Dominic from Vazapi emailed me a LowEndBox special. Looks like I am going to break my rules again by posting a yearly offer on a pretty new domain — although Vazapi is owned by Graxis/ServerMinds that has been around for a while. The price is at the very-low-end spot — $15/year. And here is the spec of their special “uVZ-0” package:
- 256MB guaranteed/512MB burstable memory
- 15GB storage
- 1000GB/month data transfer
- OpenVZ/SolusVM
Ordering link here. Servers are in either San Jose CA (test IP: 199.48.146.2) or Chicago (test IP: 64.79.100.38). IPv6 is available on request. Do note the extra terms for this plan — no email marketing and associated services, and no bittorrent. See previous posts on this provider, and Dominic’s explanation on previous projects.

As always, hhanks for posting our special however the Acceptable Use Policy update is applicable to all our services.
So the no email marketing and associated services and bittorent “rule” applies to all new services.
Test i.p please
ups, I missed and found it.
So is IPv6 in both locations? and is IRC allowed in both? I don’t see anything in the AUP against IRC.
Can someone elaborate on IPv6 support:
– how many addresses do you get?
– does it actually work fine?
– …especially in the SoftLayer DC?
– is rDNS settable?
Hello,
– You will receive a /64 which are 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 addresses
– That depends on the configuration off your VPS
– We are not located within a Softlayer DC
– Our Support Department can change RDNS on request
Sorry, must be a mistake, I noticed “nlayer” in the second IP trace, thought it’s them.
Can you answer first question please? This one from Joe Merit.
Those rules again LEB ;p
This one is k, I understand, I’m using Vazapi so it must be acceptable! :)
C’mon we all know that you used to work at Graxis.
So? :P Wasn’t that just over 12 months ago?
Well, there are many $15/Y VPS these days.
Most of them have various problems, just check threads on NordicVPS, AvailableVPS or HostRail.
So far only BuyVM succeeded at this price point.
I wonder if this one is going to be okay.
It must be!
“no less than four (4) days prior written notice”
What does written notice mean? Snail mail? Cancellation via clientarea? You should make this clear in the TOS before I can order. Answering here alone is not binding.
They’re site is down :O
Must be over-loaded with cheapasses :P
Nice one :P
The company we use for colocating our equipment in Chicago (Continuum) is experiencing packet loss, since our website is hosted within this datacenter our website is experiencing some downtime.
Looks like a DDOS, maybe Franc got mad at the new concurrent?
Franc who?
Yes, I’d like to know as well.
Francisco from Nigeria :)
I highly doubt Francisco would waste his time with this company :)
I thought Francisco was from Bulgaria <_<
@cd – of course he would! He would seize every server and burn to the ground every DC which offer 15$/year VPSes. The worst punishment would get those 15$/year VPS hosts without their own IP space!
@Aldryic – you’re wrong! Sometimes I wish that lowendbox “find” option would actually work properly to find you more proofs regarding this matter.
Aldryic, I thought Fran was the eldest son of one of the reigning crime families in Albania. You mean I’ve been paying him 25% of my income all this time and he’s just some two-bit Bulgarian punk? O.o
I have heard rumors of BR blood, as well <_<
IPv6 supported?
Yes, IPv6 is supported as stated in the offer above.
1. You said allow TUN/TAP on all VPS, but you have not mentioned PPTP, do you support PPTP on this $15/y vps plan then?
2. Does the cpu allowance of this $15/y is also equal share? or have some limit to the counts of cpu core or/and frequency?
Thank you.
just ordered one in san jose and can’t ping…

and how to select location? it appears no location options to select when order.
Does “associated services” when discussing emails equate to email notifications from sites such as forums and blogs? Just curious.
No it doesn’t the “associated services” was added to avoid people claiming they where not marketing anything but where still sending unsolicited e-mails.
Sorry for asking again but. But do you allow IRC in the San Jose location?
