SSD VPS have been featured on our site a few times before. Last time we featured them they had recently launched their Toronto, Canada location, which is now still going strong. Nodes are using the Intel Xeon E3-1240v2 Quad Core CPU, 4x 480 GB Intel 520 Series SSD and a LSI 9260-4i with BBU providing hardware RAID 10. Reviews on their previous offer were, once more, fairly mixed. Benchmark tests performed extremely well but some users seemed to have had problems with their support team. If you try them, please share your experiences with us!

SSD VPS accepts payments via PayPal, and credit cards through PayPal. According to their website, all their services come with a 72 hour money back guarantee. All servers come with a free “two week retention full backup”. Full backups are made every week and saved for two weeks. Plans will be instantly activated upon payment receipt. IPv6 is not available at this time. Legal adult content and gaming is allowed. They are quite strict about sending e-mail, though, so be sure to read their Terms of Service before you give them a shot!

How does the 2 IPs work? 2 IPs for the same server at the same location?

    • So does the offer/company.

Simply a way for them to justify IPv4 allocations with ARIN.

comments coming slowly if at all; anyone have experience with these guys? a lot of resources for not too much and the extra IPs are definitely an enticement. I read some of the earlier posts and it seems like these guys might do support like budgetvm.

I don’t care about running a mail server or even ip six, but need reliable reliable reliable …

Looking for a SSD in Los Angeles but DO does not do multiple IPs.

I have a VM with them with one of their previous offers, I think http://lowendbox.com/blog/ssd-vps-7-2gb-ram-40gb-ssd-openvz-in-los-angeles/

When the VM is online it works well. However, there’s relatively frequent packet loss (maybe for an hour or so every two weeks) and also recently getting several reboots of the VM (maybe once a week). I don’t need the SSD so I haven’t measured its quality, from their last post I think some people said the quality wasn’t that great. For what I’m running, though, haven’t had any problems with their CPU/disk.

Well, this guy is pretty pissed at them for deleting his vps. http://www.reddit.com/r/webdev/comments/1rcwxv/warning_httpssdvpscom/

It is definitely his fault that his backups weren’t recent enough, but hte claims he was nowhere near his bandwidth limit.

After talking with him on Reddit, that guy simply doesn’t understand what an unmanaged vps is. I tried explaining the costs of managed vps’s and he kept making excuses. He is simply on a witchhunt. It is now hard to know the exact way things went down between the host and him now that he is no longer a reliable source.

i have been using them for a few months (since their last LEB post). My VPS has been up and I havent had any issues. The SSD disk helps with fast loads and the network is real good for me. I run zPanel for a few sites (nothing critical) but it’s working out great.

If it was bad then they remove it because the owner of this website is friends with the owner of ssd vps.

        Is this really true?

Welp, I guess I’m done with LEB now that system is corrupt. Time to let Reddit and Slashdot know.

Though the comment I replied to has me worried, I also realize that the poster (kriss) of the complaint that got taken down is unreliable, so no pitchforks need to be raised, yet.

            I am not kriss.

It is true though that vpsace and ssdvps is owned by the same dude. Lookup vpsace and you will be suprised why I mentioned it. I probably will not put the link in here as it would just get deleted.

For any interested, you can see this parent’s attempt to raise pitchforks at /r/webdev.

      http://www.reddit.com/r/webdev/comments/1rcwxv/warning_httpssdvpscom/

He claims he shouldn’t have to back up his site more than once a week. After his SSDVPS issue, he has decided that a home server is a better idea. Then, he goes on to talk about why he doesn’t need offsite backups or off-site redundant servers because Latvia has 100% uptime.

TL;DR: kriss is a stubborn fool

Unfortunately, their infrastructure, especially network, is not very robust. They require pre-payment but only provide credit and not refund. Their support staff has tried to be helpful to diagnose the problem, but it is not possible to operate my cluster when the network connection between their nodes is unreliable. I asked for a partial refund, but they only will offer a credit toward future service that I cannot use.

suck and unprofesional, they suspended all my server but they still charged it, no explanation to refund or give any solution…

  13. I have have had my site with them for about 5 months and they were down for about 5 hours on a saturday. Other than that I haven’t had any problems. Their support has replied within 24 hours. My server is fast and I run 15+ sites on 1 gig of memory. I avoid hosting a mail server which just eats memory like a pig.
