LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

PacificRack Returns with Another Offer! (1GB for $1/mo on Annual Contract in Los Angeles)

PacificRack has returned with another outstanding offer based!  We’ve featured them before, and they are a sub-brand of Quadranet, familiar name in the LowEndBox community.  Quadranet itself is big time, based in the famous One Wilshire Building (aka “the world’s most connected building”).

This offer is in LA, and looks pretty nice: KVM on Virtualizor riding on E5-2620 v2 or v4 with SSD RAID 10, coming in at 1GB of RAM per dollar per month.  That’s on an annual contract but some of the bigger offerings go down to quarterly.  For those prices, you’re not risking much and you’re with a well-known provider, so buy with confidence.

In their own words:

“PacificRack is a sub-brand of QuadraNet, all our business are managed under QuadraNet. QuadraNet was originally formed in 2001 as a telecommunications provider in Los Angeles and the surrounding areas. As our client base grew, we adapted to the evolving industries and expanded our service offerings over time to encompass a larger variety of Internet-based products and services.”

Their WHOIS is public, they are a registered company in the USA, their legal docs can be found here, and they accept credit cards, PayPal, and Alipay.

Update: Purchased this 8G plan quarterly for a test. The I/O is deliberately limited to 90mb/s. Doesn’t feel like a SSD at all. The performance is not as good as expected. I’m not sure how bad it can go after this 192G Ram E5-2650 v2 node is filled up with small VPS. Will do another test after 2 months before conclusion.

Yes, Network, CPU and Disk are shared.
PacificRack provided VPS without these limitation, the result as other comment mentioned, most Nodes crashed.
We’re new team here and did these limitation based on our experience. Stable is the most important in our new sales.

    September 4, 2020 @ 1:01 am | Reply
    • Just tried it and I didn’t get an out of stock error in WHMCS (though I didn’t go all the way through with the purchase). I verified all links are those submitted by PacificRack.

thanks, i actually tried 30mins after you posted it. they took down all offers for some changes, like doubled bandwidth and changed all 100M to 200M network.

        • PacificRack:

          We’ve changed that before.
And our tech recently increased I/O to all plan.
A reboot will apply the change :D

avoid this company,,poor server performance and often have hardware failure. Just read on the hostloc, many of us chinese users have filed paypal dispute. it is said quadranet will be selling and dumping the company soon.

    • PacificRack had a hard time in the past and the brand nearly destroyed by abusers. That’s why we do limitations and use new construct on new sales.
We have a new management team now and tring to fix products sold before. However there are many users, it will take some time to settle.
Rumors about QuadraNet are not true. PacificRack is an independent department in the company, did not related to other brands.
Thank you for all the consults!

Sorry my friend, currently we do not provide Windows VPS.
Windows will need licenses and it will not be the price.
Also we do not have a good way to package Windows template yet.

I raised a ticket regarding incredibly slow performance, either related to CPU or disk I/O.

I was asked for my root password to assist with troubleshooting!

I don’t think there’ will be a renewal on this one.

    NOT RECOMMENDED by all means.
They are not responding to the support tickets.
They have lots of problems with their payment gateways.

I do not recommend the service. At the time, at the time im writing this review they were in a major downtime about an hour (Singapore 2:19:36 PM 21/12/2021 GMT +08:00)

I did purchase a VPS on the above offers a year ago and, recently pacificrack has terminated the service and upgraded to another VM which runs on Dabien( my previous VM was Ubuntu which I requested). without any of my consent to upgrade.

The previous VM is said to be terminated from 1st of January 2022 and believing it will not affect my apps, I was going to transfer everything from the old VM to the new one during the last week. but suddenly during mid-December. they have shut down the VM! causing a major downtime in my services.

This is very unprofessional. at least you should have upgraded my previous VM, without just providing a brand new environment to set up from level zero.

This is what happen when you try to go for budget options. Will not be continuing this service.
