These are either KVM or OpenVZ plans using Virtualizor. Servers located in Chicago IL, and all nodes are on 100Mbps. rDNS is provisioned instantly once the VPS has been set up. GarmanOnline has had a hard time earlier this year and it’s good to see them not giving up and keep the brand going.

Nice to see these guys still around. Keep it up!
Thanks! We’ll keep on keepin on!
Rest In Peace!
Typo?
kvm80 $3.13/month
kvm256 $3.13/month
Clicking the signup link shows $7.00/month for the kvm256 package.
Yeah kvm256 $7/mo — not sure if that was me or LEA :)
VPS is provisioned automatically upon payment, users can update their rDNS instantly via control panel. When I emailed this in I might have been confusing on some parts. Sorry! :(
It was me. Sorry.
Where is your ticket system, how do I send or open ticket?
garmanonline.zendesk.com
Holy CRAP! I can’t resist xD Signing up to test it. sleddog has been hosting his blog in one of these little boxes n_n
;) it seems KVM provisioning has hit some hiccups with the Virtualizor API but am sorting through them as they pop up. any KVM orders that are not provisioned right away will be ASAP… average time so far has been a few minutes after payment
2Checkout says they are processing my payment u_u
I will wait n_n. I want to meet Virtualizor :P
that’s on me, setting up now manually for you!
Just noticed… KVM prices are wrong :( That’s my fault I sent them in wrong.
kvm80 – $2.19
kvm128 – $3.50
Sorry LEA.. now were even :)
Fixed now. Was just amazed at how quickly the RSS scrapers picked up the changes and posted at their websites…
Ha thats what happens when you’ve got an awesome site ;)
OMG your website is an ultra tweaked wordpress? o_O
Bookmarking the plugin, is pretty cool. Just a little hiccup, in my services list, it says OpenVZ :P (before payment, I am paying now)
Ha yep ;) Which plugin did you bookmark?? There are a few of mine floating around in that site, only a few openly available. Fluency Admin is freely available and made it look cooler than plain Vanilla WP admin while more important things are developed.
Thanks for reporting the bug though, will get it fixed soon. The plugin driving the entire system is going to be published and available someday… no ETA yet. This plugin essentially is going to be a WHMCS for WP. Someday will be licensed and available for all :P
– VPS Hosting Manager, sell VPS… ties into API of Virtualizor (soon SolusVM too)
– Shared Hosting Manager, sell shared hosting… ties into cPanel and a custom panel I’m developing
– rDNS Manager, ties into rDNS APIs based on the service (pulls your IP’s you have straight from the services you have on your account
– SSL Manager, coming soon… order SSL certificates and provision them on the fly
– Billing Manager, Automatic provisioning requires billing of course. 2Checkout allows paying in your own currency — no fees for being forced to pay in USD
OMG all that is great!
Yes, I talked about fluency admin :P
I hope all these plans will be reality. IMHO WHM is very buggy and sometimes annoying xD
They will be reality, just a matter of getting the software mature enough for other users outside of me. WHMCS wasn’t good enough for me, HostBill was buggy, I wanted something that ran how I wanted it to… and now I’ve got it.
My VPS was deployed it seems.
Just another bug :P
Virtualizor says, GMT -6 is 4:28 PM, but GMT -6 is CST right? 10:28PM? I am right? Well, is an estetical detail may be.
Ha yeah looks like the times are a bit off ;) Not sure if that is node level or Virtualizor bug but I’ll find out!
Hi, pat, would you check my ticket?
Sure — I don’t see any open tickets currently. Feel free to email me directly with the ticket number.
support@garmanonline.com
I finally decided to give garmanonline a try, however, my dislike for 2Checkout grows with every payment I make with them. This time they have decided to stick my order in fraud review for whatever reason.
Funny thing is they say they haven’t charged me yet, even though they have already deducted the money from my Paypal account. I was going to order a second plan, but I’m going to hold off for now.
On a sidenote: Patrick, I saw on the backend that my order is marked as OpenVZ, even though I ordered KVM, is that normal?
Hi Matt
All payments are put into Fraud Review, not a select few but every payment is vetted ;) May be better to wait for that to come back as a pass to provision but you are provisioned when you pay not when you pass fraud.
