RAM Host - $15/year 128MB OpenVZ in Kansas and $35/year 128MB KVM in London

TinyVZ

This is another post where a host did not send us any ticket. Similar to my last post, I thought it would be nice to do a throwback for all the old time readers of LowEndBox. This time we are featuring RAM Host, a very popular and consistent top 3 provider in the days of LowEndAdmin. I visited their 2 website brands and found out that their order links are still working.

TinyVZ

  • 128MB MB RAM
  • 256MB Burst RAM (Kernel 2.6.26)
  • 10GB Disk Space
  • 500GB transfer
  • 1Gbps uplink
  • 1x IPv4
  • 1x IPv6 – more on request at no charge
  • OpenVZ
  • Kansas City location
  • Order here
TinyKVM

  • 128MB MB RAM
  • 3GB Disk Space
  • 500GB transfer
  • 1Gbps uplink
  • 1x IPv4
  • /112 IPv6
  • KVM
  • London location
  • Order here

For old community members of LowEndBox, RamHost was once a very popular host here. They have been operating since January of 2009 and was featured several times already. They have good reputation and comments are generally positive. Note that these two offers have minimal to no support. You may need to try the other plans from Ram Host to get semi-managed support. I hope that this post will make Ram Host send us offers again in the near future. Kindly share your thoughts on the comments section below.

Their checkout page seems to indicate that they only support Paypal and 2CO for payments. Host node and network information are not available since we did not communicate with them for this offer. Kindly review the Terms of Service for TinyVZ and TinyKVM here and here before making any purchase.

I remember these guys. When I first found out about low end hosts there were these guys and BuyVM.

The thing is, a site that hasn’t updated it’s site or plans for years gives me the impression that it’s a company someone has forgotten/doesn’t care about

Probably would have been better to contact Ramhost and ask them if they were willing to share any offers for their regular OpenVZ and KVM products rather than post these outdated products.

Exactly @Joe Merit; I think it’s unprofessional not to contact the host before publishing “deals”

You could have done a little better than post the exact same thing he posted back in 2011.

Did you see these offers posted somewhere recently? IIRC even if LEA posted without contacting the host, it would still be based on their recent offers, perhaps posted on WHT or when a host announce their new products/sub-brand. Contacting them might give us readers better offers than the ones posted almost 4 years ago.

Also, even if I believe ramhost is still a good provider, but posting randomly based on “website and order links still working”, you might someday post a provider that silently deadpooled.

I think it was a good idea to post that despite being an old offer. It’s actually something I was looking for and I didn’t read it back in the day.

I think this said “I hope that this post will make Ram Host send us offers again in the near future”. So, it means that by posting they might be motivated to offer something. I think it is a good idea, not to stick to tickets was indeed a GREAT idea.

          Thanks!

I have been their client for years, since 2011, and they’re rock solid.

I definitely recommend them for anyone looking for a stable server.

RamHost is actually a good provider. They are reliable which is a huge plus… if you have a support issue they will respond quickly in my experience (which was maybe 1-2x over the course of 2 years at least). I’ll agree that their normal offerings outside of TinyVZ are not really competitive these days however (due to specifications) but at least they’re rock solid performance and connectivity wise.

I also agree with Quin where it seems unprofessional to publish “deals” without contacting the host. Free publicity is nice but it may not always be wanted.
