LEA (LowEndAdmin) is the original founder of LowEndBox and the visionary who gave rise to an entire movement around minimalist, efficient hosting. In 2008, LEA launched LowEndBox with a simple but powerful idea: that it was possible to run meaningful applications, web servers, VPNs, mail servers, and more – on small, low-cost virtual machines with minimal resources.
At a time when most infrastructure discussions were dominated by high-end servers and enterprise platforms, LEA championed the opposite approach: lightweight Linux distros, self-managed servers, open source software, and thoughtful optimization. This philosophy gave birth to the term “Low End Box”, which would come to define a new genre of hosting tailored to developers, tinkerers, and budget-conscious users around the world.
Through LowEndBox and its companion forum, LowEndTalk, LEA built the foundation for what would become one of the most active and enduring communities in the hosting world, prioritizing knowledge-sharing, transparency, and accessibility.
After several years of nurturing the site and community, LEA stepped away from active involvement, passing the torch to a new generation of admins, contributors, and moderators. Today, LEA remains a respected figure in the LowEnd ecosystem, credited with launching a platform and philosophy that continues to influence thousands of infrastructure providers and users globally.
LowEndBox’s legacy, and its thriving community, is a direct result of LEA’s original vision.
LOL XD
“Yes. Linux VPS servers have never been cheaper.” O Really? Maybe in their own private universe ^_^
Just295 is well… $2.95 and reliable.
I always wanted my own universe :(
Sorry. Ready Player One only exists in book form. ;)
What? You expect that these providers actually read, remember and understand the marketing copy on their websites? I think by now we’ve proven a number of times that that isn’t going to happen.
Hi DrMike,
How much to upgrade to 100MBPS port?

Whats the status on P2P/Torrenting?
Hi,
As long as it is nothing illegal you are allowed to run anything you’d like
Thanks
Bad experience –
* control panel died
* Instances randomly stall
* password does not work for control panel
And worst of all, it seems they have very high latency for support tickets. 5 days since I lodged ticket regarding the password issue, and still no response.
Although we should not expect too much from such cheap service, a working control panel is at least.
Our average ticket response time is 15min. Please let me know your ticket # so we cab take a look
Regarding “control panel died” – sorry but that has never happened , are you confusing us with someone else ?

And https://control2.vpscheap.info:5656/ is still down.
I believe you want this offer:
http://www.lowendbox.com/blog/vpscheap-1-50-128mb-openvz-vps-in-scranton-or-phoenix/
We are not vpscheap.info
we are vpscheap.net
you are confusing providers here…
LOL!!!
Anyway, please help him xDDDDD
I’m very sorry for it. I appologize for this.
I picked up the 128 meg deal, and it was not quite enough for mysql/php/lighttp (at least not with my limited understanding of web server optimization, which is kind of why i started small) I upgraded to the 256 meg plan and after a couple days doing some research I was able to get a really awesome web-server configured.
The machine is responsive, the pings are great, overall best bang for the buck I have found.
Thanks.
