LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

SoftShellWeb: Exceptional Value in EU/US (KVM 1GB-6GB from $20/year!)

SoftShellWeb recently posted on LowEndTalk and I asked them if they’d like to expand their audience to the LEB readership as well, and here we are.  They’re a new player (2019) based in the UK, offering service in Amsterdam and San Jose.

I like their approach to bandwidth: they give you a set allocation, and then if you exceed it they throttle you.  Perfect for people who are still figuring out how much they need, or folks who have bursty needs.  They’re running KVM nodes on some solid gear and have a nice spread of offers ranging from 1GB to 6GB of RAM.

BTW, did I mention that soft shell crab poboys are one of my all-time favorite foods?  I may have to give them a try just because of that.

Their WHOIS is public and they are registered in the UK. You can find their TOS on their website and you can pay with (let me take a deep breath before I read these off): PayPal, Alipay, Debit/Credit Card, BitCoin, UnionPay, WebMoney, Moneta, QIWI, India Netbanking, iDeal, SOFORT Banking, DOKU, DragonPay, Boleto, Banco do Brasil, Alfa-Click, Malaysia e-banking, Pago Fácil, Rapi Pago, Red Pagos, and last but not least, Bancontact.

Remember that the LEB community thrives on individual sharing their experiences, so if you try out SoftShell Web Hosting, please comment below!

Here’s what they had to say:

“SoftShellWeb is a professional web hosting provider and experienced data center operator. Since 2019 the company has provided private and business clients with high-performance hosting products as well as the necessary infrastructure for efficient operation of websites. 4. Fixed the 6GB offer typo :-)

    Also we had some art assets go astray when we had to restore LEB from backup, and I hadn’t noticed this was one of the few articles affected. I re-uploaded the missing images in this article so it should render correctly now.

    Any issue running a channelsdvr (getchannels.com) or plex server on these plans? Looked at the TOS and it wasn’t clear if this would be allowed or not. Thanks

    The link for “KVM – 1GB RAM” (EU offer) is not correct; it should end with

    pid=116