That’s a bug: working on it now. Out of date function :(
Sorry about the delays in being provisioned. API went crazy on the OS for some reason… so it semi-provisioned you. Enough to not trigger the failed email to me but also not provision. You’ll be getting your email in a few with VPS details. Added in the failsafe checker into that function as well.
I though 2co is always like that (doing the fraud review first)? no worry they will return your money if you fail (happen to me once, due to ordered from behind vpn.. lol)
Yeah I like the fraud checks on EVERY transaction. and if you fail they are willing to work with you to get your payment to pass fraud checks. usually just a quick phone call works. I’m happy with it.
noticed most everyone who isn’t in the US is using the option to pay in their own currency. Hope it is saving people money ;)
That’s because 2CO defaults the currency drop-down based on your IP…
SHHH, let them feel special and smart for using the option :P
Hey Patrick, thanks a lot for getting me setup. I appreciate you taking the risk. :) I have never received that message from 2CO before, I guess it happens in the background but this was the first time I got the message.
That isn’t a problem with the OpenVZ bug, I was just curious. I hadn’t received the login information at that point, yet. I am currently checking out the box at the moment and I am really happy with it. This is the first time I’ve used Virtualizor, pretty cool backend. Thanks again for getting me setup so quick.
@ circus: Yeah, I have had other problems with 2CO before, but the fraud check hasn’t been one of them, lol. It seems like is something different every time I’ve used them. :)
Yeah I figured until it causes issues I’ll leave it setting up upon payment. You get online quicker that way :). Fraud checks usually are under 1hr anyways. Any payments you make you can check the status easily here… https://www.garmanonline.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=payments-history.php (shows pending fraud checks, fail, pass, and refunded.. depending on the status)
I’ve been really happy with Virtualizor. Outside of releasing 1.3 two months late which had the API and clustering it’s been great. API docs STILL haven’t been released so I stripped down their WHMCS module and rewrote it for my APIs.
Anyways.. glad your happy with it! If you want to order that second box the setup will be automatic. it didn’t break under my bug tests this time so you should be good to go.
OpenVZ bug is fixed. rDNS page bugs are fixed. todays been pretty buggy — but can’t find everything in private testing. anyone who finds issues please report them so I can fix them :) send over any feature requests too!
The 80MB wasn’t quite cutting it for me (I _was_ pushing it a bit :P ), switched up to the 128MB thanks to Patrick (cheers mate :) ). Early days, looking good though.
wget:

No problem! Hope the new specs work out better.
Yep, definitely much better, thanks again :D
Hey Patrick,
Thanks again, I just ordered a second box to test out. :)
Great! :)
matt — dunno what to do with you. Just saw your second box failed auto-setup too. I think the API’s just hate you. I don’t though and I got you straightened out :) sorry for the delay!
Lol, that’s okay, wasn’t a problem! I didn’t think I needed to open a ticket, I figured you would get it straightened for me. :D See, I told you I never had any luck with 2co. ;p Don’t worry, I’m sure the third time will be the charm.
Ha too bad it wasn’t 2CO’s fault — your payment went through fine ;) something about you, my API code, and Virtualizor didn’t jive. But just to be safe I’ve been manually verifying every orders provisioning and probably will for a while.
wow, nice specs for the price.
any chance to get tun/tap on these boxes? :)
KVM does not require TUN/TAP to be enabled for you because it is full hardware virtualization ;)
I guess he talk about the VZ plans
i was, indeed. only had openVZ vps’ so far.
$3 for a vpn would for sure be the cheapest i saw so far – but i guess %3.50 would too.
Yeah — my thoughts were that abusers aren’t going to bother with getting KVM for their abusive purposes. However anyone who actually legitimately uses TUN/TAP can just upgrade to KVM and setup anything they need. Not like it’s that much more expensive :P
He still owed me $$. He deleted information from his system when he migrated to new one.
If information it was deleted it was when mass emails were sent out and I was receiving threats in return from those who did not have service. “If you ever email me again I’ll ______ you” Mad Libs anyone?
