So of course, the question then is…what the heck is a Gaidelis or a Vytautas?
According to a Google Translate of this Lithuanian Wikipedia page, Gaidelis “is a boulder in the riverbed of the Neris River , in the Užusalii borough of the Jonava district , near the village of KrÄ—slyņi.” There are apparently some legends about this rock, whose name means “rooster” in Lithuanian.  This Google Translate isn’t very good but conveys the gist: ” “Late passengers passing by heard hammering, saw someone sitting on a stone and even went to light a pipe because they were called by their real names. Sometimes he just wandered and couldn’t pass by that place. Everything disappeared only when the rooster crowed.”
As for Vytautas, aka Vytautus the Great, he “was a ruler of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. He was also the prince of Grodno (1370–1382), prince of Lutsk (1387–1389), and the postulated king of the Hussites.” He is a national hero in Lithuania and Vytautus is a popular name. He lived 1392-1430.
Cool tie-ins with local culture! And those prices – wow!
