  1. Hello,

Thank you for this listing, we appreciate the opportunity.

As an update, this offer is also available in Maidenhead, UK since we emailed you, and has been added as an available location choice.

Maidenhead, UK – Pulsant DataCenter – Test IP: 78.157.192.2

Additionally we will have Iceland available as a NEW location option tomorrow ( Monday June 4th ), in the ThorDC datacenter, Test IP: 193.107.84.20 – however in Iceland due with increased bandwidth costs, we will offer 50% less bandwidth on all plans for those who choose the Iceland location.

That is correct, the datacenter is actually in Hafnarfjordur; which is about 10km south west of the center of Reykjavik, Iceland.

Should you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us.

I am the desginated onsite technician for our Los Angeles servers, and I visit the QuadraNet datacenter a few times a week, its a great facility and I know that a bunch of our clients from Asia are enjoying it due with QuadraNet’s excellent network especailly to Asia.

PR (PacificRack) was QuadraNet’s previous brand name, however they have renamed it to QuadraNet a while ago to allow room for expanding to other locations outside of the pacific.

With your approval, as I don’t want to violate any privacy policies here, I would like to publicly post a full screenshot of the ticket which shows timestamps along with our correspondences.

Your VPS was down as YOU were getting DDoS attacked. We shown full logs of your connections in your ticket at VMPort. Yet you called our support line numerous amount of times and went on URPad live chat within 5 minutes of not receiving a response, don’t you feel that this is a little too much? Stick with one method of communication, don’t contact our other brands, etc if we don’t reply for 5 minutes…

Besides your ticket/issue you had has nothing to do with URPad which is what this LEB listing is, you are a VMPort customer which is completely separate.

I got one of their VPS on their last offer here on LEB and I definitely like it (using it as a production server actually).

One question though, is the New York location in a datacenter? I was wondering because I just google map-ed it (first time using it as a verb) and all it showed me was the Port Authority building.

Regardless, this is definitely worth it.

I purchased this lowendbox offer with urpad yesterday and found myself with a working box within 5 minutes. The box seems as advertised good bandwidth is available and generally I’m quite pleased. The only fly in the ointment is that the website refuses to log me in so I can’t access the control panel or serial console any more. I raised a ticket yesterday and no one came back to me. Managed to contact someone called Dylan on the website chat this morning who said he would look into it and I’ve heard nothing since and can’t contact anyone. I’m into the box on ssh but that’s all. No control panel for me. I’m hoping someone comes back to me with a fix but I’m wondering what the 24/7 30min response support claim is all about???
    Thanks,
    Frank.

    • Mr. Salter,

You submitted a ticket to support. you got a response in under 30 minutes, check the ticket yourself. In fact, you submitted the ticket at 19:47, you got a response at 19:51. That is under 3 minutes.

It was forwarded to them management department as you opened a ticket as a GUEST, from an UNREGISTERED email with us. We couldn’t identify you, as such support forwarded it to management for further approval.

Please submit ticket from your REGISTERED Email account with us, or log into the client area at https://billing.urpad.net/clientarea.php — its not our fault you submitted a ticket as a guest, from a non-registered email account with us, for all we know you was someone who was trying to impersonate “Frank Salter” which was why it was forwarded to management for further investigation to check IPs, logs, and give the account owner a phone call.

        Dear Kevin,
I now realise that the reason I couldn’t login was because of a typo in my registered email address. The typo must have been mine at the time of registration. I have managed to guess what I inadvertantly did and I have logged in successfully and changed the email address to what it should be. As regards your comments above as I was unable to log in at the time and – as you have stated – my ticket was from an unregistered address I was unable to pick up your response. Anyway the problem is now resolved and just for the record no offence was intended.
        Thanks,

“uses abusive words”? Which abusive words?

Tickets: 1.Sales:About Affiliate program 2.Sales:About my VPS not activated for 4-5 hours
3.Support: about VPS not activated – here I got canceled within minuttes.

So I had 2! TWO tickets about VPS and 2nd was just submit. And that’s after 10 hours of wait!

    • I assume that is a sales/billing request as you said its a registration process problem. Sales/billing is not 24×7 and is only handled during business hours (Mon-Fri 9-5 EST).