I know some people are still mad and I am sorry for everything that happened. We’ve still got your information your account was just removed from WP is all.
Of course, he is still providing good VPS service for sure.
btw, i never use 2checkout before, so it is like paypal but we dont need to sign up for account? account is only for seller?
i remember last time i paid via 2checkout but i paid from my paypal account. this one seems to have visa option only.
*correction*
should not be “never” but i recall i used once. yeah, but i paid via paypal. i am somewhat confused with 2checkout now…what is it and what is it not…
2Checkout does not require buyers to have an account. You can pay by CC or PayPal. If you are being limited please contact us so we cdan look into this.
helpdesk@garmanonline.com or support@garmanonline.com
Are you sure? Because I can pay with paypal.
Oh, that happened one time to me. Just change the currency to USD n_n The paypal option will appear
Man am I ticked off! The 80MB KVM is now $2.19/month and I’m paying a whopping $3/month ???
I was just getting ready to write my 2-month stellar review of Garman Online, including the fast & consistent hardware performance, the superb network uptime, the way Virtualizor let me boot to a live CD to recover from my screw up, and the knowledgeable & friendly support… but now I’m not sure if I will….
Thanks Patrick :)
He should offer you a free VPS :)
Not free, but I’d be happy to update your price ;)
Check now! you now save $0.81/mo
I’m gonna put that in my Windex budget, so I can do a better job of keeping the window clean at http://baycam.ca/ (hosted at Garman Online of course!) Thanks again Patrick :)
wait.. what about me? hahaha :D
I can’t just go around giving everyone the absolute discounted price. If you have a plan which is available discounted then email here: helpdesk@garmanonline.com
:) I’ll get you sorted out.
Glad it worked out for you :) Every penny counts :)
Pretty strange panel…based on WordPress?
well,no aff…and i forget to type in the coupon!
not paid now…
Completely custom, running on top of WordPress.
You did get a promo, just clicked the wrong link. I updated it with the LEB promo.
Went ahead and signed up for one of these too. We can always use more redundant DNS hosts.
Working great so far! Thoroughly recommended.
Glad you like it :) An extra DNS host never hurts!
I bit, and now I’m hooked. I signed up for the 80MB OpenVZ VPS (I will be ordering a KVM VPS shortly for comparison testing) and it was provisioned very fast (not sure if it was instant or not but I’m at work right now so not to concerned). I am having an issue with the Arch Linux templates and opened a support ticket, 3 minutes later I had a reply from Patrick and was pleased with the response (not a copy and paste “we will look into it”).
No offense to Patrick but I wasn’t really expecting much from a provider charging less for VPSs than I spend on shared hosting but I was blown away by the initial impression they’ve made on me.
On top of the unbelievable price, their client area (WordPress) is nice and unique, albeit the word “professional” does not come to mind when I use it and Virtualizor is very simple and effective but has a “cheap” look to it. All of these would normally be warning signs but for $1.75 I was willing to risk it and so far I am glad I did (I almost cancelled my order when I saw I couldn’t use Paypal but 2CO allows for Paypal payments so I ventured on).
All in all, once the Arch Linux issue is resolved I foresee me investing more time and money into this VPS that I had just bought to play around with. My current VPSs, VMs, and colocated servers are probably getting a bit jealous now. :D
Oh KuJoe — no offense taken at all. To be honest most of the hosts I see on LEB I wouldn’t expect too much from simply from the website and price. You go to say GoDaddy and get shared hosting for $5-$10/mo… or get a VPS with more power for less?? No wonder Bob Parsons has enough money to go elephant hunting…
Also just being honest but the entire platform built on top of WordPress is not the most “professional” route. However it fits into the future plans better :) It will become more user friendly (I feel it is already pretty user friendly… just not pretty) as time goes on. It will also become more feature rich and clean looking. Once we are ready it will be released first to resellers who can use it to tie directly into our own systems. This will tie directly into the API being developed offering their own clients instant rDNS updates and instant provisioning. And some day along the line it will be available for anyone to use… unsure about free or licensed at this point. If it is licensed it will be <$10/mo and obviously more feature rich than it is now.