Asked support about this, there answer:
“It depends on the nature of the IRC, we allow IRC until they cause issues for our other clients and will then suspend the service as is outlined in our TOS and AUP.”
Hello,
Just got 1.
Very fast provisioning, I received the “VPS ready” before the Paypal one :)
Seems good, a few short lags as of now but no big problem.
I did the same tests than SwordfishBE, it is lower for bandwidth, better for IO, I have a 199.x IP so I may be in San Jose.
No SSL? :S
Well, I have ordered Q_Q
Also, SolusVM doesn’t have SSL u_u
Also, I can’t ping!!!
Network configuration is incomplete. If someone is in the sjc 01 node, and your VPS is working, can you share your /etc/network/interfaces (without ip of course if you care) or give me your default gateway? :P
No ticket response at this moment, the WHM bot scaled my ticket :P
@ Yomero
Just for curiosity sake : Have you purchased each and every lowend VPS listed on LEB? Guess its more like a Hobby to you :)
If you dont mind, can you tell us how many lowend VPSes do you own?
EACH and EVERYONE HAHAHA!
Nah, just the good offers :P
I have answered that before.
Currently… let me see 11 instances. Were more before :P But I decided to cancel some. And I will cancel more soon. But most of them are anual/quarter offers.
And yes, is like a hobby n_n (addiction, in some moment xD)
Well, if LEA keeps an award for the maximum number of lowend VPSes owned, I guess you will get the First Prize. I guess no one with a better VPS numbers score here :D
Yes, there are some people here with a lot more. I am in the 3rd place maybe xD
If you want SSL, then you need to set it up using your software of choice. It’s an unmanaged VPS…
I mean
SSL in the order page/client area
SSL in the SolusVM system
Oh yeah. That should be fixed, especially since SSL certificates go for free these days.
wow.., it beat another lowendbox top yearly plan :D, but i’m happy with those provider right now…
Order one.
Hope it wont be shown in deadpool next 12 month.
it appears you guys have already ordered are all in San Jose, but how to select Chicago? because it is instantly setup, and no location options to select when order.
Hi,
You can request this by opening a ticket after the VPS has been provisioned.
For some reason the SolusVM module doesn’t take the location into account when provisioning.
Can we trust Vazpi? 2 of Graxis budget VPS are in deadpool now :D
Dunno, I just did it u_u
And my VPS is null routed… is like, down.
Is it real?!? I mean DID they really form companies before that are DEAD CURRENTLY?
I loved this offer and LEB owner too! because of it, but now stepped back..
Yes, they are:
http://www.lowendbox.com/tag/buzzservers-com/
http://www.lowendbox.com/tag/zabogo-com/
Owned by Graxis
Not *really*, they were just migrated in to one in the past. Not really in ‘dead pool’, but brands killed off and merged in.
I miss the Graxis era </3
AHA, that is fine!
Didn’t see your reply btw.
Argh you guys don’t read my posts. I mentioned that Dominic explained it last time.
But this doesn’t clear their name?
Looks ok to me. They say they moved all the customers over to another company or brand in July and then closed the old brands down responsibly.
A few months later in September, they then mentioned the possibility of relaunching one of the brands, but then changed their mind or were busy with something else, and then the domain expired and got squatted and that killed the idea.
Well research on LEB here, show they had BuzzServers looks in 2009 and had Zabogo looks in 2010, both of currently not active (aka dead), but they seem to have other companies too. Details from LEB post:
http://www.lowendbox.com/blog/vazapi-4-99-256mb-openvz-vps/
MAYBE one can give them a chance? but out of stock currently btw.
I owned BuzzServers and sold it to Graxis then stuck with them, so I know most of that :)
Buzz became Zabogo and it all merged in to SharedLayer to keep it as one ‘hub’ and there were some domain ‘thieves’ creating an issue with a site relaunch.
Wow all this happened hehe. I scratch my head… too complicated :$
Ok looks I understood now , sorry too many names and companies for my CPU :p
Heh, no problem Mr Pentium 4. My name is Mr Dual Sex Core 5650.