We guarantee a 30 minute response time for all technical support related inquiries as that is a 24×7 department, and yes it is taken very seriously.

      Please don’t make assumptions thanks!

    • Exactly how responsive box is?
How many cores? Core speed in mhz and bogomips. (cat /proc/cpuinfo)
      How does disk IO doing? (dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync)
(don’t forget to remove IO test file by “rm test” command)
And resources limits would help also: cat /proc/user_beancounters

This info, package name and node location would really help new clients like me.
I’ve ordered VPS in Luxembourg few hours ago, so I’ll get back with my details after it became active.

I don’t just look VPS responsive or not. I would test it well and post results here.

Looks like you afraid of the real tests at least on some locations.
I would recomment buying VPS from this kids URpad for tests only.

          June 15, 2012 @ 9:09 pm | Reply
        • Once again our benchmarks are posted above by real clients, we have nothing to hide. We give very good value for the money and we are working on adding SSD caching to all of our nodes to make Disk I/O even better.

Make all the assumptions you want, you were terminated because you sent in too many duplicate tickets in a short timespan and you used some very rude remarks that were considered as staff harassment.

Get over it, its only $5. LEB users are smart enough to know not to rely on comments from problematic customers like you, and they know that they have nothing to lose by trying out for a month for $5.

You have every penny of your $5.72 back so you can find a new host.

          Best,
          Kevin

A lot of other VPS hosts also host their SolusVM master with us. Less than 10% of our clients use our services for testing/dev purposes.

In respect to our privacy policy I will not be naming those clients however I’m sure most of you would of have heard of them before.

And you not reliable as manager, as you simply cancel on your own decision.

@Oleh– Maybe its because of the way you act, you are acting really childish on here. As I understand, you were already sent a full refund, so, just move on, and don’t make a scene about it. Now I see why Urpad didn’t want you as a customer.. maybe if you started treating people politely, they would do the same and you wouldn’t have been cancelled. I’ve found that is the best way to apporrach anyone you work with in life, I know if I were a service provider, and a customer being impolite, I would basically say ‘F-off’. I’m surprised Urpad even refunded you, the way you acted on here is already very childish, I dread to see what you told them in the tickets.

Also, I have a VPS with Urpad for a week, and I’m satisfied. I submitted a ticket asking if teamspeak is allowed on 18:48 and got a reply on 18:52 saying it is, so the support is good.

I’m like 10 years using different webhosting services. I know how to talk to support.
Attitude was ok until I was unexpectedly canceled.
So why I was wasting my time waiting for VPS?
Kevin Hillstrand canceled me because he saw I will not accept once a 24 hours support response.
Urpad has childish name, but they recommended them self great overall.
But failed to open VPS and canceled me.
Jonas, you know nothing about me. Why you think I was impolite to Urpad?
Support is 2nd important thing in this business right after stability.
I’m glad you fine with them, I did not get a support.
In the end I saw them as one of this one-two persons, having a day job, companies.
I want some few hours ADEQUATE response to my tickets. I have this with my current provider.
Not only this, I even have owner cell phone number, so I can call if heaven falls on earth.
So let’s talk how it goes with your VPS in a year.

Thank you for your order and welcome to URPad. It appears that we have ran out of IP’s in the location (Luxembourg) you ordered from.

We’ve allocated a new /24 IP block in Luxembourg and will bring new servers online in that location on Monday. Until then we’ve temporarily disabled stock for new orders in Luxembourg.

Picked the Quadranet Los Angeles option due to my geographical location as I’m in Orange County which is next to L.A. Running teamspeak3 (only 20-25ms latency), lighttpd with fastcgi(need to finish my fcgi c++ bins), postgresql servers, low load averages and only using 99Mb of ram out with the rest of the gig left which is pretty nifty. I’m feeling satisfied.

You were unable to get ahold of someone as your ticket is in the sales queue — sales won’t be open until 9 AM EST tomorrow. It is currently 11:58 PM on Wednesday. Support however is a 24×7 department, and you received a prompt response from one of our technicians already (in about 30 minutes from the time the ticket was sent).

However, I believe there is a misunderstanding. I have updated your ticket at this time with further details.