About 2Checkout… Probably should make it clear somewhere that you can opt for PayPal :) Keep in mind too if you add any extra credit to your account when you don't have a balance you automatically get a 15% bonus! So if you really wanted to, just pre-pay one month ahead of time every month and you get that much more of a discount on your VPS.
I think I'm done ranting now. ArchLinux is aggravating me :(
Didn’t really want to open a suport ticket for this since it’s not a priority, but I was just wondering do you have any info when will the Arch template be fixed?
Other then that, VPS is great, really good performace, keep up the good work :D
Arch is good to go! Arch away!
@KuJoe
I actually like the custom setup (wordpress-2co-zendesk).
custom setup == he have spent time to develop it (and knows what to do if shit happen) == unlikely to go away ;)
Oh yeah not going anywhere. I think by this time I’ve proved that to certain people haha.
If you use WordPress and Zendesk the integration is pretty simple but freely available. The three plugins below were children of this project. Branched them off and made them available.
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-zendesk/
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/2checkout-donate/
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/reset-all-user-passwords/
Any suggestions post them here!
https://garmanonline.zendesk.com/forums/331554-suggestions
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a very nice setup. I just don’t get the same warm fuzzies I get when I use other client areas like LiquidWeb’s system or any WHMCS install. :)
WHMCS is too “standard” … let’s go through LEB and count the number of WHMCS installs. Then see how much WHMCS makes off LEB providers. It bores me, HostBill is making an impact and works great — just a bit too buggy for my taste and I can’t fix it if something happens (closed source).
Like I said before — post suggestions. Only way software can get better is from user input. That’s why I’ve got a direct line into Virtualizor/Softaculous :) direct contact giving constant feedback. So if we need a feature and it is reasonable we can get it into development.
I personally like everything about the WordPress setup you have except for the fact that it’s WordPress (I’m just hesitant about using a blog script for my billing/personal information).
I also question why you use an external support desk provider (and a paid one at that)? Don’t get me wrong I like the layout and what-not but I would feel more comfortable as a client not being sent to another domain for support.
Of course all of these are my personal opinion and for the price can easily be overlooked but I’m just offering some feedback that would make a potential customer feel more comfortable when making a purchase on your site.
Zendesk is being used because of a few reasons.
A) Third party hosted. Stays online regardless of the status of servers.
B) Third party hosted ALSO means no way to go in and edit tickets — something that’s been thrown around at one point.
C) Zendesk is awesome :)
Also what personal data is saved, is stored as securely as WHMCS or HostBill. Security a huge concern during development so this will be kept in mind at all times.
Just to back up what Patrick says, while our servers are here with me in Charlotte, our support forums are in Texas and our billing and helpdesk setup is in New York.
It’s a big plus for us in case our datacenter goes down or if a client has a problem getting into their account. Neither one has the same domain as ours and both are accessible via IP address directly. (Can you tell the library blocks really bother me? I would hate to see someone else go through the same thing I do day after day.)
As to the WHMCS or HostBill bit, it’s interesting as has been noticed before how many providers just have a default setup on theirs that asks for ns servers. That’s one of the things that I look for when viewing a new provider. If they haven’t taken the time to deal with setting up WHMCS or HostBill correctly….
@drmike — good point about setting up WHMCS or HostBill correctly. Also I am wondering what kind of hosting companies are you running? Seems to be building your office in a local library…
I signed up without knowing tun/tap can’t be enabled on openvz, but I was fine with paying the $0.40 upgrade to KVM. There were some issues with the ordering system, but Patrick was very helpful and quick to reply. Everything seems to be running well now and I’d recommend them.
Glad your happy with the service Ben!
down again?
Mine is down too
everything is down…
I bet there’s a really, really, really compelling explanation, too.
Well that’s pish, everything down…
yes, garman is down…
As I’ve tried to point out before… the benefit of having support hosted by a third party.
Support issues can be sent here.
https://garmanonline.zendesk.com/home
And before they come and post it… no I am NOT running away with anyone’s money. Your services will be back up soon.
LOL everyone runs to post about the downtime xD
(OMG, I am posting too :| xDDDDDD )
Everything will get back soon.
who needs an uptime monitor when you’ve got LEB
Hahaha – So true.