LOLz :D
Thanks & have a nice se.. oppps I mean DAY :-)
We removed some pending orders which has not been paid yet, there are now 12 VPS available.
We will have more as soon as we handled all pending support issues related to IPv6 clients.
Any chance of being able to make a payment with a credit card versus just PayPal?
Hi my from thailand
Request timed out.

i don’t get any problem with ping test. we are in the same route right!?

What’s funny with Indonesia?
@Erawan Arif Nugroho: udah biarin aja. :)
translation on the bottom of screen. lol
my love Indonesia :D
Just found that the volume of the box is 10G not a number of 15G like above said.
What’s the matter? It’s misleading anyway.
just order one and also found the disk is 10G, but it show as 15G on their order page nand LEB…
There was a typo in the offer made by us, nonetheless we will honor the above offer and already upgraded all VPSs under this promo to 15GB diskspace.
If your VPS doesn’t show 15G yet, please open a support ticket!
Now HD is 15G then. Thank you.
Memory: 256 MB
Burst: 512 MB
Disk Space: 10 GB
Bandwidth: 1000 GB
I ordered one and it wasn’t instantly setup?!
Set up after 15 mins. Guess I should be patient
Haha, why you order too much VPS? Did you got one with BuyVM?
I get *four* with BuyVM, one with DirectSpace and one with Semoweb, two with Burst. I am doing some application development and during high traffic hour, there will a transfer of 4G/hour. So I have to use lots of VPS to do the load balancing.
4GB/hour @_@
Yes…It is somehow like a DDoS…Tonight (Beijing Time) the statistics tell that the peak is 4G/hour. I use all those VPS and one dedi server to accommodate that.
How to balance the traffic? These VPS are not in same place @_@
In LowEndTalk we have a discussion about DNS balancing.
Also, exists this module http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/mod_proxy_balancer.html
I use DNS balancing (polling).
How can you sync content between VPS(s)? :-s
I don’t really need to store any data. It’s an App for Sina Weibo (a Twitter copycat in China). So all I do is to verify the user via OAuth, get the data from Weibo API server do some analysis, generate result and erase all the data. If I really have to sync the data. I would buy lots of VPS from BuyVM and use some of them only as database server.
I’m finding the way to sync data (php files, mysql database) between my VPS(s), but it seems impossible :D
@BudgetVPS
you can try “Sersync project” .which use inotify+rsync.
I can’t paste url right here.
your can search my blog.
real-time-sync-with-sersync
If your App is large enough, you should consider get your own server and do a distributed construction. Otherwise, you may consider Amazon EC2, they will do the load balancing for you. What you need to do is too launch a larger instance.
Out of Stock:-)
Hello,
Just to confirm a few things told here, I asked them as a support ticket, here is the result :
– Chicago : You can ask them to move to Chicago instead of San Jose, they do it and, of course, the IP is changed.
– rDNS : SolusVM says to open a ticket, I did it and my rDNS is OK
– 10G instead of 15G : Opened a ticket, not answered yet
– Swap : No swap since order, however I dont stress it
Average ticket answer for my tickets : 15 minutes (7 hours ago)
I did the bandwidth & IO test again :
1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 83.8999 s, 12.8 MB/s
2011-04-21 16:08:21 (17.3 MB/s) – `100mb.test’ saved [104857600/104857600]
It is gone worse but still usable, I will check back in a few hours.
Have a nice day,
Mykeul
Hello,
Just to help if someone has the same problem than me.
On Debian 6.0 32bits (maybe 64bits too), if you (apt-get) install system tools, you will get a “loop error” between vzquota & bootlogd, it is very annoying.