Payment done by 2checkout. Took an iceland VPS. Payment was easy.
VPS will be delivered with Debian 6. Other distro’s possible
After installing a desktop (sorry, i am not that unix nerd :)) it uses 400mb of memory (my other vps’s are using around 200mb with the same distro and installation) so whats wrong?
    Installing from repositories is SLOW!

I hope it will be better the next days…perhaps a small hickup in the connection.

It is getting weirder and weirder. 2checkout said that they didn’t cancelled it, but the seller did. So if you give a real review about the vps box and the results are not that good, he just cuts your line for no reason.

We don’t process refunds unless you explicitly request it, and 2Checkout only processes refunds if you fail their fraud checks.

I am sure there is a simple misunderstanding here. Put it this way, BigY. Why would we refund customers randomly for no reason, and lose money like that? We wouldn’t be in business if we did that to everyone, so it doesn’t make sense to us either.

I would love to investigate this. Please let me know your invoice ID so I can look up your account. Thanks!

New funny things about URPad :) Now they change reason just to suspend my vps there :) Here is new one:

“Hello, per our policies, we do not allow port scanning, in this case it appears they are coming out as “SYN_SENT” connections across multiple different ports.”

So who is crazy here? They don’t want to read what is “BOPM” :) LOL BOPM is small irc protector who scan only my users who try to connect on irc with proxy and gline (ban) them, to prevent abusive users who flood on server with join / part bots…They are more then funny :)

    Next:

“However, per our terms of service in which you agreed to prior signing up for our services, we do not allow any sort of applications that will cause interruption to other users on the same node”

I do not know what interrupt other users? Maybe my 25 irc users (20 of them are girls :) realy!) or me who use 2gb HDD 100mb of ram and about 150gb monthly bandwidth (with few process unrealircd, anope, bopm, neostats…)

It’s realy funny what this company do to users :) More funny is how they can be in bussines for more then 5 years, when they only try to find reason to put your vps down? :) Who knows, but ppl will know what you do…

BOPM is completely legit tool used for protection of IRC servers/networks from abusive users.

Kevin Hillstrand, it’s nearly impossible to find out which are those “some locations” where IRC is allowed. As example I asked here:

They havent reply to me either. They do it on purpose their money hungry.Sadly for them I review hosting service I spent 200$ for a month total of vps from different.I must say out of the 11vps I order this month. They will be rank 10 out 11 stay tune im getting around to few more vps sellers on lowend.I just think urpad isnt the wisest people we all know it isnt right to steal from customers.
I must say I was impress with the support for the first days.I do this test for hosts thats younger than 5 years.I would keep asking questions to see how they respond.Well one day sent me a ticket if I keep asking question they will suspend me.I im just trying to think who threat customers?Like I said I buy many vps to put on a list to help new people.READ but its only 75% of their fault.A cheap vps is just like a free shared host you never know what can happen.A vps under 20$ month isnt worth your time unless its a very popular host.Always search for reviews aswell.

@tinyray yes I believe I talked to kevin once that when I purchased the vps he was very helpful when I had problem purchasing the vps.But I belive Dylan is the worst their. He has an atitude not sure who is the owner.Once I ask for kevin Dylan wouldnt direct me to him.The support is 6 out of 10 that rate dont pass the borders with me.I just dont like hosts that get pissed and dont respond to clients thats not not legit I dont have time to waste money I wont let anyone waste their money thats why im posting bad comments.Im sure they might get better in the future every host does but I believe theiy have been out for 2 years and they havent got their support skills up sadly.Lol to be honest I didnt use the vps I had a test site up.I was going to give it out it was 2 months paid for.The test site move pretty quick. Also the bandwith problem it was increasing its funny know knew of the site but me and I only got on it once a week.

  52. Hello DracH-

Your posts here are nothing more than posts with the sole intent to tarnish our reputation, as you posted the exact same replies on WebHostingTalk.com. A monkey would even realize what you are doing. Chris and Kevin already explained the situtation on WebHostingTalk and we fully stand by our decision. We are not going to re-explain the situtation on here as its redundant.

It’s as simple as it gets: break our TOS, get suspended. Don’t make a show about it just because we were following our own policies by suspending you for violation of our terms of service.

