Good offer, and I like the legal to stop resource abuse. Hopefully another stable secure VPS :)

      November 22, 2013 @ 9:58 am | Reply
      • Thank you, basically we took a proactive approach to help prevent resource abuse before it happens so our current (and future) customers don’t have to worry. We have state of the art network monitoring as well as a few other “tactics” to keep resource abuse down so we can have a stable balance between performance, price, and support.

        • Tom M:

“Tactics” which include monitoring port 25 and assuming it’s illegitimate because anytime bulk mailings go out they are “spam” – right?

          November 29, 2013 @ 7:39 pm | Reply
          • Typically bulk mail end up being spam unfortunately, far too many IP’s blacklisted to let mail remain unchecked. We also don’t allow bulk mailing anyways without permission. Contacting us before sending large amounts of mail will make things easier for all of us.

    November 22, 2013 @ 10:51 am | Reply
    • We do not have SSD caching currently, however that is a plan for the future.

Here is one of our physical nodes.

      [***@jax1 ~]$ uptime
      10:56:59 up 67 days, 10:16 […]

100% Hardware uptime. We do have a few fresh nodes that we just got in too.

SkylarM @LowEndTalk said: “NodeServ colocates with Crissic”

      November 22, 2013 @ 3:04 pm | Reply
    • We are not part of Crissic. The reason the AUPs are the same is because common sense dictates that we follow the policies and guidelines set in place by an upstream provider, otherwise we would be breaking our contract. To clarify further, we colo our owned hardware in Crissic’s racks at GoRack in Jacksonville, Florida.

As for the prices, we chose to compete with a low price point while providing a high level of service. Its not directed at any particular provider.

      November 22, 2013 @ 3:08 pm | Reply
      • I like the AUP, you list Bittorrent Sync (BTSync),
BTSync is the best thing to move and sync files, no ssh or ftp needed.

        November 22, 2013 @ 4:00 pm | Reply
        • Yes, we have seen how popular BTSync is in the community and we are glad to help nurture the growth of such a wonderful software by allowing our users to host it on our servers.

    • SkylarM:

nodeserv colocates their equipment with us. It’s somewhat common practice for a company to adopt their upstream provider’s TOS and/or AUP when bound by the same rules.

      • Reece:

Same H/W, same deals, they “Colocate” does seem a bit fishy.

        November 23, 2013 @ 4:06 pm | Reply
        • SkylarM:

We are leasing a full cab from GoRack. To offset some of the costs we offer colocation to a few people, NodeServ being one of them. How they run their business model is up to them. The specific hardware isn’t anything extra special, you can buy them from very reputable sellers on Ebay or via other companies (we use a rather large distributor for Crissic servers).

          November 23, 2013 @ 4:43 pm | Reply
        • We are two individual companies as Skylar mentioned, we colocate in their rack in Jacksonville, FL. That is the ONLY connection between NodeServ and Crissic

Resource intensive as in any scripts that use high amounts of resources, such as load, CPU, for long periods of times, as it can cause problems for other clients.

Can your VPS with 1G RAM run Java application ?
I read in internet that Java has bad experience with OpenVZ. Normally my application is not CPU-intensive or eat more memory (rather use Python or other than Java), but since I want to run java app on your VPS box, does it OK ?

    Hi
    few questions

    1. Money Back Guarantees ?
    2. How many virtual servers do you put on your nodes?
    3. Do you offer a backup service?

Going to order OpenVZ1024 annual plan, that’s why afraid a little to make right choice. Or another question, can i make order for 1 month at first, and after 2-nd month order annual plan?

    December 8, 2013 @ 2:36 pm | Reply
    • 1. We have a 5 day money back guarantee
      2. We do monitored over provisioning without depleting resources to enable us to have lower prices with relatively good performance. The number of tends to not matter due to more of x GB plans on one node than another.
      4. We do not offer backups, as with any host you are encouraged to keep your own backups regardless.

You can order one month and change the plan to yearly by contacting us with a ticket.

We look forward to doing business with you.
