InceptionHosting - €4 256MB Xen VPS in Phoenix

InceptionHost Anthony from InceptionHosting wanted to inform the LowEndBox readers that they have recently deployed a new location for their Xen VPS hosting — Phoenix AZ in United States. Cost starts at €4/month (USD$5.22) for “VPS256”. Direct signup link.

  • 256MB memory/256MB swap
  • 15GB storage
  • 250GB/month data transfer on 100Mbps
  • 4x vCPU cores
  • Xen/SolusVM

Servers with PhoenixNAP in Phoenix AZ (test IP: 199.30.48.189). The CPU of the server is 2 generation behind (Xeon X3470) but they allow you to utilise all 4 cores. IPv6 is not yet available in this location. Otherwise InceptionHosting has just passed the 1-year-old mark (from its domain registration), and Anthony has proved to provide a solid service from previous offers.

Good experience, so far. Have an inceptionhosting box in NL and happened to have a runaway process that ate up 6 of the 8 cores for 24 hours (8 cores? Cool!) and they caught me quickly opening a ticket and capping me to 1 CPU (without a reboot) and kindly restricted me with no interruption to what I had going on.

Very polite staff and stable and fast machines.

Just curious, as there are many offers do you have sometimes customers signing up on regular plans as well?

  6. Hi Bob,

Yep plenty on that standard 256mb+ plans which are rarely discounted.

Its worth noting that this one is not a special offer, this is the regular price, it was sent in because it meets the <$7 mark.

    Anthony.

Good disk I/O and network speed; I like the network, as it seems to be using Hurricane Electric and Tinet for most of the latency testing I have done to/from the instance.

Ordering process was quick, used Paypal to purchase, and didn’t require a bank/card backed paypal since Inception must have a Paypal merchant account.

I haven’t had to contact support, but will need to for my reverse DNS, as it seems SolusVM isn’t configured for this.

Overall, I am pleased with the network and VPS performance, and hassle free ordering process.

  8. Thanks dano,

    Appreciate the feedback.

Still sorting out the rDNS automation so it is a manual request for now as you said.

        Hello,

Finally got reply..it’s because of some ddos attack.. :) and slow reply because my own mistake didn’t put the ticket in high priority since they are in the middle of season holiday as in their announcement :)
        Thanks David..

        • Hi Wira,

Sorry about the delay, what made this hit so hard was the fact that someone signed up and decided it would be fun to start sending out udp floods and run wow hackers etc right in the middle of the attack.

I may turn off auto provisioning for a few days as the person that signed up would have been stopped within minutes during a normal day as none of his payment info matched his account.

          Again sorry for the issues.

          Anthony.
