    • The space is confusing.

Why are the OVZ nodes getting 60G but the KVM only 10G?

They’re either overselling the OVZ’s hard or using SSD’s in the KVM’s?

      • This is what i was thinking. I hope they have experience with attempting to over commit RAM in KVM, if they think they have the same ratio as OpenVZ at hand they are in for a big surprise :P

        October 9, 2012 @ 11:01 am | Reply
      • Hi Fran,

VZ are regular 1.5TB Drives where KVM is 450GB SAS 15K Drives, hence the lower space.

We’re not over committing on the ram, feel free to check out our stats here: http://status.nodedeploy.com/

What processors and hard drive setup do you have on the KVM box? 128GB of RAM on only one server is asking for disaster in my opinion.

I picked up a KVM yesterday and so far I’m a bit impressed by the performance. Took just under a minute to compile my kernel, and right now I’m able to use the full 100% of all 6 cores while compiling the gcc toolchain. :)

A small note for the Debian fans: I did not see any Debian ISO’s available in SolusVM, however I’m sure they’ll get them quickly added for you if you ask. They made quick work adding a different gentoo ISO for me (the AMD64 installation ISO’s from ~July and newer have a few bugs, including a broken sshd).

@Phil: Is there more Atlanta stock planned anytime soon? I’ve really been looking forward to getting a VPS in Atlanta with you. :)

I must say that for this price the service is very good and I can highly recommend it. I’ve been using this package for over 2 months and as I said – the service for this money is really top-notch. I had to quit using it however but that’s because of the project cancellation that I’ve tried to launch.

    Hello!

I have one of your VPS plans in Germany, but I’m experiencing an issue.
When trying to use bittorrent as a downloading method, it seems to constantly fail.
I tried downloading an Ubuntu ISO as well as a Backtrack ISO with Transmission and Deluge – the torrent daemons just crashed. Why is this happening? The same daemons with the same configurations on other systems not hosted by your company (even with lower available resources) seem to work.

I’m looking forward to your reply!

This message is to confirm that yes I want the two available I.Ps you offered in the email you sent. However I will not pay for services not rendered. So, if service begins on the 13th then billing should be on the 13th and not as implied that billing begins when invoices is issued. Let’s keep things clear and transparent for everyone to see, as this seems out of character for modern accounting practices.