We are not going to spend any further time nor resources on your situtation, you’ve been offered a refund and you know how to contact us by the appropriate means/channels to claim such accordingly.

I personally have used urpad and the support is pretty good.

      Response times were good.

Server IO was okay for budget I think I was on a RAID1 SW config so it was fine.

      Network uptime was good.

      And Price was very LEB.

      • Hello Jack-

        Thanks for your comment.

We did indeed have some nodes on a RAID1 config in the past, however have since moved to upgrade the majority of our nodes to hardware RAID10 configs (with LSI 9260 with BBU) and have ceased provisioning new servers on a RAID1 setup, but rather RAID10 as we understand disk IO is important.

And about refund, you speak here one thing, Chris other (we will not refund you), what will Kevin say about this? Can you guy make one stable story to tell? I think not…And tell me how to ask for refun, when you (i mean on URPad) delete my account from whmcs just like that? Maybe this is show for you, but it’s review of your company for me and other people here, on wht and other place. Ah yea we know, you delete user account from WHMCS when you get negative review. Thank you for posting this special promotion. I ordered about 2 weeks ago and its a nice VPS, always able to upload and download at 100Mbit lowest I have seen it go is about 90Mbit.

The only thing I hate about them is that they don’t offer ipv6 right now. I was told by Dennis it would be until later this year before ipv6 would even be an option. Other than this the speed is really good and support is professional and fast. For $6 I couldn’t ask for more tbh.

My current provider being tolerant to me. They provide current backups, even my client’s website is abusing (phishing) and DC brings whole server down for 2 hours to remove client’s account. This guys understand that thing happen one-two times a year, and I do. We both happy.

Hi there. I just bought a VPS from them and the package includes Kloxo but I see no Kloxo in my Control Panel. In fact, the IP address I received fails to connect, so does the SSH… My control panel is good for only reinstalling Linux and monitoring performance… and has absolutely nothing else.

I sent a support request 24 hours ago but have heard nothing back. Doing a search for Kloxo on their knowledgebase returns 0 hits…

So between getting no response from support, having 0 hits on the knowledge base and not finding the control panel to configure anything I am very curious how any of you have managed to get such great service from them and how so many of you have such praise to sing… This was, after all, why I looked at them in the first place… Cheap and with lots of praise…

Can anyone please direct me to where on their website they actually tell you where you get the things you are paying for? Cause honestly, right now I have a control panel (not Kloxo) that does absolutely nothing and I can’t even SSH into my VPS or (literally) do anything other than installing Linux and starting and stopping and rebooting the system…

I don’t mean to ask you guys for support, just a link to where I can get some support, please. Somewhere where I get more than 0 hits or a reply to an email.
    Thanks

If you want to use Kloxo control panel choose CentOS operating system (re-install os as John said above) and then follow those steps to install Kloxo: http://wiki.lxcenter.org/Kloxo+Installation+Guide
After succeful Kloxo installation and basic security setting as first thing I suggest you to set up DNS template (nameservers) before you start to creating user accounts.

Hey all. Thanks for the feedback

I don’t know what happened yesterday (since I STILL have not received a reply yet) but I sent in two more support requests tonight (2 different matters) and received my replies in a matter of minutes in both cases. Granted one was automated (and I just received it again 2 seconds ago) but still…

The first issue was that on their sales page they state that they offer a free website transfer service so I asked how I would go about asking for this service and I got my answer within 5 minutes: “You don’t. Your VPS in unmanaged so it’s not our problem” (basically) so that matter was resolved very quickly.

The other issue was why the Kloxo installation wasn’t included as per the package and why I didn’t get login details for that. The automated reply came back as “We’ll look into it” and just now, a few hours later, they replied with “You can’t have both Ubunto and Kloxo. Either have CentOs with Kloxo or Ubunto with Webmin”.

The software I wish to install only states official support for Ubuntu so I don’t have much of a choice in that regard, but Kloxo is the only Panel I’ve ever had any experience with so this is not an ideal situation but until I’ve tried Webmin I can’t say it is a bad situation…

All and all, not as smooth a setup as I would have liked but still not too bad either. They are now setting up Webmin for me and then I can finally get cracking with my first ever VPS :D

So all and all a good experience so far.

Pretty nice of them to setup Webmin for you as most LEBs are unmanaged..

