    July 1, 2014 @ 11:21 pm | Reply
    • Hi,

We generally deny them as a rule of thumb due to people who don’t know to manage them and just stick a Minecraft server on it with 3GB RAM usage and don’t take notice of the CPU usage of it.

However if you don’t hit any thresholds for our monitoring you should be fine :-)

      Have a nice day!

    • Basil,

As said in the ticket and the dispute you made your VPS was suspended for sending out bound DDoS Attack via a script called “.IptabLes and .IptabLex”

      See the link below:
      http://askubuntu.com/questions/407457/help-my-server-has-been-hacked-iptables-and-iptablex-in-boot

When you get your server it comes with a premade MD5 password I have a good feeling you edited your password to something probably like “password”

      Is that correct?

Thanks for posting slander on a public blog when you’re at fault.

    2. Actualy, if all the answers are no, that is okay, i still can use the vps for my other sites. But his wonderful helpful single comment support makes me think otherwise. My ticket still has no answer from him, then I asked for refund. Well maybe tommorrow he will refund my payment. Check this one:

    1. If you do record IP’s for fraud what is the best way to start service,
    2. Which Locations will offer the IPv6 address

I recently decided to move from a host and selected VMBox. Seems a lot better than my current host, and set-up time was way quicker. I sent the order through and 2-3 minutes after it was activated. Those complaining should look at the invoice after paying. It mentions that it may take a while for the order to be processed by 2CC.

    Hi Steven

    Quick Question

In your TOS you say that you see CPU usage over 0.9 as grounds for account suspension.

Could you please elaborate how you calculate that 0.9? as I am very interested in your offer yet I may run processor intensive tasks from time to time as I want a VPS as a sandbox to test some of my development code.

I apologise if I am being a bit daft but I am quite new to this environment.

    July 10, 2014 @ 2:18 pm | Reply
    • If you’re new to the environment, I’d recommend anyone but this kid. Take a look at his history, you’ll see.
massive I/O issues (at least in LA) , causing major load, causing servers to be shut down automatically, even if the cpu usage is minimal.

Take a look at the beastnode offer, they seem to be new(ish), but performing well enough support + hardware wise. Not exactly the same specs, but close

Unfortunately I ordered this service and am already trying to get a refund within 24 hours of service.

After getting root rather quickly after payment — not instant, but within minutes — I began to reinstall ubuntu 14.04 and install Virtualmin using the installation script (https://www.virtualmin.com/download.html). Part way through the VPS is powered off and I receive an e-mail saying my VPS has been suspended (see below):

This is a notification that your service has now been suspended. The details of this suspension are below:

Product/Service: LEB 75GB Exclusive SSD Cached LA
    Domain: vmbox-la1.calcoasttech.com
    Amount: $6.50 USD
    Due Date: 10/08/2014
    Suspension Reason: cpu abuse

Please contact us as soon as possible to get your service reactivated.

    Kind Regards,

    VMBox.Co

This is the first time I have had a VPS suspended for “cpu abuse” — or really what it should be called: “cpu usage beyond what they want me to use”. I paid for certain resources, I was using them as intended. After some additional research on lowendbox I found out this is not the first time this has happened. I have asked for an immediate unsuspension of the VPS or an immediate VPS 2 hours ago. Still waiting for a response.

TL;DR I purchased the $7 LA VPS and am requesting a refund within 6 hours due to extremely restrictive and aggressive administration. Still waiting on the refund.

      July 13, 2014 @ 9:18 pm | Reply
      • Nilly:

Actually i submitted a ticket request after reading this as i didn’t want to get a suspension. According to support, although we have 4 cores, we are only allowed a average load of below 1.0 and burst to 4.0 only for short periods of time.

Correct me if i am wrong but should’t 4 cores allow a load around 3 and still not cause any resource problems for others?

        July 15, 2014 @ 1:03 am | Reply
        • You are correct. Theoretically, you should be going up to 3.9
I’m starting to see some major issues with these guys myself as well

          July 16, 2014 @ 3:03 am | Reply
          • These are fair share CPU, not dedicated cores. If you need dedicated cores, you need a dedicated server.

            July 18, 2014 @ 2:41 am | Reply
          • I’m with Steven on this. For the record I don’t know the guy, i’m only a paying customer of vmbox.co.

We pay a very low price for what we get. But you cannot expect that you can use it as a dedicated server. The server probably has 6 of 12 physical cores and is shared with 20 people (64 gigs of ram / 3 gb ram = 21 people).