Each LEBer(?) probably has several monitors on their VM haha.
I know I do :) and they should! Favorite is Uptime Robot.
All services restored.
What happened?
Networking issue of some sort? Hardware wasn’t reboot. Until a little while ago my VPS was still having an issue with DNS resolution. Seems fine now though so I guess Paddy got it all sorted :)
Missing payment issue of sort?
i want to be a reseller? where can i find it?
I’ve replied to your ticket.
Patrick, I’m just about out of patience trying to get a response from you. You owe me a refund for the one year dedicated server package that I purchased from you that you were only able to provide for one month. I’ve tried contacting you repeatedly over the last few months and had assumed you were under the radar, only to find that you’re still quite active here and appear to be ignoring me.
No more games, Patrick. When am I getting my money back?
not ignoring anybody, but I stopped going through my spam checking for real emails you may have ended up there. please email helpdesk@garmanonline.com
I had previously sent email to both your gmail account and your support@garmanonline account. I’ve forwarded the request to your helpdesk@garmanonline account now.
Seems to be a problem with the order link:
is what I saw when I went to the order link…
Upgrades being made :) if you would like to order please email helpdesk@garmanonline.com in the interim.
LiteSpeed, cPanel, and CloudLinux had a nice fight last night and that error is the remnants of it. Haven’t a clue why, but it is. I won btw. :) … well almost have.
Got myself a kvm80 yesterday. Hurricane PoP nearby for IPv6.
I am impressed with the speed of this little vserver.
Good support with reply in good time.
Not so great start for me, seems that my node (and maybe more) is down.
Working on it.
How much longer will it be before everything is back up?
Maybe he’s sleeping…
Sleep is over-rated. No concrete eta, just simply ASAP.
Forgot the :) after sleep is over-rated. Sooo…
:)
all node are down? include your home page?
Down over 24 hours now. ‘Bout time for an update Patrick?
What has happened is a very long time offline?
i checked all garman’s ip range has been down. maybe hardware problem or something. just wait and see. you all guys will get compensation for the SLA. i hope everything will be good for garmanonline and all client in the end.
Maybe a software problem ? Maybe an update Virtualizor went wrong ?
Garman probably working hard to get resolve the problem(s) and good to know everyone will get compenstated for the downtime.
You guys are wishing only good stuff.
what if he’s gone…
only I’m not…
Compensation WILL be made for downtime.
Working to get back online ASAP.
I won’t ever just “run” .. even if I was I don’t think I would waste my time with a bunch of $2 orders. Doesn’t really make it worth it does it? If I was going to run I probably would have when there was only one or two people who wasn’t trying to drag my name through the mud. I wouldn’t have accrued thousands of dollars worth of debt just making refunds to people. Common sense says if I was going to run I would have a LONG time ago, would have thought that had been proved by now.
What is the current issue?
For us poor Canadians it’s damn near impossible to run with your pockets full of toonies :)
Hoping to see some action soon….
Guess you always sell the customers/company to Rus/ThrustVPS or HostDime or someone else who is willing to pay $$ :)
If Patrick sells, I’m gone. I signed up just to do some testing not expecting much, but after speaking with Patrick I feel confident with his abilities and glad I signed up (with the intention of purchasing a few more VPSs in the future).
His personal site is offline too so I’m not to concerned with him running off, if his site was online while GarmanOnline was offline then I would start to worry.
Don’t need compensation, just make it work!
this is not one of your project, is it?
Did you pay your bills Patrick?
This guy is officially gone, ran, hiding under the radar.
Even his garmanonline.com is off now.
Reincarnation of RackVm.!!!
You’re kinda late to the party. All services, including garmanonline.com, went down on Friday. FWIW, I’d say everything will come up at some point tomorrow (Monday). But the complete lack of communications (for clients, not here) is for me the worst thing. C’est la vie, move on.
will come up Monday?
How do you know?
Are you a disguised Pat?
sleddog is a recognized member here. You must read more.
He does a good job sharing us some of his scripts and tools for vps managing.
He also is a garman customer, if you can take some time to read his blog.
I was only speculating… guessing!
