This week, a story emerged on social media about the owner of Doxbin.
As Tom Petty would say, he’d been “kidnapped, taken away, and held for ransom”. There’s even video of him being tortured.
It’s all pretty murky. For the uninitiated, Doxbin is a pastebin to doxx people. Operating with a lax – almost worthless – TOS, the site allows users to post and share info on people’s personal info, addresses, phones, social security numbers, credit data, pictures, etc.
Needless to say, it is rather controversial. There was an earlier darknet, onion-powered site called Doxbin that was shut down in 2014, but this version operates on the clearnet.
The owners are charming, too. From Wikipedia:
In 2019, Brian Krebs reported that, “the individual who appears to maintain the Doxbin… stated that he also was responsible for maintaining SiegeCulture, a white supremacist Web site that glorifies the writings of neo-Nazi James Mason.”

This week, X user xvdb began sharing news that the owner of Doxbin had been kidnapped. A brief video was posted showing someone with a black trashbag over his head being kicked (archived, now taken down by X, perhaps for violating their terms).
Doxbin itself is down, showing only a Plesk login page.
These pics and videos demand an answer to the obvious question: if someone is mad at Doxbin, mad enough to kidnap their operator and beat him, why hide the identity? I mean, if you were doxxed, I would think that doxxing the doxxer would be the ultimate revenge.
One shared video does appear to show someone logging into the admin section of Doxbin, but for all we know that’s the original operator himself.
These videos could be swiped from some Knights Templar’s misplaced cell phone (not those KTs, these KTs). Or it could all be entirely staged for the reason that everyone involved is in their early 20s.