I’ve been setting up my server with all kinds of ram caching in order to stay under the load. I’d rather have a fast server with 1 fast core then a crippled one with 4 cores overly abused and the feeling that ‘it should be faster with 4 cores’.

    • Unhappy Customer:

Going through exactly the same thing with two of my instances. No warning or any sort of notification, just woke up this morning and found that my instances were suspended for “CPU Abuse”. How can you offer a VM service with specific resource listed and then suspend them without warning for using approximately 25 to 50% of the CPU on average. Pathetic if you ask me. If your going to offer services and provide specific specs, users will expect that you can actually use these resources.

2+ hours now and no reply back to my Support Tickets, all I want is a refund and access to my data so I can import it into a “trusted” VM host that doesn’t shut things down for actually using them.

You get what you pay for. 4CPU which really you can’t use even half of, service suspension without warning, slow support response. I unfortunately have lost business because of this and continue to until I can export my DB.

      July 14, 2014 @ 3:41 pm | Reply
      • Unhappy Customer:

Correction, not 25-50% CPU on average, occasional spike to 25-50%. Average would have been around 10% if that. still waiting on support also 3+ hours now and no reply.

        July 14, 2014 @ 4:16 pm | Reply
      • Unhappy Customer:

So I finally got a reply to my support ticket 8 hours after issuing the first request and had my instance brought up with the simple statement of “Get your CPU under Control”. I requested the instance to be brought up for the simple reason to copy existing data to another provider.

I purchased 5 of these instances, ran 3 of them (2 of which were suspended) for 5 days minus the suspension time. The other 2 were ordered 4 days before my request for a refund and cancellation of all server instances. No refund was provided and a quick snappy response to my request was that they only give refunds for instances less then 3 days old.

Throughout this whole thing it appears that this is a one man show since all support, billing, and other requests were all answered by 1 person. Apparently someone that values a measly little $35 over Customer satisfaction.

I warn anyone interested in VMBox to take caution. I had my instances suspended and shutdown without any warning or notification. Basically woke up to find out that my sites were down and unavailable. Support requests were then created to have them brought up so I could retrieve data and it took 8 hours to have those requests answered. No budging on refunds for 2 servers that were a day over the “3 day refund” policy and not even used or touched all so he can pocket an extra $13 for them.

        BUYER BEWARE!

Yep, all in LA. I’ve since moved to a more Reputable VM hosting company and my CPUs load for the same setup are running at around 0.6 to 0.8 on average. Well below the VMBox servers I had. Better Processors in the new environment obviously.

            July 16, 2014 @ 12:53 pm | Reply
          • Yeah, it’s not the processor, and that’s what this kid doesn’t understand

Load is more than the actual processor itself. In this case, I/O is killing this server off. If you’ll look through this thread, you’ll see a ton of complaints about the very same thing on the very same node

You got the idea thought, move to a reputable service provider. Judging by this kid’s history, he won’t be around much longer.. BTW, who’d you move off to?

  32. fast setup, fast servers. can’t speak for much else yet.

I’m not sure what others are complaining about load issues for, my MySQL server frequently pegs at just under 1.0 load (it happens when you push 200qps constantly ;) ), and has been active for some time

Setup was fast and easy , not instant, but within 15 minutes of payment (expected with 2co), haven’t tried support yet, hopefully it’s better than some of the past ones I’ve used.

For the price, the servers are spot on, the only thing I’d work on is the LA node, however, like I said, haven’t tried support, as I typically manage my own and support my own servers.

    • A bit of a revision to this here.
These guys really have zero clue what they’re doing, unfortunately.
      Signed up on 7/13 – 6 servers
2/3 nodes appear to be doing well

Unfortunately, server in LAOVZ1 is so overloaded that I/O writes ran down to about 5m/s just a few minutes ago. Of course, this is going to cause major load issues. it doesn’t matter the software/scripts you’re running, or how much actual CPU it’s taking up, because low I/O means bad things for load.

Had server suspended prematurely last night for this very reason (load was high, because of this). After 5 HOURS, I got it unsuspended, and they refused to actually acknowledge the problem. In fact, their response was pretty typical and ridiculous.

“There is nothing wrong with the hardware.”
“You were using too much CPU than allowed. ”
No, actually, I wasn’t, and I can prove that.

It’s sad that people like this exist, and that are allowed to basically hold customer data hostage because THEY can’t do their jobs. Unless you like your server being down for hours, due to hardware issues, I’d strongly suggest staying away from these guys. JUST not worth the hassle.