Here is the solution, add the following lines between “#!/bin/sh” and “start () {” in the file /etc/init.d/vzquota :
### BEGIN INIT INFO
# Provides: vzquota
# Required-Start:
# Required-Stop:
# Should-Start: $local_fs $syslog
# Should-Stop: $local_fs $syslog
# Default-Start: 0 1 2 3 4 5 6
# Default-Stop:
# Short-Description: Fixed(?) vzquota init script
### END INIT INFO
And then run “apt-get install -f”, it will be solved.
Keep the vzquota file because it is rewritten at reboot, a ticket has been open.
Have a nice day,
Mykeul
You can create a file /etc/insserv/overrides/vzquota with the same lines.
This will also stop the errors, it shouldn’t be overwritten when you reboot.
WOW! I must try that solution! Seems more elegant than copying the file every reboot n_n
All tickets should have been handled now, if you experience issues with the performance off the VPS don’t hesitate to contact our Support Department.
Although the price is ridiculously low, we still want to provide a good service to clients :-)
> the price is ridiculously low
I hope that doesn’t mean you’re losing money offering this plan :)
On a related note – was that a short promo, or is a restock planned?
We are evaluating the promo, it was intended to become a default plan.
However the price of $15 is a short time promo as far as we decided right now.
Out of stock now, when do you intend to offer new stocks?
Hello,
Thanks for your answer, my tickets are mainly solved.
I was not complaining at all, my tickets were processed rapidly, the VPS is fine for the moment, I take attention to the fact it is the starting of the offer so tuning must be your main job currently.
Really, if you maintain this level of service, it is fine for me.
Your escalation robot (for support) is a good idea, and I was not counting the “Low” priority tickets because they are not urgent at all.
Keep the good work :) and thanks
Mykeul
Out of Stock again…
This is just $15/yr only on first year.
Because, while they have some biennially and triennially payment on other plans, but this uVz-0.
And the staff wouldn’t let me pay for 3yrs lol.
Fyi, he said that this one would be $50~$60/yr on the following year.
Really?
Who have said that $50-$60/yr on the following year?
If it’s true i won’t renew it the following year.
Please share your source when you tell things like that.
Bah, everybody will cancel in that case xD
Then we just move or stuff?
—
First Payment Amount: $15.00 USD
Recurring Amount: $15.00 USD
—
I would also want to know where you heard this.
Really??!!!!
Has any official one to state out what is it?
I’ve talked to a staff(I do not remember his name) on their live chat.
You guys can confirm it on their chat.
I would like to know who told you this, as there has not even been an evaluation of this promo let alone we have talked about raising prices after the first year.
I am quite not sure because I posted this one a week ago and the comment has been under a confirmation(?) from admin cause it was the first time i post sth on LEB.
As a customer, I was wondering why there wasn’t any biennially and triennially option for uVZ-0 while others such as uVZ-1,2,3 etc have them.
And then I went on the live chat. I was my fault that I haven’t recorded the log for it.
I guess Tom? Thomas? or sth T was in the staff’s name.
I was “David” on the live chat on April 21, so if there’s a chat log for every customer, please check it and let me know.
And I am very sad I didn’t take this promo cause of the person that gave me the info. :(
OH out of stock!
Hi Dominic. Will Vazapi restock this offer?
Hi Dominic!
What makes your servers eco-friendly?
So did anyone get Ipv6?
Not yet.
Too bad it isn’t Xen..
The VPS becomes slower :
Filled a ticket, hope this is just temporary
Mykeul
san jose:
1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 38.2923 s, 28.0 MB/s
It’s more then ok.
It’s so bad day to day? I still haven’t bought my slice due to fail CS, though the offer remains attractive, but with such poor I/O it’s worthless.
It’s about 1 week past, how about the IPv6 progress? anyone got IPv6?
No, according to support, they are slowly enabling it for every customer.
After this is done, they will prepare another node for more openvz containers.
I will give them some time, if ipv6 is not possible with them, just let them enable tun/tap and get a tunnel with hurricane.
thanks, I’ll be waiting :)
669319168 bytes (669 MB) copied, 345.781 seconds, 1.9 MB/s
Ouch!
