LEA (LowEndAdmin) is the original founder of LowEndBox and the visionary who gave rise to an entire movement around minimalist, efficient hosting. In 2008, LEA launched LowEndBox with a simple but powerful idea: that it was possible to run meaningful applications, web servers, VPNs, mail servers, and more – on small, low-cost virtual machines with minimal resources.
At a time when most infrastructure discussions were dominated by high-end servers and enterprise platforms, LEA championed the opposite approach: lightweight Linux distros, self-managed servers, open source software, and thoughtful optimization. This philosophy gave birth to the term “Low End Box”, which would come to define a new genre of hosting tailored to developers, tinkerers, and budget-conscious users around the world.
Through LowEndBox and its companion forum, LowEndTalk, LEA built the foundation for what would become one of the most active and enduring communities in the hosting world, prioritizing knowledge-sharing, transparency, and accessibility.
After several years of nurturing the site and community, LEA stepped away from active involvement, passing the torch to a new generation of admins, contributors, and moderators. Today, LEA remains a respected figure in the LowEnd ecosystem, credited with launching a platform and philosophy that continues to influence thousands of infrastructure providers and users globally.
LowEndBox’s legacy, and its thriving community, is a direct result of LEA’s original vision.
thanks LEA, now i know what’s the reason of sudden surge of web traffic to our site :) LEB really rocks! If anyone have any questions or require custom package please drop me an email.

Maybe you meant supa? well Kiwis pronounced Super like Supa lol. :)
THanks! Please give me test IP for US node
Hello, here’s the test IP 174.138.164.131
Securedservers an awesome ISP you use there :)
@joe: how do you handle dmca/abuse complaint? I want to host porn site, is it ok?
@Sonic,
depends on the nature of abuse and the given by the DC of we are given enough time you will be contacted to remove the said material.
@Daniel,
Yes are only hearing good things about them and we carefully select our upstream provider to ensure reliability and long term business.
@Sonic sorry for the typo, I meant to say “depends on the time given to us by DC to resolve the matter” otherwise we may temporarily suspend the VPS until i get hold of you for compliance, this is not to put the whole node I jeopardy.
We allow legal adult.
I tried to order a Xen VPS – my order got marked as fraud. Website said I would be contacted. Nothing happened. I opened a ticket, and was promised a manual invoice. Few days later automatic e-mail that my ticket was closed. Polite question by e-mail about said invoice. No answer. Today last trial by online ticket, and was asked to order again.
No hard feelings, just to much work to order from this place. (Non-Fraud) Greetings from Germany …
Interesting how Germany is getting marked as Fraud. Haven’t really seen that before.
well there are a lot of reason why our fraud system thought it is fraud order, one is if one is using proxy, provided incorrect address or simply the IP/email address he is using has a history and was in the database of fraud systems provider. In this case we review it manually but not necessarily it is exactly fraud that’s why i told him to place another order so it can be processed manually.
Sorry about that, we deal with fraud order seriously as chargebacks is hurting this business. I told you to just order again so i can easily spot it and process manully on the spot. Please give us another try and i’ll make it sure we will review it ASAP :)
additional ip $2.50USD Monthly? really expensive :P
due to scarcity of IPv4 we always assume 1 IP per budget VPS would be enough.
Which data center in Germany you use ?
Hello,
We are at Equinix Datacenter in Dusseldorf see http://bit.ly/92rzql
Hi Joe, please give me test IP for DE node :D
sure thing, go and hit 80.83.125.200
I have received my VPS yesterday from Phoenix AZ node. It has 512MB and 2 cores. UnixBench 5.1.2 score:
The score is quite great: 1058.4
But I don’t see any improvement when using 2 cores over 1 core. A little bit weired???
Here’s my disk speed test:
Simply amazing! I think there is just a few vps in my node :)
