OpenVirtuals is part of Intercom Online Inc. and has been in business since 2012 (with the domain having been created in May of that year); their WHOIS information is public. All port speeds are 1Gbps except for their New York City location with Peer1. IP ownership differs per location, with them either being owned by the upstream or by OpenVirtuals themselves. Please perform an IP WHOIS to find own who owns what and where. Unfortunately, I don’t have any host node information. Compared to last time, their SSHD offers have received an additional 17% disk space, which is quite nice. Unfortunately there weren’t that many reviews on their last offer, so please do leave some reviews here if you are a customer.

Servers will be provisioned instantly (depending on host node availability) and all servers come with a 100% uptime guarantee supported by a ‘proactive SLA’. Tried to order, can’t get past the stupid hostname thing

    > Your domain extension .8 is not correct

Don’t companies test our their order forms before going live?

    • It works. Please use a proper top level domain name such as “.net”.

Welp not off to a good start.
Signed up for VPS Paid. Try to login to control panel and I am blacklisted. hmmm Open Ticket.
Check email… 2 transactions for the same invoice. open ticket.

So I have now paid twice for a box I can’t use yet.

    • The 2nd transaction has been refunded. This is not normal and could be a hiccup w/ Paypal.

As to being blacklisted, this is a security feature w/ SolusVM. After three unsuccessful logins, your ip is blacklisted for an hour. A knowledge base article exist via the My-Accounts page for an explanation about the different logins.

Please open a ticket regarding any issues via the ticketing system.

Eric – I’m really new at this but I want to get a VPS to open a amazon affiliate account because I was banned in my first one. Is this some what easy to operate and to figure out? is this linux operating system or is it windows based? thank you

    • This is exclusively Linux.

Generally, we expect clients to know what they’re doing. However, we will assist in getting basic and specific items (like drivers) in place such that your vps will function and will be ready to accept your application.

Give it a shot. We have a ten day money back guarantee.

It’s been a few days now… Everything was going well until I got an email that I have high CPU usage and my VPS has been suspended.

I find it hard to believe the me writing bash scripts caused the Dual core to spike for an extended period of time… However even if it did I don’t believe suspending and disrupting service if the correct thing to do.

Now I have been unable to use my box for over 14 hours and have not heard back from support yet…

    • Derek:

Open virtual has unlocked me. The suspension message was misleading stating it was suspended for CPU. In fact it was suspended for open terminal sessions.

This was due to a program I have that does not close shell sessions properly.
But a warning vs a hard cut off would have been ideal.

    • As you well know, these are shared resources w/ each node containing quite a number of clients. Hence, any activity that endanger the functioning of a node must be dealt with (per our terms and AUP) to protect our service.

For better responsiveness, its best you contact our support directly via the ticketing system rather than by support@ email or here. I see you finally placed a ticket today (2-Feb) in the morning and Alvin responded in about 1 hour.

While I do have a domain I don’t know what/how to fill in the fields under: “Fully Qualified Domain Names are required for your server, ns1 and ns2.” thank you

    • Tim:

Never mind I understand that notation now… but I dont understand why I was charged $4 for the product that is clearly advertised as $3 ?

      • You must use the promo code LEB25% at the checkout and before you pay via Paypal.

Tim: Please open a ticket and we can give you a refund for the difference. Also, we’ll apply the recurring coupon for future invoices.

  7. why is it so hard to find a fast nyc / ny server

    February 8, 2015 @ 5:40 am | Reply
    • You mean: fast, in NYC AND *cheap*.

Rackspace, like rents, don’t come cheap in the Big Apple.
