Hi! I’m very interested in your service, but due to some application that runs only on Windows I need to use that!
So is it possible to use Windows Server or not??
      Thanks Giacomo

It is not possible to run windows on these servers

  2. I always like this type of resource setup. Just signed up, not instant setup, but within five minutes I had the account. The resource list on the offer was kind of confusing, so here’s a “fixed” version:
    4GB RAM
    1.95GB Swap
    4 CPU Cores
    35GB SSD space
    2000GB traffic
    10Gbps uplink
    5x IPv4
20x IPv6 (are more available upon request?)

Disk and network speed are excellent (800+ MB/s and 100+ MB/s, respectively). Everything else is pretty standard. I was wondering about the CPU weight option (see this screenshot). Is that a priority thing?

    March 29, 2015 @ 5:41 am | Reply
    • In regards to your question about cour weight it is priority. This is going to be adjusted in a future module update to be more uniform.

The accpectable use policy smells fishy. Everyone should read there ToS…

Examples of unacceptable content or links:

    Minecraft and its variations.
    Chobots, Starbound, Runescape
    Teamspeak and Mumble
    Denial of Service (DoS) attacks
    Port scanning
    TOR
Torrents (private torrents are allowed (must limit speed)
    Illegal downloads/Piracy
    CamFrog
    Virtual currency (*coin) mining
    HentaiAtHome
    IP spoofing
    Fake/Replica product websites
    World Community Grid
    HYIP websites
    Booter/Stresser websites
HitLeap or any artificial traffic creation
    iBusinessPromoter or similar software
    LIULIANGKUANG
Chinese private game servers or websites
    Nested Virtualization
Any high CPU, IO and network usage
    Spam / Mass Mail

Now I understand most of it, but voice servers? Minecraft? Let me guess all video games? Then to top it off any high CPU or network or IO usage?

If you don’t want people doing that sounds like some serious performance problems, packet loss, or something. Teamspeak uses like 2-1 percent cpu and 300mb ram with about 30 people. So nothing with large amounts of ram? Why?? You are stating 4gb dedicated. Im calling bs.

Unless policy is changed or I get a good reason I’m calling this company out, they are up to something fishy.

Those customers bring all kinds of issues like DDOS?

      March 29, 2015 @ 11:25 pm | Reply
    • Hello,

All video games are not banned. The items listed that are banned are banned because of our experiences of the abuse they bring. Minecraft has attracted numerous network attacks and destroys disk I/O. Voice servers often get attacked and we have experienced that first hand. While other providers may not list such things we do specific spell out more to make things more clear for those signing up. We protect the performance and stability of our customers by denying the usage of those applications.

You can use your full RAM at any time.

They might be virtual but they likely are not dedicated @ $7…

Might want to fix your marketing buzzwords.

Check out there ToS.. Their acceptable use policy is pretty much ANYTHING resource extensive. All voice servers, minecraft, games… Dont recommend.

No, their AUP/TOS called out every bad thing a customer usually brings on a node / network.

Try to expand your horizons past every provider is out to scam / rip you off.

        • Justin:

The AUP gives them the ability to cancel your account, without refund, without question or reason.
Pretty high on my list of “not a fucking chance” IMHO.

    From the TOS:

    “Terms of Services
    Revision date: 03/03/2015
    Network Atacks
Subnet Labs does not offer network procetion. In the event a customer receives 2 network attacks they may be asked to leave without refund..”

Uhh.. what? The double misspelling aside; I question even the legality of that. Clearly this AUP/TOS has not been in front of a lawyer.

You’re making people agree that if, you decide to ‘attack’ your own network that you are allowed to cancel their contracts without refunding them for services you refuse to provide? You provide no definition of what constitutes an “attack”, you fail to describe much of anything in fact..

Looked interesting; after reading the TOS/AUP not even slightly interested.

    • Thank you for pointing out the spelling mistakes, they have been corrected.

“You’re making people agree that if, you decide to ‘attack’ your own network that you are allowed to cancel their contracts without refunding them for services you refuse to provide?”

I’m not quite sure why anyone in their right mind would attack their own network? That would serve no purpose other than to cost us money. Network attack is not defined as there are countless types of network attacks and there are more and more being created every day. Being more vague in the definition of it allows us to cover all of them in one go.

I would also like to mention that “In the event a customer receives 2 network attacks they may be asked to leave without refund..” doesn’t mean the you will not be refunded, it simply means we have the right to not refund you.

If you have anymore concerns about our TOS feel free to email me directly at : alex[at]subnetlabs.com

        What the hell?

Attacking your own network helps you stay secure.

        Are you stupid or something?

This is definitely a ‘do not use’ VPS.

this is a cheap vps. if you think that you have a right to flood your so-called own “servers” which is actually part of disk slice, part of processors core, and part of ram also part of the network backbone, then you should get your own dedicated servers or co-location. of course you need to pay more, until hundred dollars per month.

if you just pay less than 10 dollars per month, then do not whining. stop complaining.

i am not representative of this vps, but your statements are too much

Curious as to why my servers are only averaging a 50kB/s-200kB/s transfer rate. Once in a blue moon the speed will shoot up to 1.0MB/s+, then it creeps right back down.

I’m migrating my service off of these guys. They oversell their disk space and the end result is I get to watch my drive shrink and run out of space about 4 or 5 times a year. Just happaned last night again for about an hour. The time before that was a few weeks ago and I had no free space for 3 days.
