QuickWeb was ranked #1 in LowEndTalk’s VPS comparison in 2010 Q4, and to celebrate that they are offering a special on their “Test Box VZ II” packages. Same package as last time at $35.88/Year (or $24/6 months), you can get the following update package:
- 384MB memory
- 10GB storage
- 250GB/month data transfer
- OpenVZ/SolusVM
Servers available in either Los Angeles CA (ordering link) or Germany (ordering link). Promo expires on 15 January (New Zealand time I guess at UTC+11). QuickWeb might not have cheapest offers with biggest spec, but they do excel in support amongst low end box providers.
Disclaimer: LowEndBox.com is currently hosted with QuickWeb in their Xen VPS in Dallas/Softlayer.

Any progress/update on the non-working-IPv6 issue?
LA’s ordering link is broken and also out of stock at the moment. = =
this is a joke isn’t it?
I’s 256MB guaranteed RAM, and 384 burst RAM. So NOT 384 guaranteed RAM.
It is a special offer that upgrade to 384MB guaranteed memory. I know the ordering link still says 256MB Test Box VZ package, but I think the box will be upgraded after signing up.
I’m having problems with my Quickweb VPS in Germany. Someone keeps hammering the disk.

I thought they were going to fix it but this was the reply I received.
I thought quickweb was supposed to be good, I prepaid for half a year :(
please let me know your ticket # and i will personally look at it for you :)
they have nothing to offer in L.A and it will expire on 15th?
what’s going to be expired?
Germany VPS?
We have available stocks now in LA, first come first serve! Please check from time to time as stocks may become available.
We also have Phoenix Location available.
To avail of free RAM upgrade put on the comment box “LEB Free upgrade to 384MB promo”, we will adjust burst RAM to 400MB as well.
Thanks LEA for posting and thank you all for your business, we have a very successful 2010!
Any Xen HVM for a reasonable price in the near future?
joining the question.
Would also like a good XEN deal of similar nature!
Fourth’ed
Not to nitpick but why are you marking our comments as © LowEndBox.com, LEA? http://www.lowendbox.com/blog/quickweb-35-88year-384mb-openvz-vps-in-la-or-germany/feed/
Ha. I basically just attach that on all feeds. This site is getting scrapped left and right and is getting pretty annoying. I’ll see whether I can just remove the copyright notice from the comment RSS feed.
could always try finding which UA/IPs are scraping and serve them some hilariously bad/wrong content
Wow, that was fast. You can put something like “originally posted to lowendbox.com” if it’s a concern. But they probably scrape your post and don’t care for our comments, disrespectful bastards ;)
You’ll be surprised that how many are scrapping both the blog post *PLUS* the comments. For example just search for QuickWeb LowEndBox on Google
http://www.google.com/search?q=QuickWeb+LowEndBox
and read all the scrapped content, especially those with COMMENTS in there!
I believe there’s a wordpress plugin that also adds in the IP address of the scraper to the feed. That’s an easy way to block with a htaccess deny. (Or whatever is used in Nginx.)
And this is what I have done. Some offenders actually scrapped the FeedBurner feed so I have to 403 FeedBurner from Google as well.
Gee, why not put an affiliate links so you can benefit from these illegal harvesters :)
do you provide ipv6 on the German nodes?
no IPv6 yet still waiting for DC to implement.
Hummm is there still 50% rebate deal active or not? Also how much will it cost to upgrade to 512RAM instead in the future? anyone have idea?
Quickweb is just great. It is not the cheapest budget provider, but you will get quality.
All of them is out of stock.. :) Damn.. too late.
we have now have some stocks up for grab! :)
i bought the last offer on 8 Jan but i never recieve last offer promo. can i get this upgrade this for my last order?
thanks
hello all qualified orders via LEB from January 10-15 will qualify…
ah my order not qualify then. i read your last offer it’s said that i will get credit. but unfortunely i miss the offer
Hi Roel. Just paid you and currently playing with it. Is the upgrade still on?
can you please open a ticket or hop over the live chat in our website so i can look at your account? thanks.
Cool be looking out for updates. cheers
Hi!
Is it possible to know a test IP for the german DC?
Thanks!
Hello, please check 80.83.125.200
Hi Joe, could you please take a look at ticket support [Ticket ID: 486356] kloxo login
Thank you.
you said on the ticket you are driving, and Roel said it was already taken cared of last night, please update the ticket if you have further to add, instead of here as this is not our support channel.
$35.88/Year (or $24/6 months) :O why?