I don’t know anything more than what’s been posted here.
so, he’s a recognized good member, good job sharing scripts as well as having an account with garman,
so he knows the server will be up Monday? I am not attacking his credentials, how does he know when he is not Garman?
Yep, maybe, if he know their mail, he can post under his name. But IMHO is little probably.
Only LEA can check the IP addresses to see if match. But, isn’t needed.
And about coming up this monday, well, I don’t know if sleddog has received some news from Patrick. You can send him a mail or submit a ticket here https://garmanonline.zendesk.com/
Its probably a guess. Singlehop running on weekend shifts = less time, costs more. Tomorrow, Monday = full staff, lower costs.
Today I received a refund, for the full amount I payed.
I don’t know what happened, but he did honor my request to pay me back.
tHAT SPEA
That speaks good of Patrick, but anyway I think everybody needs an explanation…
@SwordfishBE: Glad you got your money back. Hope everyone who paid months up front got the same.
I’m unsubscribing from this thread now. Don’t want to hear any more about “PG” or “GO”. And no, I’m not gonna buy a WordPress blog from him ;)
I sort of recognize “sleddog” from way back — I knew him from VPSLink forum a few years ago (was a customer there until they were sold). He is *definitely* not Patrick.
That said, the lack of communication is indeed worrying.
Now I’m officially worried :-)
No replies to tickets. No updates. No servers online.
I’m waiting one more day before I ask for a refund via paypal dispute.
lol swordfish. How much do you paid to garmanonline?
In my case were 2 USD :P
Actually I paid for a longer period, got myself a nice discount for it.
yup, let’s not speculate.
Hope it comes back Monday as everybody ‘Wish’ here… :)
So my speculation about a Monday return seems to be wrong. For me it’s Hello VMWare (Goodbye Garman).
Q_Q
I wrote at your post :P
Also, I am on a migraton from ubiquity SJC with enscloud n_n Maybe they can put me in your node and I will slam it xD
Get off of my cloud :)
I upgraded from OpenVZ to KVM and paid for the next month in advance for the discount. I’m still not giving up though, gotta have faith. ;)
what faith?
He’s gone and laughing at you all.
Monday…..will be up….Eat your heart out.
Keep up the good work Mr. Negative Nancy.

Bad bad, this is the second or third time that he dissappear and have problems.
I’ve contacted Singlehop in hopes to get some information about the status of the servers (paid? cancelled? broke? etc…).
Good idea.
so any reply from singlehop?
They said they can’t tell me anything due to privacy laws. I knew they wouldn’t be able to give me specifics but I was hoping for something about possible issues with their servers or a hint to start processing a chargeback or something like that. :(
Mine is also down :(
I guess all that remains to be done is the obituary.
http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1041564
I find it interesting that the community hasn’t taken more interest. If this would have been another provider we would have been sharpening the pitchforks and passing out the torches.
I had gotten two VPS from Patrick when he ran his last offer.
Because usually other providers flags have been raised before hand that they are less than honest.
With Patrick, he’s a recognizable member of this community. I think and hope many of us are giving him the benefit of the doubt. Also looks a few comments up as he recently made an appearance. If he was cutting and running, I don’t think he would have done that. He would have been gone.
I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt. Gotta admit though I think he’s down for good but I would like to see what he has to say about the problem.
A perfect example: We’re still waiting to hear why (I forgot who it was) erased all those VPSes a couple of weeks ago. They haven’t owned up to why it occurred, just that it did and it took them a few days to do so. I’d rather those folks get the sharpened end of the pitchfork then these folks. At least there’s communication here to some extend. There isn’t with that other provider.
Maybe he found some hot blond. I know when Angie and I got together, we basically disappeared for about 3 weeks. :D
Hot blond, or hit by a bus.
Though I’m pissed I hope it’s a hot blond :)
I like red heads myself. Especially ones with glasses.
Of course it took about 6 months (and her telling me) that she died her hair.
*sigh* Women. The ones who put all the mystery into life.
Or a new born in the family. That took almost 3 months out of me. Twice.
Yes he replied 4 days ago, but it was when the issue first occurred. I hope he hasn’t given up yet.
