Although actually having the poll hasn’t been consistent, we’ve had a long tradition of running (or meaning to run) a Quarterly Top Provider Poll with the community on LowEndTalk. We just wrapped up our poll for Q3 of 2016. I’d like to share with you the top 5 provider spots as voted by LET:
1. BuyVM
2. RamNode
3. OVH
4. HostUS
5. Prometeus, DigitalOcean, Dediserve
Additionally, we asked our members to vote on their favorite new providers. These may not actually be new providers, but we left it up to our community to decide:
The number one provider, as voted by the members of LowEndTalk, has been with this community for as long as anyone can remember. When they started offering their $15/year OpenVZ VPS, everyone was sure they were running an unsustainable operation. Fast-forward to today and they’re one of the most successful ventures that grew in the market that this site created.
Congratulations to BuyVM for holding this spot so well, and congratulations to all of the others as well! If you need a solid VPS (or dedicated server in the case of OVH), you can do no wrong by choosing one of the providers listed above.
- Q3 Top Provider Poll Results - November 13, 2016
- BudgetNode – DDoS Protected OpenVZ VPS Starting @ $12/year – Ashburn, Virginia - June 29, 2016
- BuyVM – $7/m KVM 2GB RAM / 40GB SSD / 2TB BW – in Las Vegas - June 17, 2016
Congratulations to all winners, they deserved it . I have vps on buyvm & ramnode both running well :) . Waiting for next promo from all winners.
Funny to see Prometeus in Top provider list, like some dinosaur from George Bush time with no new offers. Forget also add online.net into list. :)
It would be great to see some Dediserve offers on here.
My opinion ssdnodes is the best provider. Ssdnodes has great support and performance.
@Lucas I’d like to strike a blow for Prometeus. I met them through Lowendtalk and they look like they’re on a league by themselves. Their offers may be old but are still active and way better than the average. Only once a year you do find such good offers as theirs. And, if you cared to visit their website, you’d be blown by how many different services they provide, and the exceptionally low prices on the low-end tiers.
i prefer vultr. i used it more almost 3 years and satisfied with their service
can this post be tagged with the “top providers” tag. like here https://lowendbox.com/tag/top-providers/
gets easy finding it later. :)

BuyVM sucks. Their service is mediocre and they are thieves.
They will cancel you for no legitimate reason and keep your money.
The only reason they show high in these polls is that they get
all their juvenile fanboys to vote them up. If you’re a juvenile,
they’re probably fine for you. If you’re a serious adult, steer
well clear.
