Based in OVH. Test IP of most likely.

I’m curious what kind of RAID they’re using in this. They mention having automated backups being pulled to a server in Germany, but given OVH only has boxes with dual 120GB drives, they’re going to have to fill the drives pretty good, past the usual 80% limit of SSD’s. I’ve not seen any reports to date of data loss on their nodes, but they’ve always offered only 5GB.

    our servers have 2x 300GB SSD (not 120G).
    We have a LVM strip configuration, without RAID but with mirroring in a NFS server.

      2/meg sec on my 6meg/sec UK line. Could be high traffic at peak times on my end but unlikely. (more than likely everyone hit the same url at the same time ;))

    How long did it take you guys to get your VPS to be up and running and and getting your VPS info?
    My past experiences with other company’s is that they give it instantly.

    • Hi, we do manual activations… to prevent hack-orders.
      If your account is validated, next orders will be automatic.

    @Spencer – I got finally mine, they will send you an email a few hours after you pay, it will make you reply to it to confirm you won’t be using the server for illegal purposes, once you reply to that a few hours later THEN your server will be up.

    I also got a server with them a few days ago. Initially it all look good, however today the servers have been unavailable for 4 hours and counting and there website is also not accessible. Also no notification or explanatory email during this 4 hour period. That’s just not serious. And we have no idea what’s going on and how much longer the downtime will last.

    • Well from my point of view, and probably any customer who is willing to understand if the service is usable or not, it doesn’t matter, regardless the number of “0” in the node names :) It would be nice to have some sort of official update here too.. Looking to http://pingdom.vpsdeploy.com/ the overall infrastructure doesn’t seem very healthy today.

        You must understand as i have been with OVH , They have really STUPID Abuse policy 99% of abuse report and your node will get put in “Rescue Mode” which is basically your disk mounted to /mnt you can’t do anything but delete stuff as its “network” dead.

        If this has happened to them you need to understand it will be a stressful time for the company as they will be worried about the downtime and there rep on forums.

        There site is online for myself currently i suggest logging a ticket and do what Lowendbox says”Do not use LowEndBox for support issues. Go to your hosting provider and issue a ticket there. Coming here saying “my VPS is down, what do I do?!” will only have your comments removed.”

        • Jack I’m not here asking what to do. Just reporting a situation, and AFAIK is what LowEndBox is for or at last what I use it for: understanding how providers perform in the real life.

          I don’t have anything important on that vps, just some hours of work. Hopefully it will be back soon to make a backup of it.

          Said this I completely understand that OVH may have a very reactive policy and that it’s surely not a good moment for VPSDeploy admins. Just please don’t patronize me :)

I would like to find any better/stable service because serveraxis.com don’t offer PayPal but require my Credit Card to apply. I like the dispute/refund term of PayPal. They seem fair to me so far ^.^

    I purchased a VPS from them several months ago. Not all was well but at least I was able to run my things on it when needed. Now not only all VPSs are down but the IP addresses of my VPS are now changed, even though the rDNS records for both addresses are still assigned to my domains. I issued a ticket and their response was totally unacceptable:


    we are sorry for the IP changement, it was needed, we can not provide more the old IP.
    Please, check if all is Ok now. Let me know for any issue.”

    I don’t know how much English they speak in Spain but that sure as hell is not satisfactory answer.

    I agree with Liza Mahmud, VPS Deploy should not be advertised any more here. Apparently they do not provide the services they advertise!

    I had a vps with them for about an year. Beside occasional reboots, the service was acceptable. Until three days ago. In the last 72h my vps was down (and still) for about 48h. So I’m forced to migrate my websites. My advice to newcomers is don’t make any order until all the issues are solved.