I mailed support.
-They are going to do upgrades to the nodes.
-And about the IPv6. According to support, there are some routing issues with the IPv6 range they received.
-They admit that they are understaffed, just because they did not anticipate the success of there offers.
Just wait and see I guess?
Hopefully after these upgrades, things will be better.
Ha, so my question “does IPv6 actually work” was SPOT ON.
Not really, our initial IPv6 allocation is exhausted and IPs out of that allocation work and a bunch of clients are already using IPv6.
The issue is with our new allocation which is not working properly.
All pending issues in our San Jose location are going to be fixed today, Chicago will get its maintenance window later this week.
Err… you ran… out? How?
I hope you didn’t mind, me posting those updates.
This looks pretty bad. You helped me decide that I’m not going to sign up for Vazapi.
That are old news xD Currently is really better (at least mine)
Ok, ok, not the best, but is fluctuating, and is pretty usable for what I want (running some cronjobs to transfer files)
sorry for posting here .
i have 6 vps from them .. all vps are frequently down .. i think everyday.
Did you contact them with this problem?
My vps is up for 15 days now. No downtime. Just a high I/O sometimes.
Support reply’s beteen 30min and a few hours.
all vps down again during posting here .. very very unhappy :(
if i check in vps with ‘uptime’ , uptime is 11 days. but in vps panel , it’s down everyday. i can’t access to server during offline in vps manager.
there is 2 tickets that i open for that problem. and also screen shot.
@Win Htut,
Please check semoweb.com . It’s very good although the price is a little higher than this one. I can bet you will satisfy with semoweb.
thank bro, yea i already read some comments of semoweb. almost are positive. and i have mail them last afew weeks.. gonna get some vps from there :)
Umm! Why do you need a lot of vps? Most citizens from our country seem not so interested in VPS. 99% are going for shared hosting. Good Luck with Low End VPS.
I guess PPL frm MM use to with windows.
By the way, if you want to know which provider is good, asked “Yomero”.
He buys every vps offer :) and beat most of us in LEB.
thank you bro. im going to use semoweb’s vps.
LOL…
Well, I don’t buy every offer =( not wnough money xD
And semoweb is a good option =)
Im actually pretty satisfied with what I’m getting for this price.
The only down side is that ipv6 has yet to been made available to me.
Uptime is 15 days with some very short network drops.
Me too… The i7o started good, but sometimes is REALLY high. Now is almost regular, mayb they dropped some people from the node.
Yeah I noticed that too.
Any chance to keep up updated on the evaluation process of the promotion (and the price)?
Nice post. So, have any problem with VPS at Vazapi?
Looks like very good at the moment. I got 24 days uptime.
Same here.
However, native ipv6 isn’t working for me.
So I’m tunneling now. So I’m good!
I got something a bit different, server was down several time in my node recently.
anyone successfully using native ipv6 on vazapi yet?
yea all my vps are frequently down. ~ ~ vazapi are you down . down .. down .. down down ~ ~ :(
It’s down at this time for me. Support is only escalate bot lol. Is any vazapi team there looking into this issue for random downtime performance?
it’s my node ovz01sjo01. it’s down nowww .. we are on the same node ?
ovz01sjo01 – I am in this node to. Overselling?
i have 6 vps on that node :( . all are red now. help meeeeeeeeeeeeeee vazapiiiii
Still down, @win htut. Could you try to contact them via phone? I’m in Thailand and cannot reach them via phone.
oh so poor we are :(( im from myanmar
No problems here. I’m also on the San Jose node.
Maybe some kind of routing problem?
It’s server problem. I think you are in the same location but different node.
I’m on ovz01sjo01. Still down but dominic reply my ticket which this is in process to install new node and move some VPS’s to these new. But do not know ETA.
I’m on ovz01sjo01. But I checked again, the vps is making a very high load and is not accessible via ssh. It is responding to ping and the website on it, its loading.