Let me give you again my 7 cents, do not accuse anybody without knowing the fact.
When you don’t know, try to learn, google it or ask here politely, not accusing people this and that.
Reading your thread, you don’t know anything about vps, even what vps stands for, so please again don’t accuse anybody without knowing stuff, that’s all.

        • Jacco:

I still don’t understand what you are saying I am “accusing” them of ?!?
I am new to VPSs but not that stupid that I don’t know what it stands for!

I said their klowlegebase had 0 entries for Kloxo, which s still true today…
I said that I didn’t get a reply to my first email and it is now almost a week and I have STILL not received a reply to that email…
I said I was unable to log into my VPS via SSH and that was fixed by them giving me a new IP address (they said it was something to do with routing issues)

I am new to VPSs and I wanted to learn through this one. The package I bought included Kloxo. They offered it, I chose it, it was not installed. Fact! I was NOT able to login because it wasn’t installed! Only after further emailing did it become clear that the product on offer is incompatible with the configuration choice available on their order page. I made my selections, I paid for it and afterwards it becomes apparent “Oops. Sorry. That package doesn’t work with that OS”. It was an honest mistake but still a mistake on their end. They offered me the control panel, I didn’t get it. I asked them for it, they gave me 2 options. I picked one. Problem solved. How exactly is this an accusation? How is Googling “Why didn’t URPad install my Kloxo as per the product I bought?” going to help me “learn” anything?

So to recap on my first post:
It’s been nearly a week and I have still not had a reply to my first email.
The control panel I couldn’t log into WASN’T installed and turns out that even though they offered it, it is incompatible with the OS and CANNOT be installed so they had to give me an alternative one.
Their knowledge base still doesn’t have any information in it that could have helped me to sort any of this out on my own.

All of these are mere facts that back up why I had so much trouble to get started.

How exactly is Googling “Why don’t the reply to my email?” going to teach me anything about VPSs???
How is Googling “Why is their knowlegebank empty?” going to teach me how to log into a control panel they didn’t install?

I didn’t accuse them of being worthless assholes or a sh*tty company… I said their knowledge bank is empty and they didn’t reply to my email and this remains true today. I fail to see that this is an accusation that can be fixed through Google…

Now that they helped me get my account up and running and they finally started replying to my mails, so far I am very happy with them as my hosts… but that doesn’t change the fact that their knowlegebank (man i wish I could spell that word!!!) IS still of no use to me, it doesn’t change the fact that my email has been left unanswered for nearly a week now, it doesn’t change the fact that I couldn’t log in (as stated above) until after they assigned me a new IP, it doesn’t change the fact that the control panel I ordered with the package I paid for was not installed and that I had to contact them first before learning that the panel I ordered will not be available (ever!) and that I will have to pick a substitute panel or change the OS I selected… All of these remain as true as the day I said this and no amount of Googling is going to change a fact just because the fact is spoken by a n00b.

I still completely fail to see where I “accused” anyone of anything in my first post. Even now, reading it again, every line is still true and accurate. I am happy with them as my hosts and I have already recommended them to my friends. But as happy as I am with them now, everything I said initially was true and accurate. They fixed the issues, now everything is fine… So how in the world Google is going to install my control panel for me onto an incompatible OS on a location that does not have a publicly accessible IP… hell only you will know the answer to that miracle!

P.s. I know I sound insanely hostile in this post. it is not my intention, I just tend to come off that way most times. :)
Your point you were trying to make: “Learn for yourself before you accuse people of stuff” is a valid point and fact… but it is totally irrelevant in this instance.

          @Earl
Agreed. I found various other VPSs all over the place ranging in price from $2 to $100+ and what I found in most cases was that a control panel was more costly than than the VPS. $5 for the VPS plus $20 for cPanel / Managed Hosting. I noticed there are a few free control panels floating around and I figured I’d install one of those but looking at the installation instructions I noticed (for some) that I need to comman line install dependencies with dependencies of their own and verify all this and that packages are installed before I even begin… and my knowledge of Linux… lol… I wasn’t looking forward to that. finally it oiled down to URPad and [I forgot the name now]. Same price, same specs… perfect matchup…

Then I noticed they have this deal where they basically double the RAM and give you extra HDD space AAAAAND they offer you a choice of free Control Panels installed… Well, that last one was the last straw! Give em a control panel and I can get the rest figured out in time, but at least I can get up and running quickly! So yeah, the control panel was a very nice bonus for them to include! :D Kudos to them for that!