He’s certainly a smooth talker — look at his “I won’t ever just ‘run'” post above. I don’t understand what motivates some people to be so blatantly dishonest.
I believe this is the second time he’s done this. Hopefully the last here at LEB….
How do you know he’s being dishonest? How do you know he’s actually taken a runner?
Please kindly remember who’s writing this comment. It’s little old me. I’m the one who dislikes dishonestly, providers who can’t spell “Unlimited”, those who can’t even be bothered to set up WCHMS (or whatever the heck it’s called) correctly, can’t be bothered to set up a SSL cert, can;t be bothered to… and I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt.
Yes, his stuff went down last time and yes he came back. That’s the main reason why I;m giving him the chance to fix what’s wrong.
And if he does run, then he runs and we all know better next time.
For some reason, people seem to really like Pat, despite his track record of shafting customers at every opportunity, the endless extended outages without explanation, et cetera.
I have to give him credit – he persevered (perseveres?) where better men would give/would have given up. I will not at all be sad to see him depart the hosting industry, when that inevitability arises (if it hasn’t already), but I must admit that I’ve kind of enjoyed the whole endless “Garman Online is gone again” thing, much in the vein of “Oh my God, they killed Kenny”.
To be completely honest, watching Pat fail and fail again has been far more enjoyable than the service he provided me, intermittently, when he could be bothered to pay the bills, for eight months or so.
Pat, if you’re reading this, you’re clearly a charismatic and likeable guy who is horrible at finances and running a business. I think your talents, such as they are, are wasted in the hosting industry; there’s still time to form a messianic cult ahead of the 2012 EOTWAWKI and bilk a lot of customers^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^Hvictims out of their life savings, before disappearing with your fiancee to some place warm that doesn’t have an extradition treaty with the United States…
Could have sworn it was only once. If it was more than once, would someone please provide references? Thanks.
@drmike — see this and this on LowEndTalk.
LOL EOTWAWKI!
First time I read the term xD
Well, for me this is done… Anyway, I will follow the status to see if this company will work again.
Found some additional contact information for him and his “partner”, thanks to Afraid.org. Looks like his partner jumped DNS after his servers went down.

I don’t know why you put “partner” in scare quotes – Cassie Hall is Pat’s fiancee.
That being said, I think her switching to another provider for her business website on Sunday is a pretty good sign that Garman Online is no more.
I put partner is quotes because I didn’t know her relation to him other than they share the same address and both have an @garmanonline.com e-mail address.
Honestly, I am not upset that the service went down. I only spent $4.95 total, and mainly because I wanted to try KVM. I usually monitor new servers for a while before putting anything on them, so they were empty at the time they went down.
Patrick’s track record, as LEA pointed out is the main reason I hadn’t tried him sooner. Guru status will get you a long way, but four days is far too long though, you can’t put anything useful on a service I like that. I would still appreciate a status update.
@drmike: I think that you’re referring to BurstNet, they recently nuked their client’s VPSs in their UK DC. I usually receive some sort of notification for them when there is a problem in one of their DCs.
Looks like one of Patrick’s sites (hosted with Singlehop) is still online: WordPressHost.org
Maybe this is a good sign since it appears Singlehop didn’t drop him as a client (i.e. he’s paying his bills which is the most common reason for hosts to go under).
The IP address of WordPressHost.org is owned by Amazon EC2?
Free Amazon cloud services for a year, remember? :)
WHOIS shows Singlehop. Weird.
LEA is right -> http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=EJzrpYvY
Something wrong with your whois?
I’m using DomainTools and they are rarely wrong, sorry for the confusion.
http://whois.domaintools.com/wordpresshost.org
dt isn’t “wrong” per se, they just cache a ton of stuff for *long time* to prevent relookups

My VPS also down starting from 21 April 2011 02:55 AM GMT +7
My IP address : 184.154.62.xxx
Where are you Patrick?
Finally… Today I got a refund from PayPal (2Checkout.com) US$18.00
I’ll give him a few more days and then say bye forever.
Any news about Patrick?
Today my VPS is up, UPP!!!!! Also his website is working again :P
Hmmm, my container was UP all the time. It seems this and the last hiccup were networking problems.