It’s night in the US, so I don’t think they will be responding until at least 5 to 6 hours from now.
i got also mail from dominic like that.
they couldn’t make me impress :(
Back online for 1 day but the same down again now.
So ordering this one is not recommended?
Why not? It’s only $15/y, the specs are great for the price (although burstable RAM is 384MB now) and benchmarks are not that bad.
OMG really? The new orders get 384MB? =( Is sad xD
You get what you pay for.
And for $15 its OK!
Native ipv6 is finally working.
Ok, thank you.
no it’s $5/mo . so it’s what i get for $5/mo ? unstable services!!!
Uh, how do you conclude that it would be $5/mo? The plan clearly states $15 per year (‘$15 USD Annually’ in their WHMCS panel), which means $1.25/month.
Or is there something I didn’t spot?
Ok, so a quick review of Vazapi / ServerMinds, about 40 days after purchasing one of these VPSes. ipv6 support was – along with price and location of their network – main motivation.
– VPS was delivered OK, and functioned. No complaints, no ipv6.
– Requested IPv6, reverse DNS, and reverse DNS for ipv6 (for after it was activated) the same day.
– Reverse DNS was fixed the same day. Delay for v6 was announced.
– Vazapi started closing my tickets due to inactivity, but did not assign IP(s). I proceed to reopen.
– Almost 3 weeks later, Vazapi finally tells me IPv6 has been assigned. I get a single IP, no other information. IP does not work. I request more technical info. Giving me this takes 3 days.
– I configure the IP according to information received. This does not work again. I assume this is due to some container error or OS issue, so reinstall the VPS. This does not work; VPS is now down and won’t come up.
– I mail support again. They do not respond. I ask my money back. Multiple times.
– After almost 2 weeks, I get a response that v6 is working and configured, ‘in the event I want to try again’.
– I repeatedly request my money back, but Vazapi stops responding.
In short, Vazapi support has been horrible. They do not respond, seem overloaded, answer only part of the ticket when they do respond, and every cycle back and forth (answer/response) takes multiple days. If they queue up their own tickets for too long, they auto-close (after 72 hours). You do always get an instant message mentioning they’re busy though. Dealing with disgruntled customers is something they avoid altogether.
After about 5 days (since the last message, telling me v6 works), I still have no response. I’m fine with ‘you get what you paid for’. In Vazapi/ServerMind’s case, you don’t; but you do get the extra of no support, and your money gone if you complain. I would strongly advise anyone considering one of their services to avoid them, and to go somewhere else. In my case, I did; unfortunately I did lose me a year’s subscription fee. I hope this review does the same for Vazapi, as this is probably a more effective way of reaching them.
The website’s host is no longer responding. I have a feeling this VPS provider went under.
my vps is down .. but nobody respond my ticket :/
Someone in San Jose received a mail about a node transfer?
Reply from Dominic:
Hello,
IT seems uVZ-0 clients received the e-mail they shouldn’t have, the uVZ-0 clients will remain with ServerMinds for now.
Kind regards,
Dominic Hakke
Vazapi
yea i got node transfer abd are they working with netrouting.
So, you got your “new VPS details”? I’m still waiting some news, because if tomorrow I don’t get anything, I guess I will need to backup.
And anyway, is their responsability to clone our containers to the new nodes ¬_¬
of course, but they are so silent sometime.
Damn, I still don’t have my “new details”.
It seems that I will get shutdown without notice :| Submitted a ticket already
I am in the sjc01 node btw, and you?
ovz01sjo01
Just to clarify things, at this time only clients that do not have a uVZ-0 package are transfered to Netrouting.
Clients with a uVZ-0 package remain on the San Jose nodes under the control of Vazapi as we have entered into a commitment with those clients for 12 months and they where not part of the VPS Hosting services take over by Netrouting.
I would like to stress that Lowendbox or any other forum media or the like is not a support medium for Vazapi and if you have questions or concerns you would have to open a ticket with our staff!
