As you’ve probably heard, IPv4 has been deprecated and IPv6 is the new network hotness. In fact, it’s been the new protocol on the scene since Windows 95 was a thing.
For those born and raised on IPv4, switching over to those new-fangled addresses with all their weird hexadecimal parts and colons and bajillions of addresses can be a bit daunting. You could, of course, go read a book on the subject, or watch YouTube videos, or take a class.
But if you want to also get some digital bling, you might consider going through Hurricane Electric’s ipv6 certification program. It’s completely free and as you rise through the levels (from Newbie to Explorer to Enthusiast to Administrator to Professional to Guru to Sage), you get a near little digital button. Oh, and knowledge too.
The HE program includes video presentations at each level and you’re required to take a test to earn the grade. There are also practical assignments.
It’s free, fun, and a good way to wrap your brain around a 128-bit world. Read more on the HE.net page.

And, unless they’ve stopped it very recently, they’ll send you an actual geeky t-shirt for getting to Sage level.
Yes, they will!
certified many years ago, and now:
Invalid username or password :(
never received my tshirt
HE is a great service, been using it for many years.
Do not count on getting a t-shirt @ Sage level. Been a “sager” since 2009 and still waiting on a t-shirt to arrive:)
But, use the heck out of HE and they are a great bunch of people offering a great service!
Correction: I just noticed it is MY fault about not getting a t-shirt. I never validated my address and chose size in members area.
Didn’t know about the shirt…now I have a new life goal.