I’m sorry about the troubles you’ve been through with us. While technical support’s queue has remained staffed and provided prompt responses to our customers, admittedly the sales / billing queue was understaffed and lacking simply because of how fast our company has been growing.

I was recently hired by Chris to staff the sales and billing queue. Now that we have extra staff we strive to improve our response times.

If you would like to come back and give us another shot, please don’t hesitate to contact our sales department, reference this post and we’ll provide you with a free month

        Hi Nick,

Unfortunately, I don’t think I would ever consider URPad again. When a company has a poor handle on billing and customer service I get scared.

Appreciate your reply thought. Best of luck dealing with issues in the future with your expanded staff.

I never had any problem with UrPad, they’re always cordial and helpful.
when they made a mistake, they just said so and corrected it, I don’t understand the problem, maybe language barrior? judging by the tone of the thread. Ask them politely about your concern, don’t get emotional.

URPad have gone VERY quiet recently. I’ve had no complaints up until now, but when I enquired about a week ago as to why they were no longer offering UK VPS (I wanted to purchase another one) I received a holding email and not a peep since. It would seem I’m not alone. I’m now a little concerned that the company might be having problems, so mirroring my data elsewhere just in case.

          Hi Christopher,

After about 7/10 days (in fact, just after posting on here) I got a reply from sales saying that they’d freed up space in Maidenhead. Of course by the time I looked they’d gone, but appreciate the offer. My existing VPS is running fine but I had already taken out my new server with BHost. Only a tiny VPS for testing. I’ve no real complaints with URPad but getting your response turnarounds down would buoy confidence in your service.

Based on the comments here I would not purhcase a VPS from this company. Being suspended for ridiculous reasons, such as using legit tools, or seeking support. The staff seems extremely unprofessional (although it was entertaining to read). I have had one bad experience with a VPS company, I won’t mention them on here, but my suggestion is to go get a VPS from a provider such as BuyVM (my current provider), I was so happy with their support and service that I extended my contract for 2 years. No point stressing on companies that say “come at me bro” or refer you to urban dictionary.

    • Hello Wayne,

There is nothing ridiculous about violating our Terms of Service which the customer agreed to one signing up no matter the reason. The tools which were mentioned were port scanners which is against our TOS.

      Ref: http://www.urpad.net/terms-of-service.shtml
“Hacking, this includes, for example penetrating or attempting to access, without authorization, another computer or network. PORT SCANS, stealth scans, and fraudulent credit card “phishing” techniques are also prohibited.”

ANY violation against our TOS will result in service interruption of service no matter how minor the offense.

      Thanks,
      Chris.M

I got a VPS on the Luxembourg site. Amazing value for money, good overall performance and stable uptime. One thing I tested was installing a lxde desktop with VNC, running the opera browser and surfing around was very smooth. Thumbs up!

Package deal seems nice, although I missed the line in the Terms of Service where Minecraft servers can’t be run.

So I had a bunch of friends use it for a couple days, spending a lot of time on it. My service was suspended for broaching the Terms of Service. I get all of this.

I shopped around for a better host, not thinking that I wouldn’t be able to recover my data. However, when I went to get it back to move it elsewhere, I was told bluntly that no, my data cannot be recovered.

Seems like a good deal, but they really need to work on their service.

So you broke the terms of service automatically on purpose and demand a refund? Then you tell them they need better service for giving back your data?

      Seems legit ben, grow up.

I totally misread your point, ignore my previous message please.

        I meant to say:

So you broke the terms of service on purpose and then demanded your data to be given back? Then you have the audacity to tell them they need to work on there service? It just doesn’t add up imo.

    – Dallas, TX (Test IP: 198.12.71.130)
    – Los Angeles, CA (Test IP: 173.254.233.2)

    – Hafnarfjordur, Iceland (Test IP: 193.107.84.20)
    – Buffalo, NY (Test IP: 198.23.150.2)

How can we choose Lux or UK?