Nevermind, is down again xD
I will send him a mail.
fucking garmanshit.. i’m waste my 2.19$, and lost data! stfu
Waassssaaaaaaaap niggaaaaaaaaa! LOL
Backups… backups…
Well, I don’t think you’re sorry for the 2$, but sure it’s an issue if you lost data! For me, I didn’t lose any data but I lost 50 bucks since I paid last autumn for a year!
I also did pay for a year, but I contacted him, after I filled a dispute with paypal, and he honored the request and payed me back.
Priceless comment! hahah
Please see my garmanonline refugee offer here http://www.lowendbox.com/blog/thehosthouse-2-97-256mb-kvm-vps-in-uk/#comment-29786
Sweet
So when does the next batch of garman deals get posted?
Find Doc Brown, go back to the future, back when Garminonline wasn’t a dead pool candidate :)
Just saw that http://www.garmanonline.com came back “online”. However, extracted from the website:
Still no explanation on the series of unfortunate events. It’s good that Patrick is doing the refunds, and all the best with his other business. But I guess that’s the end of GarmanOnline offers here.
RIP GarmanOnline
My previous offer of help for Garmanonline clients still stands. If you are looking to replace your VPS then take a look at my garmanonline refugee offer here http://www.lowendbox.com/blog/thehosthouse-2-97-256mb-kvm-vps-in-uk/#comment-29786
Well, so much for giving them the benefit of the doubt.
farewell patrick. :) i lost KVM partner now.. hope we’ll get more KVM offer in the future.
I wish Patrick did not show up here anymore.
I can think of a dozen folks and providers that I wish the same. At least Patrick put forth an effort. Better than some we have here.
Some, maybe, the majority, not. I can’t think of another provider on here that pulled a runner in less than two weeks.
Yeah, a good man… BUT, I think still the clients (at least) and maybe we too, need an explanation.
Yes indeed, specially because he accepted me as a new client, one day before his servers went down. He must have know something or just keeping up appearances? I did receive my money back, however I also would like to know what happened.
@SwordfishBE, Probably because he failed to gather enough customers and that failed dedicated offer thingie just make it worse for him.
I don’t think that he has enough equity or able to raise enough equity to handle his business.
He could not even refund earlier not provided server offer to a few people. So, I was wondering how he could manage another kvm offer.
He got good intention at least.
He also has his side job.
for me, Patrick, he is a nice guy… but he should give us more logic explanation about what happened to all VPS server…
Nice guy my ass, he’s a jerk.
Yeah, your ass is a good boy xD
He would be great for selling donkeysh*t as a cure for cancer.
He is very good in selling his products. I think he is a nice guy. but doesn’t know a thing about running a business.
I do wish him good luck. How does that expression go, third time’s the charm?
Haha, you remembered me 2 phrases commonly used here in Mexico :P It seems that they aren’t so original as we believed n_n
He refunded $1.75, will cover my french fries.
Mmmmmm, fries.
Me and my f’ing diet. :(
Garman dead!
— Haven’t read above so if you get upset because I don’t respond to any questions or comments you posted thats why.
All refunds should have been made, some refunds for those who paid a while back through PayPal ran into some issues in getting the refund made… will get it back ASAP. If you haven’t received your refund please send payment information to support@garmanonline.com so your refund can be arranged.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
This is a joke.
I could have lived with poor performance and with network speed not being as advertised. Having prepaid for the whole year upfront, I had no choice but to stay with him. After he went down I sent a email asking about ETA. I got no reply. On his homepage later he put that he’d be processing refunds. I’ve contacted him multiple times wanting to receive the refund for the unused service. Got no reply to neither one of sent mails.
This guy has SCAM SCAM SCAM written all over him.
I did get my refund
GarmanOnline and Patrick Garman, pmgarman, whatever is a HILARIOUS joke…this guy took my money, and I’d like it back. He abandoned a project three months in and gave me a blank WordPress template. He’s unreliable, incompetent, and obviously can’t finish a simple project. If anyone has any additional ways to contact him aside from the “telephone numbers” on his website, please let me know. He deserves to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I hope he uses the money he scams from customers to buy an actual cellphone, but that would force him to be reliable.
