Are any KVMs available in Chicago? Don’t see any in the drop down list.

    • Good Morning,

At the moment, our KVM VPS’s are only available in Los Angeles. We are working to introduce these in Chicago next! Thanks for your interest.

Is IPv6 available for the KVM VPS?

    September 19, 2018 @ 2:03 am | Reply
    • Good Morning Frank,

We are working on implementing native IPv6 support across our entire network at the moment. Once this is available, we will be happy to allocate this to existing and new clients at no extra charge! In the meantime, you can definitely set up a IPv6 tunnel and we have some clients doing this today.

I purchased a KVM. Then used a HE tunnel for IPv6 as you suggested. I am very pleased with the results. The VPS is very fast for this price. Thank you!!

WOOO! Attractive pricing for KVM plans. Finally some love for the Docker folks like me.

    Couple questions:

    1. By Custom OS, do you mean that I can install from my own ISO if I ever want to?
    2. Can I upgrade my VPS to a promotional package here later on if I need more resources?

    Thanks for your time!

    September 19, 2018 @ 2:25 am | Reply
    • Good Morning Vincent,

Yes, that is correct – if our existing wide variety of OS selections somehow does not fit your needs, you will be able to contact support with your ISO and we can mount it for you. You will be able to upgrade your VPS in the future.

Denis – agreed, the same story. Nothing is truly fixed. Network is flaky, SSDs always need optimizing to maintain speed above 50Mb per sec, etc. Move on, don’t waste your time. I have an army of tickets like you do, without any final resolution.

I’ve been having a lot of problems with downtime, too. Is it the same for KVM?

            October 20, 2018 @ 3:43 am | Reply
    • I have the same experiences. Many down times due to high server load. A few days ago, I opened a ticket and the support person acknowledge that there was a server load issue. Today it just happened again. Identical issue, server load is higher than 40. Meanwhile, I don’t have anything heavy running on my VPS. I opened a ticket. The support person said that it is my problem, and said that there cannot be server load issue anymore. He shows me that the my VPS is fine. Of course, he can just conveniently reply the ticket when the load is back to normal and act as if nothing happened. Now I am completely lose any confidence in the company. Stay away from them.

Can’t say that completely happy. Every week, sometimes twice – 5-10 minutes downtime per week, nothing major but at the same time annoying. Disk speed is good at times, than gets bad. Ticket opened, issue fixed, after some time – reverts back to so so disk speed (50 MB/s). Please fix, this is a consistent issue that happened 2x or 3x!
On the plus side – generous packages, knowledgeable support staff, and quick response time.

      Eugen,

That’s interesting. Take it for whatever it’s worth, but I’ve had a completely different experience with them. I got their SSD plan a couple months ago, and have found the disk speeds are pretty damn quick even till now, and even faster than my instances with vultr and DO when benching them side-by-side.

First time?? You must be joking…
        Ticket numbers:
        #810717 (09/02/2018) – very slow disk speed
        I/O (1st run) : 30.3 MB/s

#352837 (09/19/2018) – Very slow disk speed [when I started paying attention again as needed to use the service]
        I/O (1st run) : 48.2 MB/s

        #657832 (09/20/2018)- VPS down
“network issue with our server and we have fixed it”

        #303574 (09/24/2018) – Short periods of downtime
IP that was provided didn’t even have network connectivity..

        #794713 (09/25/2018) – VPS down again
“We have issue with our DC end and we have resolved it”

Last time down: 7:51 PM, back 8:02 PM ET. No back end or OS changes during any of these periods.
Now, you would probably wonder – would these guys be curious to enable statuscake or any other monitoring of their service? No, “We can’t setup anything from our end. Kindly check with your vps.”

Daily exchange of support emails, one location has network issue, another one – slow SSD speeds (<50Mb / sec). Not happy. While specs look good, these guys need more expertise in addressing issues and running tight ship. Also, boxes go up and down for short time <10 minutes about once per day to once per week. IPs that they assign to the box cannot go out to the internet, and many other issues. Moving on to another provider.

If you attempt to run anything on your VPS these guys will suspend it for you right quick. And will be in no hurry to unsuspend it, especially if you’ve pre-paid. For some reason, this host thinks prepaid = low priority client. Sure, I can’t get my money back, SupremeVPS, but I sure as hell can prevent you from getting at least 30x my initial amount from future sign-ups :)

Do yourself a favor: stay away from SupremeVPS if you want to run nginx or nodejs. If you’re doing it for VPN and ZNC yes, that’s fine. I did not get suspended when I was running just that.

I second that, here is what you get with their “SSD” = Super Slow Drive. Stay as far away as you can from SupremeVPS, 60x :)

      I/O (1st run) : 44.6 MB/s
      I/O (2nd run) : 63.5 MB/s
      I/O (3rd run) : 40.0 MB/s

  24. Can:

It’s been a little over a month since I purchased a VPS from them, and haven’t been able to use it properly yet. They keep killing processes on my VPS, with bogus reasons like “‘top’ command load average over 1.0”, which means 1/8*100 = 12.5% load for an 8-core VPS.

Each time, I try to explain them the math, but they keep replying with some copy/pasted or irrelevant answers about “fair share”.

A sentence from one of the replies: “While you do have access to 8 CPU Cores, it does not necessarily mean you can burst and utilize all of the 8 CPU cores all of the time”

The funny thing is that I never did that. I am intentionally putting a threshold for my processes. Last time, I tried with a 50% threshold, and the processes got killed again.

I have again wrote a reply on the ticket, asking what the ‘fair share’ is, as a percentage. Will share the result here.

Avoid SupremeVPS unless you’re the kind of person that enjoys pulling their own teeth.

I submitted a ticket before I purchased the service asking about their refund policy and Mike, the “management”, assured me that they have a 48 hour money back guarantee. I ordered a 4gb SSD VPS and within an hour I knew it wasn’t going to work for me. I canceled the service and requested the refund. After multiple support tickets and assurances of “its in the queue for our person the handles refunds”, 30 days past and there was still no refund. I had to go through PayPal protection to get my refund because this company that “was born to set a new standard” stopped responding to my tickets. Hosts like this need to go go bankrupt in a hurry, unfortunately there is no shortage of scum to fill the gap.
