LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

SpotVPS - $5.99/Month 2GB OpenVZ VPS in Las Vegas

Jacob from SpotVPS, emailed us with a new offer for LowEndBox users. They were last featured back in August of 2011. This offer is available in Las Vegas until stock runs out.

LEB Exclusive Offer

  • 2048MB RAM
  • 3072MB Burstable
  • 50GB Disk Space (with RAID)
  • 500GB Bandwidth
  • 1Gbit Port Speed
  • 4 CPU Cores
  • 1 IPv4 address
  • OpenVZ/SolusVM
  • $5.99/Month – Order Link
  • Location: Las Vegas, Nevada.

Their parent company, ComfortHost, were established in 2004, but SpotVPS has only been in business for just over a year. There doesn’t seem to be many reviews, but overall the feedback on LowEndBox and LowEndTalk doesn’t seem too bad, but with a hiccup or two. Their Las Vegas nodes are located in the FiberHub/VegasNAP facility. VPS servers are instantly activated and deployed on one of their brand new E3-1230 or Core i7 950 dedicated servers, which have 8 logical cores. SpotVPS also provide VPS in three other datacenters in the united states and are planning to expand to Spain and the UK soon.

1000GB of Bandwidth, can be purchased for an extra $1/Month and their IPv4’s are priced at $2/Month. They accept payments via PayPal and 2Checkout. They also have a 30 day, no questions asked, money back guarantee. They do not permit any streaming or IRC on their servers; their full Terms of Services can be found here and their Acceptable Use Policy can be found here.

The cheap BW on Gbit is great — shame about the streaming policy.

Thank you for posting our offer, it’s really appreciated!

We offer a lot of operating systems once your VPS is activated, and if you want something that isn’t listed, just contact us – I am sure we can add it.

      Personal VPN is allowed.

    This one’s advertised strangely, if I read it wrong;

I followed the order link, but instead of getting a VPS with the advertised 2048MB RAM/3072MB Burstable, I received all the above but with only 256MB RAM, a pretty substantial step down.

Again, if I read the above advertisement wrong then feel free to correct me, but nowhere on the site did it indicate how much RAM I was paying for before I saw the 256MB on the ‘services’ tab. :(

I responded to your ticket. You were allocated the advertised RAM. Please respond to the ticket at your earliest convenience.

    • Thanks for the offer Chris! Picked one up.

I don’t blame Chris for doing this at all, the VPS market is tough and providers have to do what they can to get and keep customers.

I agree with Ashley Hawkridge here. Someone post offer and immediately Chris Fabozzi jumps in and spam thread with OWN offers. That’s not the way. It’s disrespectful idiocy. Thread is called “SpotVPS – $5.99/Month 2GB OpenVZ VPS in Las Vegas” and it has nothing to do with Chris Fabozzi company.
@Chris Fabozzi sadly I can’t flag your post as spam here however show some respect to LEB and wait your own chance to use this community for sales instead hijacking other offers without any good reason except your own profit.

        Thank you Spirit :)

And i also think the lack of a reporting features is simply a joke. How long does his ad have to sit here generating sales before somebody realizes.

      • Spirit:

He’s doing this long enough that no one reach or take it as wrong. We get used to it and he can easily get away no matter what he do but it is wrong. It’sjust wrong to join other hosts promotional threads shamelessly just to kill their sales and increase own sales. In “old” LEB times hosts wouldn’t dare to do this or atleast not so openely, but now we take it as completely natural and do nothing.
This what he’s doing is disprespectful to other hosts, disprespectful to person who invested own time to post this offer (Humza) and disprespectful to rest of community.

Very impressed with this VPS so far, $6 a month!

For anyone interested, here is a GeekBench2 test I ran on it:
    http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench2/1226251

I find the internet speed very impressive-sometimes hitting over 40MB/s (yes, megaBYTE).

The processor used is an Intel Xeon 1230V2, and has performance right around that of a high-end desktop i7. The RAM, from my tests, is fairly fast, and Disk IO speeds are great. My only complaint is that some of their debian installs don’t seem to work too well, but CentOS has worked amazingly well.

Best deal I’ve found for a VPS so far.

Bought a vps, it was delivered instantly. Then I installed a lightweight control panel and this VPS is so slow that a 512mb ram small vps can outrun this anytime.

This is slower than any VPS I have ever used.

These guys are simply overselling, no one can provide 2gb ram and the so much stuff they are offering for $6/mo

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!! The $3.50 vps on LEB are much better then this.

    I want a refund…

    Wasted lots of time :(
