JayStorage - $5 460MB OpenVZ VPS in France

JayStorage Another new listing from a new provider. Someone from JayStoage emailed me about their virtual server plan. Yes it says “$3 per month” and “Cloud Scalability” on their home page, but there’s only one plan — “VPS Advanced” for $5/month. You get

  • 460MB guaranteed/1000MB burstable memory
  • 45GB storage
  • 250GB/month data transfer
  • OpenVZ/SolusVM

PayPal-only for payments, and servers with OVH in France (test IP: 91.121.14.114). Domain registered in August 2011, but service seems to be enabled only in November. Interestingly the same plan was advertised as “unlimited bandwidth” elsewhere. Not much info on his WHT account other than still a n00b in managing dedicated servers and in running OpenVZ as of last month. No SSL on the ordering pages. Website is full of 404 links, with ordering links for Web Hosting and Reseller Hosting that go nowhere.

No wonder WHOIS info is masked. I’ll be too embarrassed if it wasn’t.

OMG, so why did you list this provider?

To file them in the dead pool a few months later? Seriously I did the usual lookup and googling while I am writing up this blog entry so by the time I finished all the fact checks I’m already done — so might as well post it. When you google “JayStorage” they also appear in quite a few of those “VPS offer list” sites, without the details. So maybe this page will float to the top of Google SERP to help those looking for background/reviews of this particular provider.

Because of the same reason we have warning signs on roads, so that drivers don’t drive themselves off the cliff.

Besides, do you really believe there’ll be even a single purchase from anyone who has read this post?

And to top it all off he has a ripped website:

    http://www.csnewmedia.co.uk/

This website was designed by AKDesigner for CSNewMedia in 2009.

We had been badly let down by several designers over the last few years, until I found AKDesigner on another web hosting providers website. I was immediately impressed with their wide portfolio and submitted an enquiry through their website. Within a few hours I had received a response back from Ammar with full pricing. AKDesigner may not be the cheapest web design company around, but their service, attention to detail and responsiveness is second to none. I have no hesitation in recommending AKDesigner, keep up the good work!

Damn! This one will be tough! I can’t decide between this amazing offer by Ajay R Kamath from India and previous Liquid Host – $3.74 256MB OpenVZ VPS offer. I predict a great future for both! Yes, this will be for sure our favourite vps hosting company!
Any suggestions? Which one should I choose? Which one will be decent replacement for my UptimeVPS?

    Any suggestion is welcome.

Well, these guys rip a website and don’t even have the time to change the names. Go to terms and conditions and you see CS New Media 4 times, fourth being prominently in the footer menu.

*Are you gonna invest in someone who cant do a clean “Replace All” command.
*Privacy Policy states their website as Jaytorage.com
*Since they ripped a website which is running since 2005, they get their reputation and copyright as well in the footer
*From About Us page, click twitter logo and voilà, you hit up csnewmedia. Until we start tweeting, let them do that for us..

this was earlier jayweb.in or jaywebs.in
    they keep advertising on ebay.
last time they went down because they had their business with hostrail.
    they had lots of issues.
the owner also auctioned his whmcs at ebay.com (the auction ended arround 80minutes before the end time)

they had n trace for some time, now they are back with some other name and servers from place other than hostrail.
may be this time it would work for these people.

Sorry, but when I was 9 (going to second grade), our teacher had already taught us how to properly capitalize words in a sentence. It’s funny how uneducated kids are this days, but they still manage to start so called ‘hosting companies’ 1 after another.

I guess we’ll see how long it lasts.

I am quite aware of that, you shouldnt really expect any profit in at least the first 3 months anyway. I haven’t actually taken the piss either since they are not actual figures thw owner has shared, they are just figures guessed at by Jack.

I think they did a clever thing.. as kimsufi has 1 disk. and 100mbps port.

They vzmigrated/vzdump’d all the VPS’s to a new node from OVH with 1gbps port and 2 disks in a RAID etc.
