LiquidHost is a Bulgarian based VPS provider which has been featured numerous times before. LiquidHost can offer both offloaded MySQL and FTP storage for free to any interested customer. Upon request, LiquidHost can now assign internal IPs in Seattle for uses such as load-balancing. Traffic through these IP’s isn’t counted towards your plans monthly limit. On their last thread, LiquidHost received some good reviews. More reviews regarding LiquidHost would be appreciated.

LiquidHost accept payment via 2Checkout (credit and debit cards+paypal) Liberty Reserve and Payza. They can offer DDoS protected IPs in Seattle as an addon for $3 each per month or $36 per year and LA, if you don’t mind the extra 10-20 latency. They do not offer refunds. IRC is allowed, for lawful purposes. SPAM, DDoS attacks and malware, are strictly prohibited on their services. As always, you should view their terms of service for more information.

Bought a yearly KVM with them however I wanted something easier to reinstall so asked for a pro-rata credit and got a yearly OVZ instead.

    Great speedy box.

I have 5 boxes with these guys – the response on tickets is great. Not only are they fast but very knowledgeable, and work very hard to accommodate what I’m wanting. The boxes themselves are all fast and have not had a single issue with them in the time I’ve had them. A+

I have one of their yearly KVM’s (TX). I’ve tried quite a few different Dallas VPS providers and this is the best one so far (since ramnode quit offering Dallas VPS’s). I would highly recommend them. Good service, good performance, good network.

Sorta disappointed that the VPS I bought didn’t come preinstalled with CentOS (like all the other ones do) and of course, the CentOS 6.3 ISO won’t let me install it on my 256MB RAM KVM.

    May 18, 2013 @ 6:15 am | Reply
    • Your ticket was answered by me. As mentioned in it – most KVM VPS come with no OS preinstalled, atleast in my experience so far. I’ve offer a move to OVZ for 1-click reinstalls or to temporary increase your RAM to install CentOS6.

What is the point of selling a 256 mb KVM VPS, if the OS cannot be installed in it?

        May 18, 2013 @ 10:23 am | Reply
        • Some OS can be installed on 256MB, also as already mentioned, I am okey with temporary increasing the RAM of the VMs.

      • Nick:

What’s the point of asking for the root password when you signup when the OS doesn’t get installed? Every other VPS I purchased has the OS preinstalled. If you want customers to have a choice of what they want preinstalled, why not add a option at signup for choosing what OS to install?

FYI, it has been just about 24 hours since I paid for my VPS and I still don’t have an OS installed (as I am waiting for the RAM to be temporarily increased so I can install CentOS 6.3). Not happy…

What exactly does offloaded mysql mean? Does it mean I have access to a separate mysql database?

    May 19, 2013 @ 4:51 pm | Reply
    • Nick:

It says “LiquidHost can offer both offloaded MySQL and FTP storage for free to any interested customer.” which I believe means that anyone wanting just a MySQL database or FTP storage, then they can offer that to the customer for free (Just like Amazon Web Services and other hosts do). It is mostly for projects that are on a tight budget and need a good reliable MySQL or FTP host. So (according to me) no, you can install a MySQL database (or FTP server) if you wish on to your VPS.

      • Humza:

        Hey Naveed,

Nick was pretty much corret, it is simply there if you have current services there but want to host MySQL on an optimized machine and keep it off your VPS for example, there are many uses really. It means you can put MySQL databases on a seperate machine, and connect to it from your VPS for example.

Do let me know if I can help you any more. :-)

When these leb providers mention about IRC in their TOS, do they mean hosting IRC server or using IRC clients on their VPS?

      Hey there,

I can’t speak for other providers, but when we mention IRC it includes servers and clients e.g. BNC’s. If you are thinking about another host I suggest you contact them for clarification. :-)

I hate it when a provider writes extremely vague things in their TOS like

Using LiquidSolutions’ network to store obscene speech is prohibited.

    or

Using LiquidSolutions’ network as a means to transmit or post negative language

What does that even mean? In fact my comment here is “negative language”. Would that be forbidden?

I bought this service of them $20/Year , after 2 days of pending I opened a ticket and after some hours they answered that they run out of IPs and it might take some days!!(they did not say it while purchasing the service) or they will give me a full refund, I agreed on the refund but after some ours they wrote me back again that they had some IPs and they had not noticed , they asked me if I want refund or … I went with refund because I did not like how they started it …. but they have not refunded me yet

they are not professional and they are not good at all!

    • Hello,

As I explained in the ticket – 2checkout has locked our account without any proper reason at all, with all the money in it, it is in a process of beeing re-reviewed and I am not able to issue a refund. It is promised and I will honor it ASAP i get access to my account back. Also, if I remember correctly first you said you’d wait for the new batch of IPs and after that requested a refund. All your tickets were answered promptly in a time manner.

      • TB:

No, no ticket yet (haven’t received the VPS information) so it’s not MY website that is down, it’s the client-area on http://liquid-solutions.biz/ that is down. http://liquid-solutions.biz/clients/ returns a 404.

        May 30, 2013 @ 10:48 am | Reply
        • We are currently under a DDoS, working on getting it resolved. None of our clients are affected by it, though, just the client area / main website. It will be up and running in a couple of hours and all should be back to normal. You will of course receive a proper compensation for your wait and I sincerely apologize for all the delays, just bad timing :)

I got an account with them. My VPS was performing slow. They said they suspended some users, which fixed the problem for a while. The problem recurred though to a lesser extent and I complained again and guess what – they suspended my account without warning. After asking why – I am told that my account was using the highest load. So apparently this was a mistake and it wasn’t my account after all. Not even an apology.

Seriously? This is one of the most immature unprofessional services I’ve dealt with. Goodbye Liquid Host.

They don’t cancel you without reason, you’re probably running shit or causing cps a very high load, which affects other vps. They are good people, sometimes going out of their way to help clients.

They didn’t cancel me. They suspended me and then unsuspended me and admitted it was a mistake, with no apology. Looks to me like they oversell heavily.

    June 6, 2013 @ 2:22 am | Reply
    • Your VPS was indeed causing one of the higher loads on the node. Not THE highest one. This was the mistake that was made. Your VPS was suspended with a reason. I already explained that in case the VPS is affecting other customers, we do not have the time to send warning messages to the user. Let’s also note that you VPS has been suspended for less than an hour and I’ve re-enabled it in timely manner, explaining that I will keep monitoring it, despite the higher load.