    • Update #2:
When confronted with evidence of his own issues, here’s exactly what this guy said (I kid you not):
“Don’t have any logs but there’s a high chance that your IO usage for whatever you are running was creating your slow IO speeds.”

HAH, so, for a majority of the day, the code that has run smooth as silk on every other VPS I run it on is good to go, yet, the same exact operation is causing my own I/O failures? Yet, ironically, taking up less than 5% of CPU usage? Yeah, this kid knows nothing about the industry at all.

Looking at his history here, it was definitely a mistake to trust this with my data. Yes, judging by his knowledge and attitude, he’s definitely a child. Gotta love summer time

      July 16, 2014 @ 9:54 am | Reply
      • Your VPS was consistently showing high load averages so as per our policies was suspended, load average then dropped immediately to normal levels.

Regarding the ‘kid’ comment and calling us summer hosts, you’re completely wrong. I’m 26 and we’ve been in business under the VMBox name for over 2 years, 4 years in total before the name change.

We hate seeing unhappy customers, and take pride in our service. If you would like to talk privately, and hopefully make you satisfied with our service, please email me at steven@vmbox.co and i’ll try my best to change your mind about us.

        • You’re nothing more than a thief and a kid. You can go ahead and claim otherwise all you want, but actions speak 100% differently. ALL one has to do is look at your history here to see that.

As I’ve said all along, I can prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt that MY VPS had nothing to do with this. You have abusers in LA, and clearly you don’t know how to find them, that is a given. However, MY cpu usage has been < 100% since day 1, MY I/O is minimal, always has been for this specific server.

Learn how to administrate servers and handle issues properly.

          • I’ve offered you a refund numerous times so your point that i’m a thief is invalid, as is your point that i’m a kid, which i’m not. As i said, if you want to tell me your concerns directly i’m happy to listen.

  33. Setup took about half an hour after payment. I say fast enough, although after payment with Paypal it should technically be necessary. But half an hour is very acceptable.

I order a server in the Netherlands. Speed is excellent:

    CPU model : Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2620 v2 @ 2.10GHz
    Number of cores : 4
    CPU frequency : 2099.951 MHz
Total amount of ram : 3072 MB
Total amount of swap : 0 MB
    System uptime : 1 day, 5:31,

    I/O speed : 185 MB/s

The server occasionally hits a load above the 1.0. I certainly hope that if a process accidentally ´hangs´ and creates a load above the 0.9 that I get an e-mail with a warning instead of a shutdown VPS like B K did.

I do understand why VMBOX doesn’t want us to generate a high load on the server, but more information helps the customer to stay within the boundaries.

    July 14, 2014 @ 12:29 pm | Reply
    • From personal experience here:
These guys give no warnings, they just shut down.

They go by a load threshold . more than 0.9 * CPU (so in most cases 4) for an extended period of time (I was told an hour, but I’m sure it’s less) will cause the VPS to be just shut down.

They do NOT take into account I/O, so your server could be sitting at 0.3 CPU, with load of 10+, because of other users on the node and massive I/O issues (ask anyone in LA right now), and if you try to point it out, well, you get told that YOU are the problem, instead of professional (ie: ‘we will investigate this’) responses.

If you’re not in LA, you’re probably fine for now, but you’ll want to keep a close eye on benchmarks, as this kid overloads his servers like nobody’s business

        • “so you’re the one made my vm in L.A crawling and never loading.”
          Wrong
I was just as affected as you are. The reality is that overloading of that node caused the node to do what it is doing. Look at the reviews and complaints about LA. They’ve been coming in since far, far before I signed up. In fact, if you’ll look at my initial benchmark, you’ll see that even at that point I said it needed work (far before I actually did anything with it).

          The reality:
The LA node has been underperforming for a while.
IF my services were causing this, then I would have known, trust me ;) . I keep a very close eye on things, because I don’t want to end up causing problems.

For days upon days, my monitoring server (LA/Observium) was performing perfectly, nothing added, nothing taken away. Only during certain periods (when someone ELSE was causing major I/O issues) did my own VPS load down, and, even then , there’s nothing that can be done.

they suspended somebody, now the node load is 0.00, if this continues, they have right jerk caused this, if it goes up again, I will apologize to you here, we’ll see.

