    Hi,
this looks like a very interesting offer and the test download was very quick for me as well (Germany).

    Quick questions:
Is the price recurring or will it increase after one year?

The order page asks me for hostname and for name servers. I’m rather unsure what to enter here. I would’ve used a subdomain that I have with namecheap, say “openvirt.mydomain.com”.
I would therefore enter that full name “openvirt.mydomain.com” as hostname.
That leaves the name servers open. Should I inquire with namecheap about them? Are they optional?

    Cheers, Matt

All special annual promos are recurring.

As for nameservers you can use “ns1.mydomain.com” for now to get past the config page. Default DNS are Google’s.

This is lovely: an entire /25 full of botnet controllers, phishing sites, malware, carding sites/orums, TeslaCrypt ransomware, and sites hosting Russian dating botnet spammers. https://www.spamhaus.org/sbl/query/SBL290772

You should contact the SBL team and tell them. I imagine ANY VPS provider would have similar issues.

This is a problem that all providers have to deal with. Nature of the business.

We are working with the SBL team to get this delisted.

How did you conclude that velocity-servers is this company? Or did you find this IP somehow?

    • welcome to ColoCrossing, how would you like your spam spam spam and eggs? with spam or with 1800% more spam than last month’s average? see a typical colocrossing moment in history here — http://www.senderbase.org/lookup/host/?search_string=192-227-215-108-host.colocrossing.com

If my sites are down. see @iRadioTube on twitter for the list of colocrossing IP addresses that have been DDOS ing me for the past several YEARS. still at it, different shell corporations, but some of the IPs are the same ones.

One of these days all of us who have enjoyed the downside will get together and bankrupt CC with a RICO suit.
Hopefully it will be a tight fit and they will be forced to wear it.

For 512 MB RAM package, accept cpu use peak from 10 to 20% sometimes during day?

    • Eric:

CPU peaks are ok as long as you don’t overload the node.

    Two quick questions:
    (1) If I need more RAM than 512MB is there a way to add more RAM to the $20/yr plan, or at least upgrade to the $40/yr plan?
    (2) Is there a way to monitor bandwidth usage to avoid hitting the cap?

    March 28, 2016 @ 5:10 pm | Reply
    • Eric:

Yes, you can always upgrade to a higher plan with more RAM.

You can monitor your traffic usage via the SolusVM control panel.

I tried this offering today (hint: they don’t have that in Atlanta, but they do in LA). Unfortunatrly, I am not satisfied and requested cancellation, because
    – the HDD subsystem is way too slow. The database replication took ages, and my slave always behind master; it can’t even run with the same speed as master.
    – the CPU is Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU C2750 @ 2.40GHz, it is not Xeon.

I have ordered their 180GB 512mb OpenVZ/SolusVM at $20/year on Oct 23, 2015. Order confirmation showed me the recurring Amount: $20.00 USD, billing Cycle: Annually.

But right now, they created renewal invoice on OCT 29, and will charge me $40 plus $4 later fee. My VPS was suspended at the same time. Nobody replys my ticket.

    Any comment?
