The Founder at LowEndBox
The original owner of LowEndBox known as LowEndAdmin or LEA for short founded LowEndBox in 2008 and created the concept of hosting applications on low resource Low End Boxes. After creating the roots of the community that we know today, LEA stepped aside and allowed others to carry the torch forward.

Nice site! But why $7? I’d suggest to increase $7 to $15, so more good vps can be included.
@weakish — increasing the threshold to $15 would mean that *a lot* of VPS providers will get included, and many are offering 256MB+ memory for that amount per month, i.e. no where near “low end” in the VPS market.
$7 is also comparable to shared hosting, make it a great alternative to your typical shared hosts.
Yes, You’re right. $15 may not be low-end any more. But I still think $7 is a bit low. I guess $10 may be a good idea. A lot of shared hosting plans are offered at $9.xx per month
Towards this goal, I’ve begun compiling a review checklist. Simply registering with and launching YABS is not enough. I want to make sure I put the supplier through its paces by running it through a series of tests.
I’ve started creating a review checklist in order to achieve this goal. It is not sufficient to just launch and register with YABS. I want to make sure I put the provider through a number of tests to make sure it is up to par.
The LowEndBox community was founded in large part thanks to the efforts of LowEndAdmin. He founded the website and popularized the idea of hosting at a reasonable price. As additional users and hosting companies joined, the community expanded.