          • read through the thread. I know, it’s really, really complicated to do

This kid’s been suspending people left and right since this thread opened up, PLENTY of others. It doesn’t matter, because he can’t figure out WHO is actually causing the issue

If you look at historical usage during the day, there haven’t been issues. Nothing, nada, zilch. So, of course, things have been quiet. In fact, when I was forced out last night (nice jerk move, BTW), loads were nice and calm, despite everything still running full force.

I DO have proof that it wasn’t me doing anything here. From top to newrelic to glances (showing 0 I/O), you name it. Like I said, I guarantee you, I’m 1000% more sensitive to load and usage than you could imagine.

You go ahead thinking whatever you want though, it doesn’t make you right. PROOF makes you right, and that, I have, in spades.

  34. Well I ordered a VPS from them a few days ago, was gonna see how it went from their to now. Can’t say anything but its reliable, and fast. I contacted them regarding their policy for “load abuse” as people were just slapping MC servers on these because they are cheap and slowing down the node for other users on it. They responded that as long as the average load is below 0.9 I should have no issues with them. I put up a Game Server for a game I play with friends and we were doing things that use a lot of CPU and ram so I could watch the load average. I never went above 0.2 where as a similar VPS from another company I am using would average a load of 0.7 with similar specs. I am happy with this vps on their annual rate of $48USD/yr. Will probably stay a loyal customer for years to come if things stay as they are now.

Support. Well they don’t have around the clock staff constantly answering tickets, so their can be some wait time. I for one usually handle any issue I can handle on my end on my own so this is not a big deal for me. One ticket was answered in seconds and another 6 hours later which was quite bad, but it seems they try to answer them ASAP. I am not gonna really nark them for this as it only seems like its a small team.

My VPS was not instantly set-up for me. I actually had to contact them as it was suspended for some time after the payment was through and verified. They resent the activation email and everything has been fine since.

If you are one that wants a good vps for a really competitive price I would recommend this deal any day of the week as long as you have some understanding of what you are doing as their support can take some time to respond, but when they do, they do answer the question(s) on a timely manner.

My VPS is in the PHX node, and I would give them 4/5 stars as of right now. In the future when/if they can afford a few more people to handle tickets to make those that always use support for every issue they have I will give them a 5/5. They get a 5/5 in my personal book though :)

    July 14, 2014 @ 10:27 pm | Reply
    • Thanks for your review, as you said, we only have a small team and aim to answer tickets within around 4 hours. SSL requests are considered low priority and usually done all in one go at the end of the night.

All staff however have text/phone alerts from NodePing for down alerts and react immediately. We also have quick reaction monitoring from our provider SH and they monitor uptime for us and react if necessary.

Again, thanks for taking the time to write your comments and please don’t hesitate to contact us if you require assistance.

I would not recommend this company ever show up again in LEB. Their quality of service is below bad.

As many people here commented, they just shut down your server for ‘CPU Abuse’ without any prior warning whatsoever, and it’s not even a high load or close to DOS. Their IO is not what they promise, the servers are very unreliable. I purchased 1 year subscription (this was my mistake.. sigh) for LA node, and it’s been a couple of weeks but I’ve been too busy to take care of the server until I got an email out of nowhere that my server was brought down.

So, I tried to cancel the service and ask for refund, where they of course brought “3 day rule” on my face. I even said I’m willing to give up 2 months of my payment just to compensate their effort (which was near 0, but I was willing to give up) even though I’ve been on their service for 13 days before I decided that this company cannot do things that they tell people. This is a scam.

I am currently talking to their person through the ticket, but their attitude is basically ‘we already have your money. you can cancel the service all you want, and we don’t care what kinda crappy service you got, we aren’t going to refund you.’ This is really obnoxious. I think the company like this should just disappear.

I trusted this company and subscribed for 1 year, because Rashid (original poster) said it’s their second time showing up on LEB and I trust LEB.

Just look at sheer number of people who are having issues. This company needs to be blacklisted, imho.

I have a support ticket open which have not gotten an answer yet but I imagine they have much to do, and besides, I marked the ticket as low priority so this is expected.

Really happy about this so far. Will report back if I change my mind.

Hello – I am interested in selling my domain names:

    AmsterdamVPS.com (network solutions)
    AmsterdamVPS.net (go daddy)
    AmsterdamVPS.nl (go daddy)
    AmsterdamVPS.info (go daddy)

I can push the domains from Go Daddy to another Go Daddy account. We will have to complete a domain transfer for AmsterdamVPS.com. I am asking $500.00 firm for the domains.

FYI, I have recently priced LondonVPS.com and the seller is seeking 1-3K for the domain.