That mean if i choose 6month after 6month +$24 ???? or + $24+> $11 only?
or $24+$24 = $48?
Please answer
that means if you pay for 6 months @24 = average of $4/mo, if you renew for another 6 months then pay another $24 as easy as that :)
Then its too much. I hope you change your mind. I also ready to buy only for six month then if i like, continue with QW :). Try to understand me. If one year $35.88 why you charge 6month $24. Is it horrible price?
Thanks.
Z. Rehana, the calculations is easy and the price is no horrible. If you wanted to try, then pay $24 for 6 months or go for $35.88 for 1 year.
I am sure if you go for 6 months definitely the price per month is more than 1 year. Please guys and gals, don’t make it so hard cause its just a budget VPS and QuickWeb has been providing great support.
low price is a reward to those paying annually, definitely you will get what you paid for as we will be here for years to come. thanks for considering us.
can I still order on the 15th till 11:59pm (NZ time)? or does expire on 15th mean only till 14th 11:59pm?
yes you can still order until today and get upgrade promo :)
Roel/Joe, the clientarea has a 404 error on this URL https://secure.quickweb.co.nz/system/clientarea.php
I cant submit a ticket regarding this upgrade as my VPS is 256MB memory instead of 384MB.
Hello,
yes we are fixing SSL issue for the mean time go to this link, note i just removed “s” in the https
http://secure.quickweb.co.nz/system/clientarea.php
the Helpdesk menu link in the website should be working.
Roel
Good News!!!! Due to popular demand, we are extending the promo until 20th January 2011! hope to see you onbard and enjoy this free upgrade.
Just a quick question before I hit checkout. Xen or OpenVZ? I know it has been asked many times, but in that company which nodes are best (doesn’t really matter to me)? I’m also interested in low pings. The IP 80.83.125.200 is on a OpenVZ or a Xen host?
In other words, are OpenVZ hosts in the same DC as Xen hosts? Are OpenVZ and Xen hosts running on similar hardware? And if no, what host is 80.83.125.200 running on and what virtualisation technology uses the best hardware?
Thanks and sorry for asking so many questions, but I’m willing to stay for a couple of years.
this promo is for OpenVZ, openVZ and Xen are on the same DC.
Any chance of a nice special on your XEN plans? Pref ~512mb ram?
please email us and we can give you a good deal in Germany Xen
Got one a couple of days back. Good going so far.
Good news we are extending this offer on our LA location until 10 Feb 2011. just mention this in the comment section when you order so we can add the free upgrade!
Thanks :)
Cann you extend it also for the german location? only for me? :P
we just submitted a our new UK location offer (Feb promo) just not sure if we will get selected though, sorry we are short of stock in DE.
I would like to know why you call this a test box ? Are these not stable or not backed up ?
I want to host my sites off this VPS.
we have so far 100% up time on all nodes since introducing these, it is just a name for our dirt cheap VPS :)
Yes, you should consider a name change.
The only thing that makes me nervous about my VPS with you is its name! :)
it’s just psychological thing, you know the server performs well and always online compared to others who aren’t calling their VPS a test box :)
Yes, three weeks only but pleased with the uptime and service speed so far.
Scam!!!,I have a VPS before 5 days with quickweb but i don’t really use it, therefore i cancalled VPS with QuickWeb. They don’t refund the money, i paid in 1 year. It is not fair.
@TL :
Have you read the TOS?
Payment & Refund
As consideration for QuickWeb providing the Hosting Services hereunder, Client agrees to pay QuickWeb the necessary subscription fee based on the hosting plan and billing terms subscribed to. All sales are final to all delivered services and we provide NO REFUND unless otherwise stated or advertised in a promotion (proof required). It is considered delivered services upon Client’s use of provided account user name and password to access our network & services. QuickWeb shall only provide full or partial payment refund when QuickWeb failed to deliver Client ordered hosting services within 2 working days after receipt of payment. QuickWeb reserves the right to deny Client the use of any payment method for, but not limited to, abuse or misuse of a payment method. All fraudulent payment will be subjected to immediate termination of account.
Account Cancellation
Client must submit service cancellations by opening a ticket through our client portal or using the portal’s service cancellation request at least 2 days but not more than 30 days before the end of the service’s billing cycle. Cancellation requests are not accepted through phone, email, fax, or any other method besides through opening a ticket through our client portal. You must have all account information to cancel an account. Only the authorized account holder may cancel the account. In the event of cancellation, Client will automatically be billed for any excess bandwidth usage during the then-current monthly billing cycle. All terminated accounts that doesn’t undergo to proper account cancellation procedure will be totally blacklisted from accessing our websites and shall be deemed as undesirable Client with no possibility of requiring any services with us in the future.
