The conversion to CAD on the website is incorrect.

When viewing in USD you get a $20 USD discount (from a total of $30 USD), which gives the total monthly price of $10 USD.

When going to the CAD view you get a $20 CAD discount (from a total of $40 CAD), which gives you the total monthly price of $20 CAD.

$10 USD is $12.87 CAD as of July 10th, 2017

    you are correct

this is a limitation on the promotion system that we use,

you can make the order but dont pay , we will manually fix it for any order that use CAD

Is this offer in CAD or USD then? If it’s $120 CAD that’s an amazing deal.

      • it is in USD
and even though it is USD it is still amazing offer :)
you can always pay by CAD which is approx USD X 1.3

Wow, finally someone comes with decent storage offer.
2TB are a bit too much for me now (100GB that I have from different LEB will do for now), but I like the fact that companies start to make such offers.

Any way I could get more than one dedicated IPV4 if I decided to sign up?

Also, do you guys support older variations of Ubunutu such as 14.04 or 15.10?

    July 11, 2017 @ 1:25 am | Reply
    • Hi James,
for extra IPv4, you can ask for it in a ticket, (2$/extra ipv4/month)
we only accept 2 extra IPv4 per vps
and for any 3 IPv4 vps we dont allow mailing.

For the OS , we will work today on ubuntu 14.04 template so it should be added soon to the os list.

They seem to be very responsive on here. Have you considered that it’s possible that they just don’t want to do business with you because of your attitude? Just because a company has something to sell doesn’t mean they have to sell it to you.

  12. We use Ceph erasure coding to protect the data.
our current protection level is 3 extra chunks (we can sustain a loss of 3 disks in a group) .
with the group size of 8 so up to 3 disks can be lost and the data is intact .

from our calculation this config gave maximum data protection possible (way better than raid 6 and raid 0)

the disadvantage of that config it made the storage a slower so we fixed that by having another SSD Pool acting as cache layer .

the final result is a pool that extremely resilient to errors with good access speed .

I am planning to do post about it in our website as this stuff is interesting :) . lack of free time is the cause why you didnt see it yet.

One more question is I found 2TB HD plan (1core 1G ram) is $10 and 4TB HD plan (2cores 4G ram) is $30 after using the coupon code.

Is it possible to have a special plan for me is 4TB HD and 1core 1G ram (Unmetered Bandwidth also ) but pay $20 monthly. Thanks.

By SSD for OS, do you mean the user gets a small SSD partition (how large?) to install an OS, plus the bigger data partition out in the CEPH cluster? Or is the user OS also on CEPH? Thanks.

    July 24, 2017 @ 5:30 am | Reply
    • Hi Paul2,
the OS is installed on the ceph cluster , so you will get only 1 harddisk on the vps that is 2TB of size.
we decided to make the OS on ceph in order to allow us to offer high availability in the future if users are intersted as we can make the VM run in this case even if we lose the home server it was running on.

I was initially very impressed by this, but having ordered a VPS on Saturday I’m still waiting for it to be provisioned by Monday evening. Their technical support has been claiming an “issue” for the past 36 hours. This means their 99.9% SLA is untrue, as 36 hours is already well over 0.1%. Oh dear.

    July 24, 2017 @ 1:59 pm | Reply
    • Hi Lee,

I am sorry for the delay but I think this will be better experience compared to give you semi working server
the SLA is for running vps not for accepting the order.
We had very long an complicated issue which was resolved today very early in morning and we are monitoring the system since then to make sure every thing is functional 100% .
we decided to not accept any order till we finish 24 hour while monitoring the system.

We prefer to delay the acceptance of the order than accepting and giving you semi functional server

By the way this is the first time since we started more than 7 years ago we have an order pending more than 12 hours if the order didnt have issues.

we will start processing the pending orders in approx 6 hours from now.

      really sorry for the delay.

VPS is up and running now and I have been given 8 days free service as well as being credited for the 3 days’ wait. I appreciate the SLA is for the running service. To be fair I’ve been impressed that you’ve responded to my tickets, but surprised that you didn’t pro-actively contact me (and presumably other customers) rather than waiting for me to keep replying to the tickets before giving a response.

So positive and negatives there but overall a good response for a very good value service. I think overall my feedback would be to put a message on your homepage and network status when you’ve had such a severe issue and to give pro-active replies rather than waiting for the customer to contact (yet again) before responding.

        Thanks again.

As of Tuesday morning, I’m still waiting. Their support has told me to wait 1-2 hours in the first ticket reply, then 24 hours in the second ticket, then a “couple more hours” in the third ticket. This seems to be a major outage but their network status page is showing no issues. I’m now worried about the VPS I purchased for another customer if this is how they run their service. Very worrying.

So just in case anybody is using a VPN to order and can’t connect without it, don’t waste your time. They will refuse your order (even if you send them valid ID) because your country of residence needs to match the IP. So either fake your home address or be honest like I was and look for another offer.

    April 28, 2019 @ 12:37 pm | Reply
    • Hi T,

      you are correct,

For us to accept any order it has to pass 2 criteria

1- The IP address must not be proxy/vpn IP address

2- The address of the user must match the physical address associated with the IP

We are not trained or equipped to check users IDs thats why we follow the 2 simple rules above.

Ordered a storage VPS as they were still doing the deal. Set up quickly. Subsequently there was a problem with my node and I kept getting errors on my VPS. They set up another server and swapped me to that and transferred all my data intact before deleting the old server. Very slick and all done without any hassle. I can’t find anywhere even close to these guys for price on such a large disk size. Would recommend wholeheartedly.