I believe the domains are valuable marketing assets. Use for company name, as landing pages to push traffic to your company site, or for affiliate marketing. Just having the rights to these domains is worth the investments, and the asset value they carry IS NOT depriciating, most certainly appreciating. The domains can likely be resold in the future at a higher price.

A great investment for anybody in wanting to market VPS hosting in Amsterdam.

  49. I totally am disheartened with the support being provided by VMBox, initially i took 4 servers then again 2 more, the kind of support we get is truly pathetic, we have to beg for services, the moment we order the server with WHM License we find the expired license installed, when we ask to correct after 24 hrs that gets corrected, today he has given heights of services that at night 1AM IST he has sent mail about abuse and just 2 hrs after that he disconnected server saying that we did not check, i have been in this business for over 15 yrs and once this has happened with Theplanet in 2003 and they paid the prices and componsensated by paying USD 1500 now second time happening with VMBox, i totally feel we are taking our business on risk working with VMBox.. I m still trying to connect him hoping that he would respond but all in vain…

  50. Sir,

It looks like we are working with vmbox.co who are like a child, who without any reason stopped my 4 VPS with them and they have blocked one VPS first about abuse complaint and to my suprise when i had seen all my other 3 VPS also were stopped, i have asked the reason which they just gave one line answer that you were given time but u didnt fix things.

I have given this VPS to my client and i was not intimated for the same, and abuse whenever the complaint comes the format of the thing is one VPS for which abuse has come it would be stopped not all.

Secondly, when a reply is given atleast from the backend like through other IP or anything we can go and fix the abuse issue which has not happened as these guys have just unplugged the VPS

I have lots of Legal data in that pertaining to Police Department, which i have requested them to atleast make it on so that we can take out our data for which i had to stay awake from night 1 AM to 5AM but they replied only one line at 2 AM that we have given you time to fix issue of 24 hrs for abuse u didnt do.

Is this a kind of support i expect from any professional company, i still request your kindness to please understand what you did is wrong, and if you think you did is right please give us the justification and please allow us things to fix, but here nothing like that is happening, a communication itself is a nightmare we cannot communicate with them at all.

His service was suspended for hosting phishing/fraud websites and ignoring the reports we forwarded to him. He became abusive to staff and charged back payments with his CC company so was terminated.

I am very disappointed with VMBox.co, I have paid for LEB 75GB Exclusive SSD Cached NL almost a month ago and since then i haven’t been able to use the service! The customer support is weak and unhelpful, I asked for simple help on get the server on track but they insisted on useless questions! If you are looking to lose your money and time then go ahead and order with them!

I am aware of this dispute. The customer filed a chargeback with his credit card company claiming to not have received service. We checked the transaction ID in WHMCS and suspended his account which was still active. Not sure exactly why he thought his account was deleted? Possibly forgot the email used? Either way no ticket or support was requested. Just straight to claiming we’re scammers :/

These scammers still talking empty. Still not refund my money! I sent evidence to my lawyer. Be prepared to court. We have contacts which you are working with data centers in Europe. You’re in big trouble.

    Future Customers,

I have made a purchase 2 days ago. from VMBOX.CO.

They refuse to issue me a new IP address since it was blacklisted and I request a refund. They did not oblige to the 3 day money back no question ask. I even told them they can charge me for the cpanel month licence and issue a refund for VPS they refuse. And most of the time VMBOX are very rude.

I really hope you read this listing before you make a purchase with them.

    ME:
You have a 3 day No question ask Policy.
    Please follow the policy.
Since I use the cpanel, Fair enough if you charge me for that.
But for the VPS, let me remind you your 3 day Policy.
    Thank you.

    VMBOX not honest
The amount of support you’ve requested has justified your whole year worth of payment already.
It’s self managed, this issue can be resolved by yourself.
The refund is down to our decision.
    Best Regards,
    Ben D.

      FYI to VMBOX:

You need to be patience with your customers.

If you assisted me me all the way, I will for sure get more VM’s from you.

There is nothing wrong with your VM’s only 1 bad IP I have.

Now that you have decided to assist me, the problem is solved with Google, Yahoo, local ISP. Hotmail and MSN is still working on the claim, which I will handle it myself after you assisted me with the form.

Thank you BEN!!! Wish your business all the best.

Do not take their hosting. Months later all is well. Then it’s bad, constantly disconnected for exceeding CPU. Although the load in attendance all sites decreased dramatically.
But what else is terrible, support is responsible for 6-8 hours.
On Skype no answer at all.
    ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
