Ping their LG subdomain instead, or just run the test on LG. lg.joesdatacenter.com
I couldn’t ping the test ip either, maybe it’s an old one and they forgot to change it.

    • I can’t ping test ip, but test ip can ping me. Lel.

    • Sorry guys that test ip is not correct. It should be 208.94.245.2. If you click on the link for the Looking Glass page its listed there correctly as well.

  2. Jason:

what’s the price of adding more RAM in both plans?

    April 11, 2016 @ 7:03 pm | Reply
    • Both plans have a little different pricing for ram upgrades, as they start with different amounts. If you click on the order form you can see the upgrade prices, these can be done at any time after you have ordered as well by submitting a ticket in our billing/ticket system.

      • Jason:

how about more than the amount shown in order form?

        • Andrei Eduard:

Technically they could give you even more resources, the only problem I can think of is the billing. I’m pretty sure they’ll find a solution for your needs.

          April 13, 2016 @ 2:03 pm | Reply
        • I’m sorry currently what is listed on the order form is all that we support for those packages.

  3. XIRadio:

What versions of ESXi do you install? Is there RAID on either package?

    April 11, 2016 @ 11:35 pm | Reply
    • Typically we installed the latest version unless you specify otherwise. During the order there is a field “Operating System Version” which you can type in any specific version you want.

I’m an existing customer of Joe’s (and I add a happy one) and was thinking of upgrading.

Will I be able to take advantages of these awesome offers? Does it help if I wink and say I will be adding extras?

    • Andrei Eduard:

If you’re going for a new server, you would have to have a new one set up anyway, so you just order a new one at this nice deal. If the situation is more complicated than that, send a message to support, those guys are awesome and will always find the perfect solution to make you happy.

I recently became a customer of them(a few days ago), and I have to say, I am already more than satisfied.

      April 13, 2016 @ 2:00 pm | Reply
    • That is not a problem. During the order you can add it to your existing account and just submit a cancellation for the other server from within the ticket system.

  5. Energyx:

What version of ESX is available (from the order form) and any RAID on the Clearance Plan?

    April 12, 2016 @ 11:56 pm | Reply
    • Typically we installed the latest version unless you specify otherwise. During the order there is a field “Operating System Version” which you can type in any specific version you want. As for raid neither of these units have hardware raid cards built in. We can do software raid if the OS is linux or windows. If you need hardware raid I would recommend checking out this system 2x Intel Xeon L5630 Westmere as it has a built in hardware raid card (LSI 9260-8i 6G w/ 512MB Cache)https://support.joesdatacenter.com/order/?form_id=277 if you decide on that system use this coupon “LEB11” to save $11 /month making it only $49 /month.

Looked a great deal until they told me the KVMoverIP is not permanent and limited to 2 hours a month

    April 13, 2016 @ 10:34 am | Reply
    • None of what you said is true. Depending on the system you order some have kvm over ip built in such as the LEB Exclusive Offer (2x Intel Xeon E5645) which you have full admin access to at all times on a dedicated network cable. The Clearance Plan (2x Intel Xeon L5420) does not have a kvm over ip device built in however we have one that can be hooked up at any time if you submit a ticket into the ticket system. This is free and we do not limit how many times a month however we normally hook it up in two hour increments unless the customer asks to have it extended or requests a longer period of time. Regardless we always have kvm over ip available on all the dedicated servers we sell they are just not all dedicated like on the LEB Exclusive Offer.

      April 13, 2016 @ 7:56 pm | Reply
    • I wanted kvmoverip and they responded like: ‘The KVM over IP unit is assigned to you for the next 2 hours. We limit each usage to 2-hour increments in order to ensure availability to other clients. If no other clients are waiting for usage, you can ask for another 2-hour increment.’

,so there is no monthly limit.

    Hello,

We don’t offer permanent IP KVM’s.

We do offer KVM over IP devices that are available on a first come first serve basis for dealing with advanced problems. Generally limited to 2 hours a session.

Hi Joe. I just checked out your ToS and AUP. I noticed bitcoin was not permitted on your VPS, but what is your position on dedicated? Also, what is your opinion on non-exit Tor routers? Thanks in advance. I’m pretty sure I’ll get one regardless of what your answer is!

    April 22, 2016 @ 7:50 pm | Reply
    • You can use our dedicated servers for mining or running wallets, block-chain apps ect. We only disallow on our VPS because people were taking advantage of the shared CPU. We have had customers run TOR networks in the past and we don’t mind assuming its not the end node, if your ip gets abuse you will be responsible for it. If your worried about what we allow I recommend checking out our AUP here: http://joesdatacenter.com/acceptable-use-policy/

Happ with the clearance server for the last week. Performs well, and no downtimes noticed so far. Peering is not the greatest since it’s just HE and Cogent, but bandwidth has been pretty good. Opened a couple tickets, which were handled quickly.

Joe, thanks for offering this deal, looks great.

I’m interested in the deal with 5 IP’s and ESX, how does that work on your side, you just route that subnet to my interface on ESX and i’m done?

    Thanks,

    J

    April 29, 2016 @ 11:22 pm | Reply
    • If you order 5 additional ips you will get a /29 subnet. We typically just add the ips on your vlan and add an additional gateway for that range to use.

Try opening a ticket with them. They were quite responsive for me.

      May 5, 2016 @ 3:17 am | Reply
    • Be sure to e-mail support or log into the ticket system and let the techs know. This is most likely an easy fix, probably a bad network end. We had a crimper that was making bad ends that tested fine. They would not show any missing wires during the test but would not negotiate gig. We tossed the crimper and tried to re-make the ends that were affected. Hopefully we already fixed this issue for you.

      • Matt:

Yup that was definitely the problem. Got it fixed within an hour of opening the ticket. Fantastic support!