I think you should reconsider the word “scam”, their TOS:
“All sales are final to all delivered services and we provide NO REFUND unless otherwise stated or advertised in a promotion (proof required).”
So I don’t think they have to refund you.
You should read more here. http://www.lowendbox.com/blog/quickweb-2nd-anniversary-lowendbox-exclusive-offers/
That was almost a year ago when we first introducing the yearly pre-payment option, all people who signed up during that period are entitled to that refund policy. Hope this makes it clear, please feel free to update the ticket if you have more questions.
Yes we do not have standard refund policy in place for all provisioned servers as per ToS, however we do **still** give refund in cases like we cannot provide the service in full or in part due to circumstances not of client’s fault like we decided to abolish some plans or server at some DC location for example then we will refund non delivered services for remaining months, we review each cases individually.
In case of early cancellation, is not covered by refund policy as we intend and are motivated to deliver the service(s) in full be it 6 months or even 1-year term.
However i’m working with this client so he can get some sort of refund. I do encourage people to read TOS or contacting the host first to clarify things before signing up to avoid misunderstanding and wild accusations.
I would love to know when these are available in Germany. Also, any link to your FEB promo ?
Germany order link is in the original post by LEA, if you need UK now email me rg(at)quickweb.co.nz
Where in your page are published the Test Boxes?
it is not available in our website we only sell it in WHT and LEB.
Oh, thank you! I saw the post in WHT, and the order link to test boxes $1.99 in Germany still works, do you have that vps’s available?
we do not have the $1.99 in Germany only the $2.99 thanks.
They have the best and affordable VPS to offer…
I have 5 VPS under them to date and more to come.
Thank You Quickweb!
hm, my quickweb VPS in germany just went down. And I’m unable to boot it. It’s the first time so I will wait…
We are looking on it, open ticket if you have questions and for update.
okay, thanks
Excellent news it’s without doubt. we’ve got been awaiting for this information.
I have only said good things so far, so here is my first major downtime – for the last 5 hours. Waiting for the issue to be resolved while I correspond on support tickets.
your server should be up now, the node never been downed for 5 hours but there’s been firewall issue after DDoS attacks that blocked SolusVM connection and some ports hence it appears off line there. We do reboot the machine after performing some emergency maintenance. We apologise for inconveniences.
Yes, up now. Thanks for the quick action on the issue, appreciated.
And yes, I can certainly add they are a fine company to deal with and their top ranking on LEB is well deserved, based on my 2 months of experience.
Cool be looking for updates. cheers
I am having a weird problem I cannot seem to be able to subscribe to your RSS feed. i am using google reader FYI.
The first impression is quite important and this is what I’ve got:
hxxp://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/833/quickweb.jpg/
This is the first time I go to their site and got this result, and I will stay away from providers like this.
sorry about that it is already fixed, we are having issue with CDN provider apparently that page is still at the CDN link which is now redirected to server page.
@meou, can you please give an actual link next time? This isn’t a warez board.
Troubled them enough for an IP block issue not related to them. They have been professional and patient all through.
+1
Renewal time, and I may have to qualify my earlier gung-ho statements a bit. There has been some sporadic downtime here and there which is acceptable to certain extent, but the communication quality seems to be going down.
Roel – if you are around, please do take a look at Ticket #367372.
Thanks.
Sorry to hear about that i have checked the ticket no provided and figured the cause was misagreement with upgrade you are requesting and the price you are demanding for a specs you want initially. These budget VZ are not designed for some upgrade as it will compete with our other standard plans if you can look at Supa VZ1 that’s is $9.95 and you want better specs that that for half the price whichs we cannot sustain however i saw Joe did offered price close to the amount you want to pay…. i noticed you also demanding to be moved to another node and retain IP which is not possible in Germany due to the way VLAN was setuped so i guess there are much that went there rather than simplre renewal.
While i also notice some incorrect invoicing but that was adjusted, i wish i was involved i the ticket so it wa handled better. Anyway all the best for your hosting if you need anything else from me please email me directly rg(at)quickweb.co.nz :)
That is not accurate, Roel.
I have responded here: http://www.lowendbox.com/blog/quickweb-4-99m-openvz-384mb-ram-in-phoenix-los-angeles-germany/#comment-61871
