http page completely, I’d say.

I am using an android phone, version 4.4.2, and Chrome version 36.

    September 6, 2014 @ 5:23 am | Reply
    • Nikhil:

Well, it doesn’t appear to be limited to the mobile page, the desktop one accepts http too.

      Needs rectification.

          • Nikhil:

            Thanks for the redirect!

Works from both desktop and android phone.

However, android 4.4.2 gives me an SSL certificate not trusted error. It works fine from the desktop.
I checked the phone’s trusted system certificates and couldn’t find PositiveSSL/PositiveSSL CA 2 by Comodo CA Ltd in the list, though there are a few others by that Organization present. (And ofcourse, updating to Chrome 37 didn’t help)

I am guessing this CN can be entered into the list only after an android update, whenever that comes.

Do check to see if this is a universal issue on phones.

            Tricky stuff!

    Hey,
I was thinking about choosing one of your plans. I will mostly use it for private VPN, Proxy, Voice Server and Torrents. The question is, do you have an automatic monitoring system for Torrents or not. I just got suspended on some other VPS that I was testing for a legal torrent seeding even if they did allow torrents like this in ToS.

Take days to reply my feedback. But still not solve the problem that last more than week. When I ask for my backup they send me the corrupt one. When I ask again they send me the old one again then disappear.

I have a lot of trouble from them. Now I can’t even have my backup to move my site some where else.

If ftpit guys read this please contact me
I need my site back yesterday but you guys haven’t reply me for last 2 days.

Have been with them for 2 months now. Almost 90% of the time unusable service – connection seems like it’s running on 2kb/s tops. Can’t recommend them at all.
