LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

Nixhost - $6 384MB KVM VPS in France

Updated November 2011: Nixhost has been timing out (from CloudFlare) since 1 November. Their backend might have died completely. Would probably in the dead pool this month.

Nixhost Bradley from Nixhost emailed me their LowEndBox exclusive offer, on their new KVM range which is not available on their website. Here is the sign up link that brings you right into WHMCS ordering page. For $6/month you get

  • 384MB memory
  • 20GB storage
  • 10Mbps unmetered bandwidth, or 1TB/month data transfer at 100Mbps
  • IPv6 available on request
  • KVM/SolusVM

Servers with OVH in France. Payment available in PayPal or AlertPay. ToS here seems to be for the general shared hosting customers (“CGI Abuse Policy”) and can be restrictive in what you wish to host on your VPS (“… Are defamatory, slanderous or trade libelous”). Domain has been registered since September last year by Bradley as “UK Individual”. Somehow Bradley signed his email as “CEO” so I might be confused about the size of this operation.

  1. Hi, I believe i can clear these up.

    1) Client applied for a 5 day trial we used to do on our shared hosting packages. He was hosting illegal and nulled scripts, we learned very quickly abuse would continue on the trials. Said client was terminated and trials were removed shortly after.

    2) as for the thread on webhostingtalk, James clarky was selling a design, infact our first design we used, i dropped my email in the thread and somebody who had his layout sold it to us, in short, i thought it was him selling the layout, as soon the author sent the pm we went about removing it and getting another layout, whether the user was trying to rip us off or scam, I’ll never know, but it was removed.

    3) as for the final thread we had put our clients area on cloudflare to alleviate some of the load we were receiving from multiple attacks, every provider has them and on a thing so sensitive as the client area we move it to cloudflare for protection against SYN Floods (it’s now on our own server, with nginx now) while we moved over to cloudflare the mail kept getting junked, i was curious to see if users on WHT had the same issues.

    • I believe I can clear this up,

We use whois protection to stop clients we terminate threatening to “Swat” us or “Release our dox”, When we offer the 5 day free trial many users that we terminated got very upset and started trying to threaten us, The whois guard is our way of keeping out private lives out of our buisness.

      Kind Regards

Well by hiding whois is breaking nominet rules as you should know being a UK company.

Perhaps you should contact them and get it removed asap as you are a business you are breaking the rules :) and could lead to domain Freeze :|

      • Indeed, I had never noticed it actually. The uk2 panel seems quite broken aswell, doesn’t let the whois record update.

I’ll have someone call them tomorrow.

You or your parner wrote in on the topic i linked. You can refer to your terms of service as much as you like it doesn’t stop the fact that you allow it.

    • No we do not allow DOS from these VPS’s, Infact we have scripts running at intervals of 6 minutes to remove any dos scripts that may be found, we do this to prevent any clients services being affected.

I have sent them an eMail with who did it, I really wouldnt be stupid enough to sendout mass mail with Nixhost in it.

The user that did it has been attempting to “Root” us for months, He found a exploit in their VBulliten (The owner posted) and he tried framing us, Looking good so far, Until the owner gets on as I have sent him proof that is wasnt us and it was who I say it was,.

At lot has become clear from that topic. Your hosting A boooter then acting like a fool saying its legit. A host that is like this will go down the drain.

    • Ben:

I assure you, we are not going down the drain, we have been trading since september last year, (11 Months)

I had checked his script and it is making a connection to ONE server of which I have contacted the server owner and they have said he has permission to do so,

However if this really causes any issues I have suspended his account, If it was a ordanary shell booter making connections to 1000’s of servers it would have been suspended, But as it is only connecting to one server it is not breeching our TOS

      Kind Regards

For the last time it has been proven that we did not hack them, The person that hacked them even posted in the thread, As I said it is now down to the owners of DMEHosting to see what they want to do with him,

Read pages 4 and 5 in the thread and you will see that Nixhost infact had nothing todo with hacking DMEHosting,

  15. You have had an excuse for every hack related source put in front of you. Its all just a bit to much of a coincidence isn’t it. Any one could sign up to WHT to try and take the fault away from you. I know what my opinion is, i suppose its upto the individuals that purchase from you to make there own decision, i certainly wouldn’t put my bank details in your hands.

    August 9, 2011 @ 3:51 pm | Reply
    • Ben:

The user that admitted to hacking them was registered two months before I registered, So therefor it wasnt someone that just signed up was it?

As for “You have had an excuse for every hack related source put in front of you” This is the only “Hack” that we have been accused of, If it was someone like Hostgator being accused of this you wouldnt think twice before you say its a lie, In all honesty if I was to hack them, I wouldnt be stupid enough to send out a mass mail advertising Nixhost. We have been trading for 11 months and we do not need some other companys clients that most likely wont even pay their invoices, And as for “Putting your bank details in our hands” people do not anyway, We do not accept credit card payments and wouldnt either as there is a big risk in doing so, We only accept alertpay and paypal, You can ask any of our previous customers, We have refunded them without thinking twice if they have asked for one, I know I proberly wont change your mind but because someone has accused us of doing somthing, It doesnt actually mean we did it, It would be like me saying “You murdered someone” (Would you like people accusing you of stuff? I highly doubt it) and would me saying you did it mean you actually did? No,

      Kind Regards
      Ben

I am not saying that Ben is telling the truth or that he is lying but please take into consideration that there are many obsessed individuals out there on the Internet, and I experienced the same “I will root you” obsessions from some guys over the years and I know some people that did, and they usually never give up, they even go on for years. I know one that was obsessive about ddosing an IRC network, he even went to jail, and when he came out the next day he started gathering servers to start ddosing again.
